I'm not really the sort of person to write a review on an ups store; I've been coming to this location for years due to convenience of the location, never really had any issues. Today when I dropped off some returns a few employees were chatting around the register and one employee was discussing how she was stuck in traffic on her way to work and it turned out to be due to one car. Another employee who was listening to her story remarked "must have been a woman". I'm not interested in providing business somewhere that so openly talks in front of customers with that kind of rhetoric, it's unprofessional. Keep your sexist remarks to yourself. read more

Tried to return some merchandise that was shipped to me via UPS. Should be easy, right? When asked what was in the box, original packaging, I told the clerk it was an optic. She asked me to explain so I told her it was a sight for a pistol. She immediately, and proudly, said I could not ship it. I asked why. "Because we are a franchise and have a policy to deal with nothing related to guns!" It is plastic, metal and glass with a battery. It cannot hurt you unless you beat someone over the head with it and then, not really. She was a very proud denier of shipping services. I told her I guess I won't be doing business with her and she stated that was fine and to have a nice day. I wished her the same and left. Yes, she is exercising her 1st amendment right. As am I now. Funny, there is no 1st without the 2nd. Since she clearly has no love for the Constitution as written, perhaps we can do away with the 19th as well. Before I start getting trolled. Yes, private business, not government. It is just astounding to me the amount of uneducated shrews, harpies, Karens, whatever that power trip over their ideology. It's a freaking magnifying glass. In today to send a USPS box with a prepaid label because the local post office in the Mobil Station is temporarily closed. I also had a USPS Priority Mail envelope that needed postage. There was a bit of a line but it moved quickly. The associate, Tray was enthusiastically handling those in front of me, and took care of my package, then suggested that a new UPS envelope would be $26 less than USPS. In and out in less than ten minutes. Great job! read more

They always will always lie and quote a price when I've asked for the lowest price way to send something. Then as i express alarm at the high figure and am preparing to walk out - "oh! U meant the lowest price, well that would be-" change of method and price. I go to them when Iines at post office are too long, but I hate going there. They even lied to me about their not being an eBay discounted rate which is untrue. You just have to sign up for it online. Sour faces on top of all that. From now on, I'll go to UPS on State Rd 70 instead. I always leave feeling gross, like I imposed on them with my business and like I just narrowly avoided being scammed. I needed to print and scan documents for work and the staff was very helpful. I brought in a USB drive with the documents I needed to print and was able to do everything within 15-20 minutes. For three documents (7 pages total) the cost came to $10 for printing and scanning services. read more

On May 21, 2014 I stopped by The UPS Store #4147 at 1767 Lakewood Ranch Blvd in Bradenton, Florida 34211 to ship four (4) boxes. After weighing, measuring and 20 minutes later I paid for the shipments and was leaving the store when I was presented with two (2) contracts the owners wanted me to sign. I read the fifteen (15) line items of rights I was being forced to sign away for them to ship my property and refused. I was told to have a nice day and I left the store. Twenty minutes and the same number of miles later I received a phone call telling me that I have to come back to The UPS Store at 1767 Lakewood Ranch Blvd in Bradenton, Florida 34211 and retrieve my property, and that they were refunding my money and would not handle my shipment. When I arrived to pickup my property I was refused a cash refund as I paid using my debit card. I was told that the refund would be immediate and would go back on my debit card account. This was an outright lie. The male owner of this The UPS Store then stacked my four (4) boxes on a hand truck and wheeled them out of the store and dumped my property in the street. All because I refused to sign his contract. This cost me four (4) hours of my time today. My property was put at risk and I was made to feel very uncomfortable and threatened while being harassed and insulted by the owner of this The UPS Store during a business transaction representing UPS. read more

Pay for premium and get economy. I do not recommend this location. Drive to the main hub or Fed Ex. I paid for packaging and next day early delivery. The total cost was excess of $200. The package arrived on the 2nd day. They hide behind the statement 'we can't guarantee delivery'. I can accept a late delivery but they should refund customers up to the service received. Otherwise it is a classic case of bait & switch. read more

I already had an poor experience with UPS, but come here for copies. Last time I came the guy took great care of me and was very friendly. Haven't seen him in a while, don't know if he left. Went in to fax tickets, I have only used a fax machine once, so I told the guy I needed to fax the tickets. He looked at me confused and asked if I wanted a cover letter. I said no I'm just need to send this via fax. He asked if I wanted to mail them, finally called someone in the back and he explained a little more saying if ki wanted to send copies. So now that they were on the same page I just left. I work in customer service and would never give anyone an attitude the way this guy did read more

This UPS location is the worst that I have been associated with: Pat and Randy are very rude to the customers and act very disinterested in keeping their customers happy. I have requested countless times to be notified when I receive a package, which I do often, and have yet to receive an email or a text. I regret renewing my rental. Tried to ship a package of the same product type and size that I have shipped at this location, and the Owner of the store tried to charge me more than double the price without disclosing it until it was time for me to pay. When I tried to reason with her that it was an exorbitant amount and more than I've paid for the exact same service before, she consistently made excuses and tried to justify the insane price. When I asked to have my item back (which I hadn't paid for or signed anything), she would not give it back to me. After much back and forth (in which I was trying to stay calm in the face of this nonsense) she gave my item back, looked at another customer with a "can you believe this guy" look, and told me never to come back again. This is only a fraction of the interchange as it would make her look even worse if I went into details. Also, thank you to the older gentleman that works there who has always been very friendly and helpful, it is unfortunate that your name will be held down by the unapologetic lady running the place. Tip for bad owner: Respect your repeated customers, and just because someone is young does not mean what they are saying is naive or wrong. I had the best experience at the Lakewood Ranch UPS store! I was greeted with a friendly smile from Justin and a "can do" attitude. I wasn't sure of what I wanted, but after a brief conversation with Justin, I was completely satisfied and I received my announcement cards the next day.l The end result was awesome! Ugh, after moving here from Kansas, I looked up my local UPS store expecting the same service. However, I have been very disappointed. The husband and wife who own it are not very friendly nor do they advise you. Yes, they can ship your stuff, but for a small business owner, they have no idea how to help you. The husband is very easily flustered. I have been there several times with lines and we all are telling him not to worry, take it easy, no rush, etc and he still acts in a panic. When I called to see if my packages had been picked up because I requested electronic tracking, I was told I would receive an email when it was delivered. He said he couldn't understand why I would want verification that it was shipped when he handed me the hard copies. So... I am scanning the hard copies and sending them to my clients. Some very unhelpful, downright nasty folks. They may always have an answer here to bad reviews, but why do they have to keep answering them? Because their customer service stinks and people don't like it. Ridiculous minimum charge for using a credit card. Tried to send a package USPS yesterday and was brushed off and the man simply walked away. Sent it without problem at another UPS store. I have used this and another UPS location close to us depending on where I was at the time. Folks at the other location are always pleasant and try to help. These folks make you feel bad you walked in and bothered them. Here's a clue for you: be nice. That's all, just be nice and act like you are genuinely glad someone walked in. Smile, be happy. I agree with the latest review from Dick H. I have used this UPS for my business for several years now. I have never encountered one problem. I have utilized most every service they offer, from simple stamps, notary, collecting my mail and any packages to sending out packages. Nothing but kindness and helpfulness have come from the owners and all employees. I am there at least 2-3 times a week and they ALWAYS notify me by email when I have a package. I have also witnessed belligerent customers who don't have patience to wait in line and/or allow them to verify all information is correct to where they are sending something. People want everything this instant and stamp their feet when they don't get what they want. I was completely mortified a customer(s) would behave in this manner. I stand by my recommendation of this location to anyone who needs these services. read more
