After spending 20 minutes wrapping my couch in plastic they still managed to destroy it. I will not be able to unpack the items for at least three months to further inspect. I hired Green Apple to help us pack and load our goods for our move from Colorado to New Hampshire. They billed themselves as "white glove" service and in fact, quoted us a price to pack/load/move our goods that was simply more than we could afford $12,500. In lieu of having them move the goods, they did agree for a reasonable price to pack and load our households goods onto an ABF trailer. When the two gents came to the house to pack/load, they were told they didn't need to pack, just load. As a result, I had to scramble and buy boxes, wrapping, straps, and pads so they could do their work. The price was higher than quoted, but I was happy to pay for the help. We arrive in Hew Hampshire a week ago and our trailer arrived yesterday. As my husband was unloading, he was furious at the way the goods were packed. Our expensive bicycles were not even loaded standing...they were put on top of each other on top of the entire load. Our grill and misc. other outdoor items were thrown on top of the load. Our boxes marked fragile were on the bottom of the load and compressed or mangled. We've lost pictures that really cannot be replaced and don't necessarily have value to others outside of our house. My mother's china is ruined. I tried to call and talk with Russell or one of the owners, left a message, and never received a return call. I'm trying again for the remainder of the week and will then work to contact outside help to get some sort of reimbursement for property damage. This is absolutely NOT white glove service. Don't be fooled. It's frat boy loading at it's best, and they don't return calls, so there is no accountability for their work. read more

Bottom line is: I recommend Green Apple Moving and believe they are a good and honest company. Our Move: Mancos, CO to Boulder, CO (7 hours one way) plus packing services. The reason I can't give Green Apple 5 stars is that our move was quoted by someone who was subsequently fired from the company before our move, and it turned out that the estimate he gave was either inaccurate or unclear with respect to possible additional costs due to the fact that their largest truck would not be able to hold all of our stuff. So we ended up spending more than we had planned to get our stuff moved, because we did need a second truck. HOWEVER, the owners Adam and Charlie dealt with me directly and they definitely went the extra mile to keep us happy. Even though we ended up spending $2,500 more than we had planned to, at the end of the day I don't think they made any money for this job. They seemed more concerned with having a satisfied customer and by staying as close to the original estimate as the reasonably could, given that we needed a second truck. So I really appreciated their customer service and professionalism when trying to come to a reasonable agreement. And the move itself went very well, thanks in large part to the lead mover Jay, who is a great guy and very professional. They did a careful job packing, and everything was well-protected. He needed to hire some local help when we got to our destination, and honestly these hired guys weren't that fantastic or fast, but the job got done. The fact is that moving is fraught with pitfalls and unexpected situations. I would not want to be a mover or to run a moving company because of the hard work, liability, and having to deal with stressed out customers, many of whom are just a$$holes (as people are). Working with a company with a good business and work ethic like Green Apple is extremely important, and all the more so when the inevitable challenges arise during the move. read more

I have used Green Apple Moving 3 times. I thought they were great until this last time. They set up my tv on my writing desk, I was so impressed. When I went to lift the desk to move it, the leg came off. It had been pulled out of the bottom of the desk. The mover was standing right next to the desk when I commented on it being set up. NO ONE said anything about it being broken. I filed a complaint/claim online and haven't heard anything back yet. The deception of those movers is worse than the breaking of my writing desk. read more

wanting to include a local company in my moving estimates, i have a visit from green apple and thus received an estimate with a single figure. after requesting a breakdown of the estimate they gave me, and multiple follow up calls, chris (owner?) told me he wouldn't provide me and didn't want to work with me for being too difficult. in addition, they quoted $1700 to pack up my kitchen and garage. when i inquired what the $1200 labor cost reflected i was told it was $150/hour for 8 hours and $500 in supplies. perhaps also my negative reaction to their $150/hour charge to pack boxes ($50/per man, almost twice what every other moving company i've spoken with charges) rubbed them the wrong way in addition to my actually wanting to educate myself as to what i am paying for. read more

I have used Green Apple for 4 different moves and they have been AWESOME every time - above and beyond, professional, efficient, hard-working and they really respect and take care of my items. My last move was across the country and I was so impressed with the care and expertise they put into wrapping my furniture - especially my antique Victorian dressers and tables, and mirrors. NOTHING was damaged. My ski poles went missing - and they searched the truck and found them tucked away - and shipped them to me!!!! Amazing customer service. Also, for my last move, they sent someone to specifically help me pack up my storage unit and household items before the move. It was so incredibly helpful. Review: Green Apple Moving or Army Ant Moving I recently hired Green Apple/Army Ant Moving for a cross-country move. Charlie and his crew were very friendly and easy to work with through the moving process. On the day of the move, all of the workers were very considerate and careful with our property. Upon arrival at our new home, we had a few items that were damaged, and they were very diligent in noting these and asked us to please follow up. Upon contacting them with a list of replacement values, they sent us a check for the requested amount with no problems at all. Green Apple Moving was recommended to me but I will not be able to recommend them to anyone else. It was not a positive experience. We hired them to pack and load only. They packed things we specifically asked them not to and didn't pack things we asked them to pack. Things were torn and stained when we arrived at our new house. For example, a king size mattress was not plastic wrapped and became stained. The king size comforter was used for padding and became torn and stained. They plastic wrapped a five shelf stand with items on it instead of packing the items. When they loaded our things, they turned furniture up on its side and did a terrible job of loading items. Hired them to move some items locally. I was told that they don't take credit cards and I don't use checks except for my business. We agreed I would mail them a check when I got back home (I live out of state). Four days later I called to inquire when the items would be moved and was told they were waiting on a check. I told the person on the other end of the phone that we had already worked this out and since they didn't take credit cards (never notified me of this when booking by the way) I would mail the check but I need the items moved four days ago like they agreed. I was told the person that I made the arrangements with "Doesn't know what he's talking about" When I told him it puts me in a bind and we need to find a solution they hung up on me. I got no response on multiple call backs and text messages. Horrible customer service, horrible communication that ultimately cost me a few hundred dollars. read more

We used Green Apple to move from Durango to California with a 6-month storage in GA's container. We opted to use them, a local moving company vs. a national moving line because it provides "white glove" service which gave us complete control the delivery timing without interim stops for other customers. This at the end worked out exactly as we expected. The coordinator, packers, and movers were responsive, on-time, hard working and conscientious to the surroundings while moving the heavy furniture. The delivery was delayed by two days due to weather condition, and we were kept appraised of the status. We paid exactly what was quoted in the contract, except packing material and labor which was additional based on time/material. The only complaint we have is how long it took to resolve the damage claims, the first one was resolved right away and the second one took 3 weeks with many calls. The ONLY reason they're getting 3 stars is because of how awesome my original move went. My second move on the other hand... not so much. The day the movers came to get my stuff... they told me they would be moving me in a day later than scheduled because they were overbooked. I had things scheduled that day and needed my stuff in there for it (such as DIRECTV... it's kinda hard to set that up without the TV). So I called the owner... and explained that pushing me back a day was unacceptable ESPECIALLY since I had booked it over a month before the move date. He got it sorted out... but I still think it's awful business that the movers had to tell me instead of him calling me himself. And then when the movers were getting ready to leave town... they told me they would only take cash or a cashiers check (I had the money in the bank so that didn't matter... but I had to wait until the next day to get to the bank... some warning would have been nice). All in all... if this were the only move I did with them... they would have 1 star. read more

Great service, very fair price. pick-up and delivery on time. very courteous. Owner checked on status of move throughout the process. Careful loading and unloading including an upright piano. Nothing missing.Only issue did not explain the no credit card policy until after the move was complete. This could have been a big problem. I am very unhappy with this company. We moved to another residence in Durango in February and although the movers were polite at first, they caused hundreds of dollars worth of damage to our floor tiles, piano, decor, and sentimental belongings. When I later called to complain in regards to the poor service, the individual became very rude and hostile and sarcastically threatened for me to sue them. Do not use the Green Apple moving service as you are in for a very sorry experience. These guys are very unprofessional and their carelessness does not belong in such a business. read more
