I've been coming to this location for years, always had such a great experience with the same guy at the counter. Looks like he no longer works there. I came in with a bunch of Amazon returns. Only one had to be processed at the counter, the rest I was able to complete at the self serve kiosk. The employee who helped me was so unfriendly. Not even a hello. But that doesn't really bother me, most young people in the customer service industry behave this way. The issue was, she walked away from the register in the middle of my transaction. Didn't say a word to me and just left me standing there. After about 5-7 minutes of me waiting, I asked the other employee if she knew where the other girl went or if she could help me. She just continued waiting on new customers while I stood there. The other employee eventually finished my transaction and I never saw the other girl. Service here has gone downhill, might be worth the drive to the Southington location. read more

Waited about 15 minutes for 2 different staff to print me out some ordinary simple paperwork. The main printers were not working. They kept telling me to check and wait it should be printing. No you get away from the back room and come help me yourself. The pages finally printed and the ink is faded and they still charged me full price. 3 employers working very unprofessional. I heard swearing in the back where you can hear them loud and clear because they are loud. They were gossiping heavily and having customers who should be in and out waiting. There was a women who gave someone an item for free yet I had to pay over $8 for faded ink paperwork.... Where did the other man go who used to work here. This ups needs him back, he was playful but knew how to multitask and get his work done professionally. I'm annoyed and disappointed. read more

For several years we've been going to this particular UPS store for all our returns and never had an issue. We dealt with the nice guy that's always there. I believe he's either the owner or manager. Who knows. He's always been nice to us but we've only seen him get attitude with one person. His staff seemed nice as well, until... The other day I went to drop off a package that I prepaid and printed my own shipping label. I just needed the thing boxed up and sent out. The POS with the dumb curly hair was the one who "helped" me. No smile and not even a hint of any kind of customer service. You never know what someone has going on in their personal life so I stayed smiling and was professional and courteous. Then he told me the price to box my item which was roughly 16x18x6 and weighed about 5 lbs. Near $40 just for a box and some bubble wrap. So my response was yeah I'll have to find some other way because no way am I spending that on just a box and some plastic. I asked for packing paper but he claimed they MUST use bubble wrap. So after I declined the service, the rep hit the keys on the register hard showing his disgust for my decision. Looked past me as I packed up my item back into the bag it was in and just said NEXT! Couldn't even give me a minute or say ok no problem have a good day. From there I drove home. Cut up and taped together a box to make it the size I needed. Had my own packing paper. Boxed it up and drove to the UPS in Southington. No problem there. The guy who helped me was nice and courteous. Out of curiosity I chatted with him a bit about the Bristol store and how much they were charging just for a box. He said yeah no way it should cost that much. So he priced it up what they would charge for a box and packing paper which they said they CAN use. Just under $20. Still a lot but much more reasonable. Luckily I didn't need the packing service at that point. And this whole ordeal comes after the numerous stories I've heard of terrible customer service at the Bristol store. So moral of the story.... screw Bristol's UPS store and all their obnoxious employees. Learn some manners and customer service. Leave your nasty attitude home with your baby mommas and your vapes because honestly I don't care what your deal is. read more

She's kind, empathic and has excellent interpersonal skills, especially working with challenged people like myself when it comes to complicated shipping. The worst ups store I've ever encountered. I was charged $145 to ship a 1" stack of documents next day air. When the package finally showed up in the UPS system it had sat for 24hrs at the Watertown hub. It was finally delivered after two days but it was too late as these were legal documents needed for a trial. When I returned to UPS I was told by the supervisor I had to file a claim online. That information was completely wrong as online claims do not cover late deliveries. It's been two weeks and I still haven't received a response from anyone at this ups store or their customer service. I will never go back to this store and everyone I know will be advised of my experience. Awful! read more

I have returned Amazon items through this location for years. They have always been efficient and friendly. Today however, was a nightmare. I received my package from Amazon in a plastic bag and attached my return receipt on the same bag. The young woman behind the counter said 'you put it in the wrong package, I can't take it.' Not understanding what she meant I asked her to explain. Her anger bubbled over and she said turn off your phone WiFi and show me your return QR code on the Amazon site. Again I was confused but turned off my WiFi and of course it didn't work. I asked for the store password thinking that might help and she gave me the wrong password. After she realized it was wrong, she told me not to use my WiFi again. Then she grabbed a piece of paper and wrote a different password on it. That didn't work. She got more and more irritated. I asked why she was talking to me like that and she said she wasn't talking to me 'in any particular way.' I then asked if someone else could help and a young man came out and began to help me. Finally my phone brought up the QR code and the young woman came back and took over again. She was still angry. I then asked 'why are you talking to me like this? I just want to return my package?' The young man who previously had been helpful said 'you returned your package, now leave.' I then said 'what is going on? Why are you people being so rude to me? He shouted 'you people? FU@@ YOU, leave and don't come back!' I asked for their names and they refused to give them to me. Then an older lady came out of the back and tried to smooth things over as the young man continued shouting. All in all, not a good look for UPS in Bristol. Sorry this is a giant missive, but the entire episode was confusing and upsetting. And yes, I will be filing a formal complaint with UPS. read more

I just returned an Amazon package thru this UPS location. After waiting in like for about 8 minutes I was called on. When I told the customer service person I was returning an Amazon package he pointed me to a self-service computer. I asked if he could just scan it for me as I was at the counter. He told me Amazon was not a priority for him. I told him I was a priority as I was a customer and next in line. He scanned the item which took about 6 seconds. WTF? Customer not the priority? Ridiculous. Not going here again. read more

The guy at the counter was awesome! So friendly and helpful. I didn't have the entire label and he knew right away. He helped me to retrieve the full label (more than what my printer printed). He was able to get everything set so it could be sent out without me having to go back home and try again. Highly recommend this UPS store over any others I have gone into!! read more

It was down for a little while using it and other costumers were being disrespectful and the staff were very helpful and explained to the costumers the machine was down and that's why I was standing there. I recently walked into this UPS store to ship a package that i previously purchased a label through Pirate Ship.... Just now, i see they found a way to surcharge me for that same package ... what the hell... they take the package and know what it looks like in terms of size and weight...then they surcharge me on that.... that's wrong... UPS personnel accepted my package in person and then surcharged me for size of the package a week later. Angry people in Bristol? Again, that's wrong ... bad business. read more

Every experience of mine has been a positive one with the same young man. I usually go in to return my amazon packages and as a prime customer, I've never had to even package the item to return it. I just give them the item, and they box and tape it up for me, free of charge. With the printless option, all UPS has to do is scan the QR code on my phone, take my item, print me a receipt, and I'm done. Easy. Peasy. The store itself is smaller in size, but offers a wide array of printing and shipping options. During COVID, they've been able to keep everyone socially distanced, and the line flies quickly. I came to a 10 person line last night and was done within 20 minutes. That's not bad at all. There were also constant UPS trucks coming and hauling away packages. As soon as one was full, another appeared. They're really on the ball with quick service. I don't pay for the Amazon returns, so it definitely is the easiest and most convenient return service I've ever used. It makes me love the fact this store is only a few hundred ft from my home, and that I have Amazon prime. The two together make for a seamless experience. Have never had bad service at the Farmington Ave , Bristol location prior to today. I don't know if these 3 were new employees or not, but they should not be working with the public. I had a difficult time getting the scan code centered on my phone for it to be uploaded into the UPS system. The kid was getting impatient with me, so yes, I did raise my voice a bit, saying I cannot get it centered for you. Then another " kid" came over saying not to disrespect the cashier. I said, " I beg your pardon ? Maybe people need to learn to be more patient with " us old ignorant people". He then stated if I coukdnt get it, then maybe I should just leave and go to the post office. I looked at the cashier, who has been quiet, and said as far as I k ow, the post office does not accept ups packages, so we shall continue ( I had 3 returns to he scanned in ,). Then another kid comes over and said if I was so ignorant, then maybe I shouldn't even have a phone. All I said after that was maybe they need to learn proper client service, took my receipt, and left. read more

Cynthia did not look hard enough to find my package. I had an email stating she signed for it at 12:19 on 12/4. Little did I know that Nancy was in the back, whom Cynthia could have asked for help from. I had to waste 45 minutes of my time, calling UPS (Cynthia said she would not), and they said they would open an incident report. I asked to speak with a supervisor on the phone and she finally agreed to do more digging as I wanted an answer today. She called Nancy at this location to which Nancy agreed that the package was in fact there. I called the store back to ask why exactly Cynthia had trouble finding my package, and reiterated that Cynthia wasted 45 minutes of my time, and Cynthia hung up on me. read more

The associates are so kind even when they're super busy they make you feel welcomed and like you aren't a burden to them! This is a shout out for Joseph- who in my opinion deserves a raise or some kind of an award. I came into the store today around 4pm when it was relatively busy. There was a woman in front of me who was extremely rude, demanding, and condescending. I mean she was so nasty she even yelled at him at the way he passed her the scissors (which were right in front of her and she could have easily picked up herself). Honestly I had to laugh in disbelief at points at the way she was talking to him, but he kept his cool. Joseph was professional and managed to still bounce back from that encounter and offer me great service. Just wanted to leave a positive kudos to a great employee - and sorry you had to deal with that!!! Keep up the good work. read more

They told me I had to buy a roll of tape to shut my Amazon return box, for like $3.15. I normally go to the UPS store in Farmington, where they are fantastic, so I was surprised to have this location try and scam me over three inches of tape. Pass. read more

So I've used this location and to be honest for convenience still will, for amazon returns. I will second every reviewer who posted about the excellence of Joesph. If I owned a business I'd hire him without hesitation. Would I give this particular store money? No. If I ship something, I'd buy postage or ups/fedex online and send it that way. For the ease of dropping off a amazon return locally it's fine. My reason for one star is I had recently purchased two portable badminton nets from A. I'm teaching a badminton unit, and was in need of additional nets. I started to build the first net at home to go through the steps to make it easy for me the next day. Well the clip inside one of the telescoping poles broke and I couldn't disassemble it. So I tried my best to cram everything back in the box. Chose the ups drop off they pack and ship with the QR code. I brought the boxes 1 sealed and 1 open but great condition with some poles sticking out about 4 inches. Without even a "hello" the older lady that works there (didn't see name tag) says "I can't ship that" "i can't seal it". I responded that it's the best I could do, it's broken. A told me to bring it as is. She said "well things change". Very rude, with a nasty attitude woman. I took my boxes and emptied the contents into the giant A box they both came in and will go back tomorrow with it. On another occasion the owner told me to buy tape because my 10" box didn't have enough tape. I've never had an issue with Joesph, ever. That young man is phenomenal. One of a kind, that are harder to find in retail spaces. He should be running/owning the store. read more

This store does not know how to mail any package and the will take your money and never deliver your packages. We mailed a package to my son on 9/6/2021to Alaska. It cost $249.24. It was rejected as haz mat. There was nothing haz mat about it. We have spent week and weeks going to the store calling the manager ect. ect. The manager of the store told us he had never seen that happen in five years. We told him to cut it open and look no haz mat. Then they told us maybe there is a battery in there. Then they told us you can mail electronics to Alaska. We went to the post office in Bristol and they told us that is crap. The bottom line here is they stole our $249.24 cents they told us they tried for weeks to get it back. Today we went there and took the package back we will have to mail it and spend the $$ again. I am being very strong I know but I don't want anyone to loose this much money and have to deal with such incompetent people. When packages is your only business and you can't mail a package you have serious problems. Please do not got there. read more

Only go to this UPS location if you want to be charged for an express envelope which is offered free by UPS. I went to mail out a ticket someone purchased and he claimed I could not have a free envelope for free because then he won't make any money...I guess a dollar profit on an envelope is more important than having a customer return. read more

I agree with the Jennifer M. lady about Joseph. He's the best. Switching subjects, after reading some of the other (poor) reviews, I truly believe that a scary percentage of people these days are just plain nuts.
