A Group of 14-16 friends have been dining at The Oyster Troff for several years and have always found the food and service to be more than average. On Sunday, we had a reservation for a late lunch/early dinner. They explained that they were short staffed but would be more than happy to prepare the food and serve us. WOW! is all we said when the waitress took all drink and food orders and a BIG WOW! when the drinks and food were served. Huge sandwiches on wonderful buns, raw oysters big as saucers, drinks were re-filled often and service staff could not have been more accommodating! Stopped here on our way to the Bay Street Players Theatre to see Camelot on Saturday in Eustis. We love Oysters and Fish Dip and It's hard to find a great place for them. As soon as we went in the family owned restaurant/bar made us feel right at home. We ordered a dozen steamed oysters and fish dip. Both were beyond belief, FANTASTIC, HUGE AND TASTY! The beers and food were a great price and our bartender/server Abby treated us like family. Had a great time and would highly recommend if you're looking for some top notch Oysters and service. Nice hometown atmosphere. I'm not from the area but you can tell the people around the bar are regulars. Everyone was real friendly and there were a couple of tables celebrating birthdays or special occasions. The food is good and so is the service. Ask about the daily specials. I missed out because I didn't study the menu good enough. Also check the "specials board" mounted to the wall. I made a great selection of oysters from there!! We arrived at 8:30 pm, ordered a roasted oyster platter. It was Saturday night and the restaurant was set to close at 11 pm. 15-20 minutes later the waitress very apologetically said there were no more shucked oysters and we left! read more

Fresh oysters and some of the biggest oysters I have ever seen. A little dirty which is expected from a greasy spoon place and prevented me from giving 5 stars. Especially the bathrooms kind of gross. This is a perfect no frills oyster bar with three rooms that each had huge troughs for shucking and bars, plus regular table seating for families We arrived around 8pm on a Friday night and it was pretty full. Always a good sign. The waitresses were very attentive and nice. The oysters were huge but not as great as other places we've eaten but no complaints since the price was only $12.99 for a dozen which is super cheap. We also ordered the Seafood Sampler and the Fried Scallops entree. They gave hefty portions that were perfectly fried/breaded. We started to leave around 9:30pm and the place was packed. My husband & his buddy come here often. They both enjoy the oysters a lot. This was my first time here & I enjoyed the fish basket. The fish was a little mushy but it was tasty. Our server did a good job serving many customers in tight space. The only problem I saw were some standing water that we had to step over to get to our seating area & some little kids who I assumed belonged to owner. The kids have not been taught to politely step out of customers way, they also seem to have the run of the place helping themselves to ice & soda. Went to this place years ago was not impressed. Went the other day for 1 pound of peel and eat shrimp for $9.99. Outstanding cooked to perfection. We have been here a few times. The oysters are delicious as is the fish. Last time we went a few of us tried the Cajun wings. Sadly they were terrible. So salty we could not eat them without taking the skin and spice off of them. One in our party had the dry wings with no spice or sauce and they were really good according to him. Went here a couple of weeks ago. Cool little place with great oysters.The shuckers are clean and quick! We had a bucket of oysters and hush puppies and fries. Sides were good. Only thing I didn't like was the shared containers of horseradish on the tables. Kind of grossed out by that but when you're eating raw oysters not much room to complain about gross stuff! Went there and the oyster shucker must have been having a bad night. Normally everything is great there. We ordered a bucket of steamed oysters and when he brought them out he shucked a few then left us to go take care of other customers who had ordered oysters. I was tempted to ask for our own knife so we could finish shucking the rest of ours. He would come back and do a few more then leave again to help other customers. When I asked for another drink he acted like it was an inconvenience. Someone else in my party asked him a question and he was rude acting like we were bothering him. This place is as good as it gets. I was a little reluctant the first time I went because of its outward appearance. The staff makes you feel welcome, even if it's your first time there (it was my first time eating oysters, too!). They shuck 'em you suck 'em. It's clean and I like the idea of the bar all around the place so you can people watch and have conversation with someone across the room. There's darts and pool in the back and full liquor bar. The price is right! Go to Happy Hour (I think between 5 and 7???) and spend @ $10 for a dozen oysters and a couple of beers and the tip. read more

When I lived in Missouri I used to dream about places like this. Shuck em, serve em up raw right there on the bar, mix the cocktail sauce to your own personal taste, grab a pack of crackers and go to town. Don't. Waited over a half hour -- for RAW food....ordered the chowder which tasted mostly of either flour or cornstarch and was room temperature. When steamed clams FINALLY arrived...they were tasty -- but dry...and raw oysters took over 30 minutes. Ambience?? Well...back room was all that was available -- nice if you're into bare light bulbs. Was not very happy with the expierence i had at the oyster bar in eustis .i am a sucker for oyster bars and dives I ordered shrimp and oysters it took 42 minutes to get my food as i was ready to just walk out the young lady who i hadnt seen for refills or to even ask if maybe id like a app while im waiting came and said it will be just a few more minutes. Thats fine but id just like to be notified atleast so i could have ordered something to hold me over. But once i got the food it was great... i mean great!! Like heaven in my mouth it was worth the wait. Maybe it was just their off time or maybe short staffed b.c there were only 2 other people in the reataurant but i will give this place another try here soon read more

Nope! Only because of our last experience. First time we had oysters here everything was great! Today was by far comical to say the least. We had a bad batch of oysters and when we spoke up to say so the guy shucking was so rude he basically began to argue that they were fine! We were not looking for another bucket nor a discount just wanted him to be aware they tasted off. (This isn't my first rodeo I've been eating oysters and seafood my entire life as a Louisiana native). We heard others around us saying the same however they received a much more timid reaction from the server. Shrimp was soft and mushy. Honestly it was just bad. The rude service just took it to a whole other level. We wanted to have a few drinks after our meal but after 20 minutes of not being able to grab anyone's attention to get more drinks we called it a night! Nope nope and nope! The freshness, flavor and size of their oysters are second to none. Starting at about $8.00 a dozen (that's no typo) and decreasing when you get the bucket or bushel, you can actually make oysters your main course without breaking the bank. I've tried their burgers and wings as well, but can't bring myself to waste time on the side shows when the main attraction is so over the top. That said, their wings are absolutely perfect and also an unbelievable value. I am a seafood lover, and don't mind the GOOD fishy taste at all. I ordered the fisherman stew and fisherman platter (I believe) and everything I tasted STANK. Not in the seafood fishy way. The seafood here is not fresh. The soup was extremely fishy to the point of bitterness stank. The crab legs stank. The shrimp stank. And most of my clams were unopened. When I told my server that, she said oh they must not have cooked it enough and took it back. Oh, it was cooked enough. They were just dead before they cooked it! When they brought it back, I realized in addition to "cooking it some more", they also broke the shell open by force. My stomach was just turnt at that point and wished I didn't come in. read more

If you are looking for 5 star dinning this is not it. If you want FRIENDLY service, GREAT food this is it. We love this place. Cold Beer, fresh oysters shucked right in front of you, tasty WINGS and did I mention ICE COLD BEER. I haven't ordered anything yet that I didn't enjoy. We tried the lobster and was very disappointed. The entire tail was rubber. My husband spoke with the manager who did apologize and assured us she would adjust the bill. The waitress was wonderful and once we were done with our drinks she brought our bill. There had been no adjustment on the lobster. The waitress then consulted with the manager who gave us $4 off the bill. Unfortunately we paid an obscene price for a couple of claws. We still tipped the waitress 20% of the original bill as she provided good service. The food was bad and we felt the manager was deceitful. We will not be going back read more
