Albert and his crew arrived to do a pre-pack for me the day before my big move. They arrived right on time, as scheduled, and called when they were 20 mins out. They move with such efficiency, purpose and precision. I had packed a lot of stuff myself and was trying to save money so they gave me a quick tutorial on how to pack my breakables so I could save some money. The quote was $6,000 - after loading my furniture for an across multiple states move the quote went from $6,000 to $11,000. My furniture was now hostage. Upon delivery, multiple items were not only damaged but destroyed. Multiple attempts have been made to contract Green Apple with ZERO response. I would not let this circus move a tent. While the men in the crew were polite and as professional one could be from backwoods Durango that's about it. What was quoted as a three hour job took the full day even with many boxes pre-backed for them. In the end they ran out of supplies and room in the truck and just started stuffing anything anywhere. Needless to say we have many items damaged beyond repair and there insurance program is a joke. They reduced my bill to cover the damages. So if you have a tent or even a dog house move it yourself! Please do not use this moving company for anything other than local moves. They don't have full replacement value insurance to start with. More importantly we used them for an interstate move. HUGE mistake. They did not set up an inventory of our products so they were not able to verify that we received all of our stuff. They are a local small firm which should be a good thing. The packets did a decent job and so far nothing is broken. BUT they don't have their own crews for interstate jobs. The gentleman who delivered our stuff was nice but not experienced in handling this job. They used 2 locals to help unload who were awful. There was no rhyme or reason to the boxes. It took us two days to find all the pieces for our sleep number bed. It's Christmas with each box opened. Nothing was packed together or labeled properly. They left our most precious and valuable Turkish carpet -9X12 feet on the truck which went all the way back to NM/CO. I had to call them and tell them we were missing this rug and they found it still left on the truck. They sent it packed poorly via FedEx Ground with no signature required. This makes no sense as we had to sign upon receipt of our goods from the main move. I realize there are not a lot of options but you are better off calling Mayflower or Allied in Albuquerque for service. I'm not happy about having to post this review but I don't want anyone else to go through what we went through. We paid for " white glove" service and did not receive it. Green Apple Moving is terrible to work with. They quoted me $1,000 to pick up my furniture in Colorado, but then charged me $2,000 for the pickup without discussing it with me. Then, after having my furniture and weighing it, they coordinated with Mayflower to move my things and quoted me an additional $4,000. They lost track of my things during the move, and it took three months for my furniture to finally arrive when they told me it would take 1-2 weeks. Then after my things arrived, they charged my credit card an additional $3,700 without my knowledge or approval. Trying to charge me $10,000 based on a $5,000 quote where they had my furniture to weigh and size is ridiculous, Overall, Green Apple and Mayflower have been terrible to deal with. He and his crew are polite, professional and careful not to damage anything. They also arrive on time. I have used Green Apple a few times but never will again. The most recent job was the final straw. The movers were actually rude to us. They made derogatory comments about our possessions. They treated our valuables roughly, and when I brought this to the attention of the owner, Charlie didn't take our concerns seriously, and never followed back up. If you want to know that your possessions are in good, capable hands for your next move, avoid Green Apple at all cost. The way they treated our things was bad enough. The way they treated us was truly surprising and deeply unprofessional. The photo below is an example of their negligence and sloppiness. This is a very expensive rug that was hand-woven in India, which was brought back from a special vacation. It as not rolled up and properly stored, just tossed into our basement with an extremely heavily sheet of glass on top of it. Green Apple sent: 2 boys with No assembly tools 1- They were good packers but terrible movers They had trouble moving my big pieces, which requires 'Experience ' to move. These same pieces had been moved before in to and out of smaller spaces with no trouble 2- During the move I had to leave and go get my own tools because they 'forgot' theirs! Little did I know that once they UN-assembled my $3500 elliptical (spending an extra HR @ $120) they wld not be able ...even after spending two More hours to try and Re-assemble it. It 'looked' ok but once I tried using it, was horribly dismayed it was put back together wrong. It wasn't visible so unfortunately I didn't catch it before they left 3- I've called but still no help sent to fix it! read more

Paid $100 for 8 minutes of work. I knew what I was asking for but I regret it now. Had them take a brand new treadmill base (not assembled) up one floor. Granted they had to maneuver it cause my stairs had two turns it. But while they did that they damaged my wall and paint. I'm bummed. Can't believe I paid $100 for 8 mins of work. They had three guys but only took two of them to take it up. They were nice though! I have used Green Apple three times before over the years, so I expected another good experience. We had a complicated move which included 2 storage units (one in Farmington, one in Durango) and a furnished rental (which they moved in reverse 4 months prior). I asked if we should do it in 1 or 2 days, and he (Jerome?) said they'd book me for 3 men, all day, and gave me a "worst case" scenario rate of $2000 for the entire move. This was dramatically higher than I'd previously paid them, but he said rates had gone up- which I was willing to do because of prior good experiences. The day of the move (Friday), the men were courteous and detail oriented, albeit much slower than previous crews. They started an hour late, as well as took 2 hours to drive the 1hr 15min up from Farmington. They didn't finish the first leg of the move/drive/unload until 4:30pm. At that point, I met them at the second place, and explained what stayed and went. I ran a quick errand, during which their boss called me, explained that it was late and they were getting tired, and could they do part three the following Monday. I said "sure", but commented that by this point in the day in the reverse order, that a 2 man crew had already finished with the whole move. He said he'd look into it, and touch base with me on Sunday night. When I returned to the 2nd location 30 minutes later, the men were gone and had moved NOTHING! I tried calling and texted the boss and crew leader, both of whom ghosted me. He then texted me on Sunday night, asking if I wanted them to come back Monday. I called him and explained that I could not take an extra day off as I'd already taken Friday off to move, and informed him that the crew had ghosted me. He stated that he himself had directed them to leave, at which point I asked what he was planning to charge - given his worst case scenario was $2000 for a three part move, and that he directed his crew to leave after completing 1/3 of the job without communicating. When he stated it would be $1900 for the one portion, I called him on how ridiculous this was, and how unprofessional his behavior was. He then called me a liar about the length of the move (again, they'd done this in reverse 4 months before), told me he didn't need to take this on a Sunday night, and "blacklisted" me from using Green Apple in the future. Which is just fine, albeit absolutely ridiculous... Luckily, I have great friends who will still work for beer and pizza. read more

We have moved 17 times over the las 35 years and this was by far the worse experience of any mover! They pack our 3 bedroom room poorly resulting in 80 % of all our furniture items being damaged. Stay away from these movers as they do not know how to pack a moving van properly and will result in damaging your items! When this was brought to their attention, all they said was "sorry"! These are a great bunch of guys. Except maybe Tony! . Seriously ,, they did a great job for us moving a 12' long by 7' tall wall unit to Grand Junction for us. Sounds simple, but is was not. There were glass shelves , and so many parts , I could not even begin to count. They took it apart, wrapped each piece and moved it down several staircases. When it arrived in Grand Junction,, they not only took care to bring it in the house for us, but helped us figure out how it went together. Every part was there, right down to the last screw. Three weeks ago I moved to another CO town 4 hours from Durango, and the price was ridiculously high--$4,300! Being single, I have been told by every moving crew I've ever used--including Green Apple's--that I have LESS than normal loads, which makes this price even more ridiculous. I get that prices have gone up, but from $300 in-town moves to $4300 to a town 4 hours away is not acceptable. J quoted a 3-man team, but it was 2 people. Albert and his wife were incredible with loading, delivery, and unloading. I am thankful for them, and they are the only reason for a 3 star review. Wonderful movers! I needed help transporting some kayaks down to Texas and I needed a large truck to move them. I called their office and spoke to Charlie who was able to cut me a deal since they already had a huge load coming to Austin. I was very specific about making sure they put the kayaks on top of everything else so the plastic wouldn't bend. Not only did they follow my instructions but they also padded the kayaks and they were delivered in perfect shape. They were able to save me a lot of money. A few days later, once I was already on the road to Durango, Russell called me back to say a trip got rescheduled and they had an opening. He called me again to confirm the day before the unload, and the crew boss Albert called me that morning to double confirm. They were on time, super professional, and very friendly. Green Apple Moving moved my new stainless steel refrigerator up the stairs to the main floor of my house and scratched the top very badly. It was days before I heard back and really, nothing was seriously offered to be done about it. My refrigerator was ruined and they did not stand behind their work. There was some mention of being a small family business and I seem to reall that they said they did not have insurance--really? How can you have a business like this and not have insurance. I would recommend that if you value your belongings, you look elsewhere for a mover--I certainly wish I had! read more

We have used this company a total of 3 moves. 2 with good results and one very unacceptable outcome. Two movers dropped a headboard on a wood floor that damaged the headboard and when I filed a claim in the time period allotted they sent me $60 after multiple call to them about this. The bed cost twice that to make it usable and the damage Is still visible. I have used other movers previously who promptly compensated the full cost of replacing the item damaged. Be sure to read the fine print before signing even if exhausted after moving all day. I would never use these people again or recommend them ever! I made an appointment to move all the way back in April. At first they had the wrong day and were able to fix it. We then had to push our moving date back a few weeks and they were able to do so. Then I called them for a little additional information, and they informed me they lost my moving date after sending me a confirmation which I signed. They were not able to help or help me move, and now I am moving myself because everyone is busy moving on Memorial Day weekend, and it's too late to book early as I did with Green Apple. This is worst experience I've ever had with a business in Durango. EDIT: While they did offer to reschedule it took them almost a week to do so by which point we had to reschedule everything anyhow as we have to move then. When I was originally called back with the cancellation on their end they told me not to count on them being able to reschedule, so I didn't. The only reason we weren't "officially" a client is because they lost our reservation and screwed up the scheduling so close to our move that we had to immediately switch gears with so little time before a move on a holiday weekend. Trust was broken, and instead we are still moving ourselves because of scheduling shortcomings which are directly due to business practices. Move was originally booked in March, the wrong date was scheduled, I moved it to the correct date, our closing got delayed and then I had to move it once more. They decided to not use the wheeled base for his $1600.00 Kamoda Joe ceramic smoker and promptly dropped it breaking it into pieces.
