The staff here are rude. The prices on their optional services are ridiculous. I will gladly never go here again. I came in with a label ready to print. Asked if they would print and affix it for me? Their fee for such a service? $3. For a single black and white printed label. They then proceed to explain to me how amazingly expensive their printer is and how they need toner and they need to lease the machine and... LABEL PRINTERS ARE THERMAL, they do not use toner! YOUR LABEL PRINTER IS A DYMO 550 TURBO! 1,000 labels are $6. You print labels for shipping all the time. Absolute trash business. read more

I went to ship some small arms cartridges as I have done many times at UPS stores across the country and they refused the shipment. The package was labeled and 100% in accordance with UPS regulations but they didn't care and said they were a "franchise store" and would not take the package. Never seen a store that picks and chooses what it ships when in compliance with UPS guidelines on their site. UPS should pull the franchise from this store. read more

The ABSOLUTE WORST experience Ever! I work for a large corporation with a corporate account that covers everything from shipping to tape. I have shipped from this specific location for 8 years and tonight I was told that they have never shipped via a corporate account. I explained that was untrue and asked the first lady to please look it up and I was first told that she wouldn't. The next lady stomped over and said I'd have to come back tomorrow when Corey was there! The two older ladies working there now are the rudest most condescending people I've ever encountered. You know when you walk into a place and you can tell someone is having a bad day and don't really wish to be at work? Well this was that day for the person who waited on me. He was rather short with the customers before me, kinda throwing things angrily and not very friendly. No smile, just another day at work for the poor chap. I usually don't go to this one in particular but I needed to shop someone in my vehicle and it was right next door to where I was going. Convenient? Yes! Great experience? Ummm not on this go round. From my previous review, the "local business owner" missed a key point in that the mailboxes were being changed out, no keys were available nor in use at that time, and that anyone could have walked in and asked for mail from any mailbox and it would have been given to them without verification. Fortunately, it was a friend of mine that was getting my mail. Second, when it came time to renew my mailbox, my name was not on the notice (but on the contract) and sent to my friend who was listed as one who could pick up the mail. It seems that he was "changed" to the primary box holder, without a contract. When trying to calmly discuss this over the telephone, and I reiterate calmly, the local business owner talked over me and hung up the telephone. Courteous staff but the manager has a horrible superiority complex! I was trying to ship a laptop to my son for Christmas and this guy felt the need to interject himself in all aspects of the transaction instead of letting his employees handle the job. He could tell I was in a hurry and getting upset and chose to call me out in front of his employees and other customers with condescending attitude. The guy with the earrings and tattoos was incredibly rude. How convenient he didn't wear a name badge. Customer service there needs some serious work. This place is also a rip off. I had a decent experience here. It's the holidays so I guess I expect to wait a little bit in line. But all the customer service representatives were working hard and busy so I can't complain. The only thing they could fix is to explain why they're asking for the information they're asking for. The guy that helped me just asked for x, y, & z, but didn't explain why he needed that information. It would be really helpful and nice to have that interaction with your customers. read more

I wouldn't usually think to write a review about a UPS store, but the employees at this location are honestly so nice that it's needed. I come here at least once every other week to ship returns, and almost every time an employee greets me and takes my box before I even get to the counter. Even when the line is long, I get in and out in less than 5 minutes (1 minute if it's short). All of the employees are so polite and courteous. This location makes a tedious task easy and convenient. read more

Sending many packages you want a place that can know your name and be fair. This is an ok place. UPS the business offers free packaging to send packages which isn't available here. It wants to sell you their products and packaging. I have found if I go online to mail my stuff using USPS online I can send them cheaper and USPS provides the packaging. IT IS JUST OK. read more

They (UPS at 4300 perimeter dr) are exactly what others say if not worse. I ordered a part online that required a signature. I would not be home so I had them hold it at the store. I did this well in advance! Package arrives at 7:38 according to tracking I arrive at 9:30. Guess what they can't find it and tell me it's not there! So I wait in my car for an hour as requested by the rude and incompetent staff working. I go in and now it loaded on the truck out for delivery, wtf! I go home and sit for 3 more hours I check the status to see where it is and it has changed to held for pickup per customer request. Hmm, I try to call this location but guess what? They have no phone for the public to call!!! So I call the 1800 UPS number and deal with mike an outsourced male I can't understand who tries everything in the book to not let me speak with a manager. Long story short I go back taking time off work to get my package AT THE STORE but wait it gets better. It looks as if my box has been through wwIII (see pics) and one of the parts has damage to it. Granted the shipper should have packaged it better but did they really have to treat the box that way. If you have any choice at all ship thru another company. UPS quality is non existent! read more

RACIST. I dout anyone will even care about this review because I'm just another African American male getting stepped on. I realize there's nothing I can really do when the owner (Franklin Pickle) is the base of the issue. I'm a local business owner and I came into this location on Friday the 18th about 6:20pm inquiring about getting flyers printed for my business. The guys that were working at the front Adam (maneger) and Zack Brown (employee) immediately told me they do not print in house. I was completely confused because someone els in the business field specifically recommended me to them for printing. Today Tuesday the 22th I went into the same location to drop a few packages off and somthing told me to ask the young lady that was working at the front about printing. I asked and she told me printing would be NO problem at all black and white or color. She told me if worse case senerial they would need 24 hours. I then asked her was she sure and that they dident have to outsource, she then told me absolutely not that they print in house eveyday and wouldn't have a problem unless I needed a really big banner. I seen the other guys who told me they couldent and I told her what they told me and she completely ignored it. I then left being the person that I am I hate confertation but when I left I couldent fight the feeling of being just treated like I wasent impotartant, that my money wasent good enough, that I wasent a priority because the color of my skin. I went back about 35 minutes later and spoke with Adam (manager) and after trying to bs me for a minute he finally flat out just said he was wrong and apologized but at that point I asked to speak with the owner because I felt like this would just keep happening to people just like me. He then went and got Franklin Pickle (owner) and I started telling him what happend and the way I felt I was miss treated in his establishment and he then laughed and responded to me saying " oh that's the way you fell huh? well you don't have any proof, I've never had any complaints on these guys" I then looked at Adam and repeated what his boss the owner just said to me and Adam responded "well there's a first time for everything"He completely apologetic and told me he just wanted to make it right. Franklin Pickle (owner) completely ignored everything I was saying and what Adam was saying and then asked me "are you going to get your stuff printed here or not? I'm done talking to you" I then said of course not I'm trying to talk to you about a situation that I had in your establishment but it's obvious to me now why these guys knew they dident have to treat me as a priority what so ever. He then told another employee to call the police on me without even asking me to leave or anything and went to stand by the door to wait on them. I walked up to him and told him that he was treating me just like they did the other night because of the color of my skin and he looked me dead in my eyes and replied "your a smart boy" I then left because everyone knows what happens when a white business owner calls the police and says there dealing with a crazy black man. It's sad. Just want to add in the other guy ZACK sat their the whole time with a huge smile on his face grinning. I pointed it out to the owner and I think he thought it was funny as well. I'm a 21 year old African American male that ownes a business in Chattanooga and knoxville and well. I grew up here in Chattanooga and applied for a job at that same ups store when I was 17. I remember a really nice red head guy told me that they were really short staffed and needed employees and for weeks I came back and checked on my application. I never got hired and til this day I still have never seen a African American working in this ups location on Gunbarrel rd. Adam I want to say to you thank you so much for recognizing your wrongs and being a man and opologizing trying to make things right. Your better than that company.Don't turn your head when theirs wrong doing going on and continue to take a check. Money isn't everything. read more

Best fast service! Nice, clean store, no clutter. I came in at 5:45pm needing to get many papers notarized for my licensure application. I was ready with all the papers filled out, including personal identification documents. Aaron Lockhart, the notary, was ready as soon as I walked in to help me. He quickly looked over my papers and helped me sign them before placing the seal. Fast, courteous service. Normally the notarization is $10 per seal but I got the service for free as a promotion. It saved me time, money, and worry. Thank you, Aaron and Felix, for great service. Your smiles after a long day really help customers feel welcome and at ease. Other stores are more cluttered and disorganized and even rude and make me feel stressed, but this store is set up so that everything is in its place and you don't feel flustered waiting in a long line because the employees are focused on doing their job well. I also spoke to Felix on the phone earlier in the day, and he was very courteous and notified me of the notary's schedule so that I could get my papers done today. Thank you! read more

I went to this UPS to return a really nice, brand new pair of expensive shoes to the store I purchased them from. I did not wrap the box myself, but was asked to give the box and shoes over to the employee who informed me he would wrap them and "be sure to keep my receipt because these sort of packages get lost all the time"...first, why does this happen all the time??? And second, they DID get "lost." Actually, I believe they were stolen. I called two weeks later after both USPS and Anthropologie state they did not receive shoes, but only show that a shipping label was created. I spoke with the owner who started bashing the USPS service and told me there was nothing he could do. I calmly told him that I am considering filing a police report to which he flipped out and told me to come in and "act like an adult"...UM, okay. As an adult, I will not be making the same mistake twice. DO NOT USE THIS UPS!!!! read more

Shipped a package before Xmas that UPS lost and was unable to locate after two weeks of investigation. But our disgust with UPS pales in comparison to how the store owner handled the claim for reimbursement. We submitted a receipt for two of four items shipped as UPS would only cover the first $100 of value, however the store owner failed to communicate that the taxes associated with these items would not be reimbursed therefore making the check for less than $100. If we would've known that we would've submitted the other receipts to receive the full amount of reimbursement. When I called the store and spoke with the owner he proceeded to argue with me and tell me there was nothing we could do as the claim has been closed. I would recommend that no one use this store as the owner fails to understand the value of the customers that come in and use the UPS services that he has associated his store with to generate a profit. There are other UPS stores in Chattanooga and close to this store- USE THEM INSTEAD! Other reviews seem to agree with this experience. Yet the guys working day-to-day do a real good job. I've been using this business to help me process my shipments for several years. It's a family run business and they have always treated me with the utmost respect and courtesy, and I've come to know the family and the younger people that work there pretty well. I love that they recognize me when I come in and have absolutely no attitude problem even when they are busy. I just assumed everyone knows that a small business does not run like a fast food shop. If you have a beef, mention it directly to the manager instead of trashing the business online...judging from the previous review I'd say that person doesn't get out much, and is not smart enough to know that the UPS store does not set shipping and packaging rates; the parent company does, so instead of rating this store, how about rating UPS, Inc.? So, check the rates and the details of how you want your packaged shipped with UPS's handy app, THEN go have it shipped. Ask before you sign the paperwork how much it will cost, and if it's too much, ask if there's a cheaper way. It's not brain surgery. Take it from me, a repeat customer...been to that store dozens of times in the last year along...it's just fine and actually a lot friendlier than going to the post office. The only reason I didn't give the store a 5-star rating is that sometimes the staff gets inundated so you have to wait - what they do at the UPS store is pretty labor intensive, after all. But I've never waited more than 10 minutes. Better than the good old post office, for sure. Sounds to me like that person that wrote the one-star rating (R.T.) is not very familiar with this type of business and is needlessly ruthless with her ratings. read more
