So on a Monday morning, i needed to print labels to ship my belongings to Florida where i was moving to So I went to the computer and all of a sudden, I had one of the employees hovering over me asking If i needed any help. Then a moment later, i find out because I spent a couple extra minutes trying to figure out what to print, they were timing me so they can charge me for using the computer. Seriously? I didn't even notice a warning near the computer telling me any of this. So, they charged me $3 top of what I had to spend on the printouts. I should've just gone to the library. Also, every single individual employed at this location has absolutely no social skills whatsoever. They ask you want you want and tell you what to do. They're just order processors that act like robots. Im not lying. Update: So i just moved to Florida and visited a local UPS Store. Let me tell you all something. Maybe its something in New Jersey that employees just dont care. Maybe they dont even get paid alot to motivate themselves but you have no idea what you're missing here. I dont know if anyone has seen the film Pleasantville. Its like that. Everything is perfect. Employees help you immediately when you walk in like an Apple store. They ask you how your day is going. I sold a framed painting and called the Boonton UPS store for a packaging and shipping quote. I spoke with Mr. Patel, the owner, providing the exact frame dimensions, weight, and destination. He estimated $50 for boxing and $25 for UPS Ground shipping, bringing the total to about $75. When I arrived at the store shortly after, he pulled out an oversized box--much larger than necessary--and suddenly quoted me $130. I asked if he could trim the box down since it was at least 18 inches too tall, but he said he couldn't adjust the cost in his system. Then, he added that he hadn't yet factored in the charges for the box, packing materials, and labor--another $110. In just minutes, with the same package dimensions, the price jumped from $75 to $240. The store recently changed ownership, and it was clear that Mr. Patel had no intention of honoring the quote he had just given me. Whether it was a misquote, a lack of business knowledge, or just dishonesty, the experience was frustrating. I'd recommend finding another UPS store--this one is not worth the hassle. read more

I initially had a problem with a package that was delivered on time but severely damaged...UPS was dragging their feet on my insurance claim but the UPS Store dilligently followed up and made aure that the insurance claim was paid to me! They got it approved and the check for the damages was sent to me! I highly recommend this store based on their amazing service from intake of my package to payment of this claim! I hope that in the fiture my packages don't get damaged but now lI know I can trust this store with my valuable shipments! read more

In October, 2024, I purchased four lots from an online auction in Boonton, NJ. I contacted UPS Store 4650 in Boonton to do the shipping, and I sent them photos and invoices of all the items. (Each auction lot had multiple items.) These were all antique porcelains over 200 years old. Two large boxes arrived, but UPS Store 4650 had not picked up all my items. Also, the packing was very unsafe, with only one layer of bubble wrap around most items. They stacked six saucers of various shapes together with nothing between them and then wrapped them tightly with sticky tape, then wrapped the stack in a single layer of bubble wrap. I had to dissolve the tape off because sticky tape will lift gilding from antique porcelain. They also taped a lid onto a teapot and a lid onto a sugar bowl with nothing in between to cushion them. I had to dissolve the tape chemically rather than pull it off. They stacked three teabowls of various sizes together with nothing cushioning them, and one of them broke, dating to about 1770. I phoned UPS 4650 and complained loudly about the missing items, the breakage and the bad packing. I explained how to pack porcelain safely--each separate piece in its own bubble wrap, no tape on surfaces, etc. The fellow said they would do better when they sent my missing items. In the next box, they broke two pieces. Again, most items had a single layer of bubble wrap and were knocking against one another in the box. They charged me nearly $100 for this shipment, making me pay for their mistake in not picking up the items earlier. I noticed this charge when my credit card invoice came, so I called and demanded they reverse the charge, and they did. Throughout all this, the people at the UPS store told me "Don't worry," "It will be fine." Have patience." "I just returned from a trip," etc. I asked for a partial shipping refund, since only 3 items were broken. They filed a claim with their insurer. After nearly a month with no word, I called again. Apparently the claim was on hold because the insurer needed the invoices I had already sent the UPS store. I took care of that. A couple of weeks later I received a refund for the full cost of shipping, more than what I asked for. That was nice, but that won't fix the three antique porcelain items that broke because of their poor packing. UPS Store 4650 made more mistakes than I can count. Their packing was incredibly bad, even after I explained the right way to do it. They ignored the most basic procedures for how to serve customers. read more

I normally wouldn't go so far to recommend a place like a UPS store but when you get exceptional customer service in a world so devoid of it these days, it is worth some praise. It is a great place for efficient return drop offs and Amazon returns. They process and handle so quickly and systematically. In of itself, that is noteworthy but today I had a complicated international shipment and they advised and assisted with expertise and confidence! I'm extremely impressed with their handling of it and overall pleasant experience! read more

This is the nicest UPS I've ever been in. So cozy, welcoming and friendly people! I order a lot of packages and sometimes I can't be home to sign for them so in the case, I make sure they drop it off here so I can pick it up. I've done it to other UPS locations near my home but I always get a horrible experience with a nasty attitude. I've always had a post office package and they gladly took it off my hands and told me they'll drop it off at the post office. I've been to numerous UPS locations that declined or charged a fee for it. The manager/owner of this location is a sweet, friendly, old man! THE BEST. read more

Convenient to my location, nice helpful staff. Would love to give a 5 star rating but cannot as I feel I was taken advantage of... Purchased a 24" mailing tube for $3.29. This store charged $9.35 to send via USPS. At the time I thought that was rather pricey. Note mailing requested was not second day or rush, just snail mail. It took almost a week to reach me. When the tube arrived, the mailing cost shown on the tube was $5.50!!! I don't mind paying a premium to use The UPS store for USPS services, however almost DOUBLE THE PRICE? Major league rip off. They will lose your package and keep your money. Manager made a mistake on the customs form. No big deal, lets just make a new one. Then he includes the incorrect form and it is marked as undeliverable because the document doesn't match the contents of the package.
