I've only had two dealings with FedEx in the past year and both have been disappointing, and I'm currently going through the second dealing.
First was with a laptop I had ordered. Even though my front door was open to show that someone was home and cars are in the driveway, each time the delivery driver would mark the delivery as no one being home. I was able to call the Century Oaks office to have it scheduled for pick up, and the tracking information was updated to show it was scheduled for pickup, but when I went to the office to pick up my package I was told it was on a truck again. Even though the tracking information was updated, internally my package was noted to be redelivered. I managed to catch the driver on the THIRD redelivery "attempt ". It took me two weeks to get my package because of the delivery issues.
Now, a year later, I'm having a similar issue. This time the delivery notices are either being placed in the gate or the mailbox, and again people are home and the front door is open. Now the phone number for the local office is no longer available and you have to talk to customer service, and I'm being told different things by customer service. First I was told to call the local office (tried, number no longer available to the public). Second person told me to sign the back of the door tag and leave it for the driver, though 1) the driver didn't select that option and 2) the driver is consistent where he's placing the door tags and 3) the places the driver is placing the dirt tags are along the road and not at the house itself (which is only 15 feet from the road), and passing traffic will only blow the door tag away (today's door tag was on the edge of the road!) Now I'm being told that there are restrictions on my package (which is an empty cardboard box for shipping an item!) and that I HAVE to allow a THIRD DELIVERY ATTEMPT so that package will automatically be available at the local office for pickup, and that the previous representative was wrong about signing the door tag.
There is no "I'm sorry that you are having issues with your driver" or anything that the driver is doing something wrong, they are siding with the driver with "there has to be no one home." And the sad thing is that if the package I will be receiving in the next couple weeks is also shipped through FedEx, I will more than likely have to go through this all over again. read more
