My primary concern when I board my dogs is that they are not in a cage for the entire day and get plenty of playtime with other dogs in a large area. Preppy Pet ensures that your dog is supervised and gets as much playtime and exercise as they need. They have a good sized outdoor play area as well as a large indoor play area for inclement weather. The staff is very friendly, listens to your concerns about your pet, and cares about the well-being of the dogs that are in their care. The prices are exremely fair and will not make you go broke if you need to board your dog over a weekend. I feel great in knowing that I never have to go anywhere else for a kennel. The staff make me confident that my dogs are in good hands when I cannot be with them. I highly recommend this kennel and daycare!

They had to call our vet after we spoke to sort it out. At the same time I found the records and it took me all of 30 seconds to google the vaccination series listed on page 1 to find what they needed. I'm not sure why they ask for records if they can't read them (or at least be able to look up themselves), and why they would wait until the last minute to do this. Although we signed up for a specific class, it was treated as part of a series, i.e. we care more about you paying for more and more classes rather than the one you actually bought. Instructor expected us to undo months of training and for our puppy to re-learn things according to their program. Not about to confuse her just to accommodate this one trainer.

Jennings Canine is hands down the best dog trainer in the area (and probably outside of the area,…read moretoo!) we went through three trainers before finding Jennings, and Brian Jennings had our dog fights under control after two sessions. He listens, cares, and creates a plan that works for you AND your dogs. He also trains right in your home (or wherever the unwanted behavior is) so that you know it is being addressed. We've found other trainers to be fine at basic obedience, but not with behavioral issues. Brian is both and more. I cannot recommend him highly enough! Pictured are our three former MMA fighters, now living peaceably in Charlton, MA!

In reading these reviews, I realized that Brian has gone on, after our experience with him nearly…read morethirty years ago, to have a lengthy experience of highly successful dog training. Bravo to him! We hired Brian to help us train our Springer, Beardsley when he was young. As you read here, Brian came to our house, Beardsley fell in love with him and nearly instantly wanted to do whatever, whenever Brian asked. He helped us understand our dog and train him to be the best possible version of human companion imaginable, and Brian's lessons have remained in our heads and been practiced through the acquisition of our family's future pets. I see no need to echo what everyone else here is saying, it's all well-said and entirely true. Brian is worth his weight in gold. But two things I haven't heard here do deserve emphasis. Brian is absolutely great at relating personally to the dog lovers he works for. He empowers them (us) to become good trainers ourselves without mentioning the fact that he's doing so, so that you become adept at how to manage your dog's behavior and understand his inner brain workings by the time the training sessions are completed. This is a very good thing. Also, I have perhaps never had more usable advice in teaching a pet (or a child, even) than when Brian said to me, "Linda, just saying Beardsley's name louder isn't a command. Tell him what you want him to do." (Sit, Stay, Leave it, etc.). The Best of the Best!

I grew up in Hudson and left at 18 vowing never to come back. I lived all over the world,…read morecollecting dogs in my travels, and moved back to Hudson at the beginning of the summer with my now husband and 2 dogs. We work A LOT so I was blowing through dog walkers and dog sitters left and right. My dogs are small. They're sweet. They're emotional. They require some patience and tenderness that I was sure I was never going to find in a dog walker/pet sitter. I have an irrational obsession with both of my dogs -- I found one in kennel in South Korea, sick and abused. The other we got at another shelter and she is vivacious and social when comfortable, but often uncomfortable. They sleep in the bed. Eat salad. You get it. I'm crazy, my dogs live well and I want them to always live well. My husband told me a few weeks after moving to Lake Boon that there was a dog daycare on our street, 3 houses down. I thought he was seeing things. I had spent the entire summer interviewing, hiring and being disappointed by dog walkers/pet sitters. "She hid under the couch so I didn't walk her" "he didn't eat... last meal was 3 days ago. is that ok?" On and on. So, there was NO WAY there was a pet sitter on my street. And my husband now can say "this is the one meaningful, useful thing I have contributed to our relationship" - he found the BEST dog sitters ever! 5 doors down. We recently traveled internationally and for the first time ever, I gave my dogs to someone who doesn't share half my DNA. This was not easy. We are back now and my dogs are so happy and I can tell they have been happy since we were gone. I know they missed us but they were SO well cared for. They slept in beds. They snuggled. They played. They walked. They got individual attention - they were cared for as well as I would care for them and that is soooooo perfectly wonderful. You all are fantastic and we thank you so much! I feel like I'm leaving my dogs with... myself away from myself. Does that make sense? Maybe not. Do not hesitate to contact Nancy for all your pet care needs. Patient, thoughtful, reliable, loves what she is doing, you're all the best!
