I swung by with some friends this past week and we had a blast. (pun intended) This was my first time at The Ultimate Drive, but I'm sure it won't be my last. We took advantage of their Top Tracer, which keeps stats such as distance and direction of each swing with fun games and challenges to play. We had all skill levels represented in our group, from newbies to longtime golfers, and we all had a great time. The Ultimate Drive provides a great experience for all. The staff was super friendly and helpful. The facilities were very clean and well maintained. Honestly nothing here seems to be updated. Pretty run down actually but, I always have a great time coming here. Always had good service and haven't experienced any faulty equipment. After visiting for the first time we had so much fun. Only thing to note is the drinks and snacks were totally wiped out on a Monday by 11:30. It was Labor Day so I don't know if there was a surge of people in the morning but it was disappointing to have such limited options when it was so busy. Only Gatorades left was the Lime and Cucumber which most dislike. Will definitely return of course, would just appreciate more consistent stock of drinks and snack options especially having little ones with us. read more

I wouldn't recommend this place. Service just very poor compared to what you would expect at this establishment. For instance I arrived at 8:02 pm. They close at 9 and I wanted to pay for a hour and shoot until 9. Because I was 2 minutes after 8 they wouldn't serve me because I have to pay for a full hour the lady said? I was willing to pay the full hour and loose a couple minutes and she still turned me away. Just would have expected better service from an establishment like this. Sad to see read more

It is wonderful how they remolded this place and definitely love to come out. The only reason why I am not giving it 5 stars is because its closes at 9pm. We went to go last night and the place was still packed and we were hitting balls close to 9 and they shut the lights off on us. At least let us finish hitting our balls that we paid for. We don't really golf but we do love Top Golf. This is close enough. It has the tracer games that Top Golf uses so its fun. The place isn't fancy. They dont have the fun lights or music like Top Golf. Maybe it will get there? You are sitting on patio furniture outside with a table. 4 people max to a booth. If you are golfer, this is great practice. If you are going with a group of friends for fun...this is an experience to at least try. Its been getting cold in Bakersfield and ofcourse outside...bring a blanket! Horrible business practices.. I see I'm not the only one that has made the complaint about there 8 pm rule when they advertise open until 9pm.. If you advertise that you close at 9 you don't lock the front doors at 8 and not sell range balls. It's false advertising also locking the front doors of any business during hours of operation is against fire code regulations. As a business owner I'm shocked they turn away any customers. I would've been gone before 9pm and respected your closing time now you lost several customers not just me and got a bad review read more

I am pretty sure this place will soon have a 5 star ratting. Honestly for now the place still needs some work. I stopped by today and spoke with the owner Jim, he was very friendly and explained to me in detail how The Ultimate Drive will be once it is completed. He explained in detail future plans and ideas of this new updated driving range. Also mentioned about the members only deals. This place will be MUCH more that just a place to hit golf balls into the unknown. With all of the technology this place has will tell you exactly how far your drive was, or how far off it was. Too much to list once the place is complete. For now it is loaded with high tech stuff but still needs a little work on the grass and future putting green. Great for first time golfers , polite staff, inexpensive , they do however stop selling golf balls by 8pm but close at 9pm.

Great customer service, I'm newer to golf and the worker went out of his way to teach me how to properly grip and swing the clubs. They have options for both new and more experienced golfers, along with carrying rental clubs for a dollar each. The price for the bags is cheaper than the buckets I purchased at riverlakes, and the beer prices are really cheap for a sporting place. They stop selling balls at 8pm and close at 9pm, which is on their website, sort of like a last call so you have time finish your balls by closing. They are also the latest open range in town. My family and I will definitely be returning and using our new membership!! read more

This is a great place to go out and hit a few balls. I am new so I needed to practice this is a great place has virtual golf which has the ability to track your ball distance and you can even play world famous courses on. Also has the power tees which is great if you're focusing on your stance and swing so you don't have to reset after placing your ball each time let the power tees do the work also has standard driving range available . My fiance and I came here a while back as a part of a group for a birthday party, and I gotta say, it was a blast seeing the renovations they did with the place since it was Jose's Driving Range. The new bay rental and electronic games are a blast and make the experience much more enjoyable, in addition to the beer and alcohol prices being cheap. It is also in a fairly good location despite the entrance being somewhat hard to find, but the experience overall is extremely enjoyable. We cant wait to come back! read more

I'm in the golf-travel business and was looking for an after-dark place to test out a couple swings with a new driver. Never knew this place existed so went over to check it out. Seems like a cool driving-range-plus facility, clean and well-lit. Only issue for me was I drove over to beat 9pm closing time, only to find a sign that said they stop selling balls an hour before closing. However, the woman in charge (not sure if she's the owner) was nice enough to let me still hit a few. I'll definitely come back to hit balls at night and try out the Toptracer technology, which looks very helpful for figuring out club distances and other statistics. read more
