43 dollars for an express letter is more than the cost of Amtrak to my destination. I will go there in person instead. What was once a useful service is now only for the rich, and is 110% compliant with Donald Trump's campaign against mail, which is motivated by his campaign against voting. So UPS raises their price slightly higher than USPS, to ensure Trump has his way and there is no economical way to quickly send a hard copy even to a nearby destination.
I would give less than 1 star if it were possible.
Of course you will get cheers from the nouveau riche of BloNo, where Ray LaHood, as transportation secretary, got away with a scam related to Richard Nixon's VP, Spiro T. Agnew.
Agnew was forced to resign for taking kickbacks from the concrete industry, in exchange for favors. The loud train horns mandated by Transportation Secretary LaHood would have been a much bigger coup: lots of concrete would have been needed for all the sound barriers, in every city where a train passed through, with much louder horns than needed. Chicago filed suit, and won, literally saving billions of dollars, nationwide, that would have been stolen by the Republican's supporters in the concrete industry.
I argued, in Galesburg Illinois, that substantial improvement was needed at railroad crossings, and they would ensure safety better than loud unnecessary disruptions. I get no credit for this early insight, but my very clear statement was published by the Peoria Journal Star, and I was pleased to see the new crossings in Galesburg when I passed through for a visit. Darin LaHood does not deserve the job as US Representative for BloNo, but there are many irresponsible Republicans in Bloomington and Normal, Illinois who are always glad to pour more concrete, while chopping down more trees that they claim to prize,
because they have more money than brains.
That's why you do see a few glowing reviews of the UPS Store. read more
