Quick diagnosis of my lawnmower. Was repaired within 24 hours at a fair price. Runs like new.

Very good and friendly service. They pick up and deliver. They are so helpful with troubleshooting first, too. Highly recommend!

A neighbor recommend I check out Martin Sulluvan for my lawn care equipment needs. Best…read morerecommendation I've received in a long time. The price was better than I'd anticipated and the service was far beyond what I'd experienced elsewhere. I'm so pleased to know I have a great place and even better people to count on when it comes to making my home look good.

So I want this to be considered a two-part review: Martin-Sullivan Sales and Martin-Sullivan…read moreService. It would be unfair to paint the whole business with the same brush. Let's start with the bad... Service. I bought a well-known, expensive brand of chainsaw from this company in the winter of 2014. In the fall of 2015 the saw overheated and seized. The service department claims that it was due to user-error. I disagreed, but I can't say with certainty as my father-in-law was the one using the saw at the time it failed. Either way, I'd had the saw for approx. 10 months and took it in for the service dept to look at. Within the day, the service manager had contacted me and said it was user error and the saw was completely shot. It wasn't an issue with improperly mixed gas... the saw was allegedly run with the chain brake on causing it to overheat (again, I can't say with certainty whether that happened, my father-in-law disagrees completely with that claim). I was displeased with the diagnosis and asked if there was anything he could do. He said he'd try to get the manufacturer to pay for some of the repairs. After a few days, he let me know that he wasn't having any luck getting any help from the manufacturer, so I told him that I'd just come get the saw and not ask him to do any more work on it... all of the time thinking "boy, a well-run business would help me out somehow with a store credit towards a new saw or just eating the cost of the repair knowing that I had spent money there and planned to spend more". When I came to get the saw, I asked the service manager "Ok, what do I owe you?" His response, "Nothing. Just buy your next saw from us." I thought to myself, "well I guess that's something... I'm planning to replace the saw in the spring, maybe I'll come back here because I've had such good experience with the SALES DEPT". About a month later I get an invoice in the mail for labor and diagnostics costs. I call the service manager and ask about the invoice and whether it was sent by mistake. His response, "No. You didn't come buy another saw from us so I'm charging you for the repair hours. If you come by a saw before the year-end, I can clear that charge out." This is on December 22nd!! This is what I'm hearing: you have a week to come spend several hundred more dollars at a business who didn't help by servicing your first purchase... if you don't come in the next week, we're going to charge you for time and labor on a repair that we didn't even have the decency to help with in the first place. In the end, I'm going to pay the invoice and wash my hands with Martin Sullivan, which is too bad because, as noted below, their sales department has been great. My experience with the sales department has been very positive. I've purchased chainsaws and gotten tractor quotes from the sales department and I've always been very pleased with the time they've taken to talk through things with me even though I wasn't spending $50K+ like most large farms. I would give the sales department 5 stars by itself if I could. They're friendly, knowledgeable and do a good job of making me feel like they care :) If I'd had a better service experience, I would happily spend more money at this business. Take all of that for what it's worth. Just sharing my experience...
