The facility is clean, well-organized, and full of fun activities to keep the dogs engaged. My dog, a French Bulldog, is not the easiest so early socialization was a must. We have been going to Tails by the Wayside for 3 years now and I always feel confident knowing he's in good hands! For daycare, there are plenty of play areas, both indoors and outdoors, so dogs of all sizes can have fun safely. The staff members are always keeping a watchful eye on the dogs. As a small business, I know my dog isn't just a paycheck. They truly care about him and his wellbeing, which is not something you find easily!! I board my dog at least 6 times a year, sometimes for 2 weeks at a time. There are not many places I trust to board, so I'm so thankful to Heather and her team! The drop off and pickup process is so easy. They make sure to follow the medication and feeding schedule. I am always able to enjoy my trips without any worries, knowing my pup was getting personalized care. I highly recommend Tails by the Wayside to anyone looking for a safe, fun, and loving place for their dog. Their attention to detail and the comfort they provide both for pets and their owners is unmatched!!

We were initially using her services for our cat but after getting a dog last year, we started calling on her for both animals. Our cat is older but still energetic, and she loves having Brenda's company when we are away! It has been such great peace of mind to be able to go away and know that both our elderly cat and our hyper young dog are in good company. Brenda is very professional, thorough and communicative. She always makes sure to send photos and updates, which we love. Brenda's home is a perfect spot for a dog to be able to safely run around, and we love that there is plenty of outdoor space. We are (Fur Sure!) very grateful for Brenda's services!

This was my first time adopting so I wasn't 100% sure what to expect and it was busy the day I went. Everything was very organized and the woman up at the front was lovely and so was everyone that I spoke with up until it was my turn to meet the dogs. They brought the first little guy out (Humphrey who I adopted) and I immediately knew he was the pup for me. He was spunky but I could also tell he was confused and a little unsure. They went over in depth about how he resource guards over food, and I have quite a bit of experience with training a dog out of that behavior. They also went over how he was missing a couple teeth but his health check was clear. After I met Humphrey I told them I was 100% interested in adopting him. The holistic approach was already something I was planning to follow for any dog I was planning to adopt, so the fact that this was a holistic shelter was the icing on the cake! Shirley the owner talks with every potential adopter and she was absolutely lovely. Since then I if I have any questions or concerns regarding anything, I email her and she gets back super quickly. 7 1/2 months later Humphrey has blossomed more the I ever could of imagined and he is truly the light of my life and very trainable. Save a Dog would be the first shelter I would look to for another rescue! Thank you from the bottom of our hearts, -Naomi & Humphrey
