Cameron listens well, responds appropriately, and is skilled at cutting hair. The only reason for the 4 stars is that the vibe is much younger than this 70* woman. It is clearly designed and decorated for a much younger, seemingly male clientele. It has nothing to do with Cameron. He was appropriate in every way, even laughed at my commentary. A bit steep compared to other prices in the area but I appreciate how they are taking Covid precautions seriously. I clearly and simply explained that I wanted all my long hair gone, with bangs no more than one inch. When she was almost finished, I explained that much more needed to be taken off the sides. A little bit more was cut but a lot was left and the bangs were over 1 1/2" and crooked.. I have had my hair cut there 6 times now, and 4 of them were less than perfect. Truly a horrible experience. I scheduled a bang cut wanting only the two very front pieces on either side cut to just under my chin. The stylist assigned to me was unfortunately Cameron. I have very long hair and had no intention of anything other than the very front around my face to be trimmed. I thought I had thoroughly explained to him my lifestyle and what I was looking, but seemingly he was not listening. Immediately after he was done, he started begging me to style my hair, which should've been my first red flag. I reluctantly agreed. I now think he pressured me into the styling to cover up his hack job. Cameron cut away most of my length in the front which is devastating. I do not cut my hair pretty much ever and love my hair to death. To have so much of my hair recklessly cut off by a dude who clearly couldn't care less has me gutted. If Cameron could honestly stand behind what he did to me he should not be trusted with anyone's hair. I don't know how a shop could employ someone putting out work like that. He has made me feel ugly when I truly felt beautiful in my hair. I will regret letting him touch my hair for years to come. I wouldn't want this pain on anyone else. Only reason I'm giving this experience a 1 is because the owner tried to fix the horrible haircut which she referred to as a "bob" and agreed it looks like I have two uncohesive hairstyles. read more

It's almost like they wasted my entire afternoon on purpose...but it was more likely just to get a bigger tip from the previous customer. I came in 5 minutes after opening and got on the wait list and was told it would be about 2 hours. Got an automated text saying they were ready for me after 2.5 hours. This was the WORST haircut experience I have ever been through. The stylist looked like she was just out of high school and had the worst skill ive ever seen. I have thick, wavy/curly hair. She started by ripping a fine toothed comb through my dry hair for 20 minutes, combing out all my curls dry, not gently or mindfully. Tore right through the knots (my hair is coarse with coils so it knots easily) from the top down. I swear this person seemed like they had never dealt with hair before. Then she trimmed it, then took me over to get it washed, and used lukewarm/cold water and the most measly effort, seriously the worst wash ive sat thru too. She didnt even use conditioner on my hair then she sent me back over and used a dry brush to literally RIP through/down my wet, non conditioned curls, from the top to the bottom i think she did more damage to my hair than I have in the last year (i treat my curls right!). It was so awful that another stylist came up and told her to stop and there are brushes meant for wet hair (such as a wide toothed comb, NO SH*#!) How is it possible that a licensed cosmitologist DOESNT KNOW that curls shouldnt be brushed (ever) or attacked with a fine tooth comb while dry!? Im appalled this person is allowed to work there. My scalp literally hurt after she ripped on my hair for an hour, it was so sad. BE CAREFUL HERE if you have thick/curly hair! read more

Patient and affordable. A good place to get a cut. They do require a bit of feedback to get it right and you have to spot the parts that are a bit uneven but i walked out a happy customer and will be back when I need a cut in the area. I walked into Trim Scene to ask about making an appointment; instead, I was offered a haircut on the spot if I wanted it, which I did. Serena seated me within 5 minutes. I showed her a photo of the look I wanted, and she went to work. No more than 20 or 30 minutes later, she was finished, and I had the BEST haircut! I knew within 5 minutes that it was going to be great. Note: I have short, thin, very fine hair - not the most fun to work with. Serena was a pro. I have now received my second horrible haircut from this place... I am not sure why I came back in the first place. The first messed up haircut was completely uneven, one side was much longer than the other side. I recently visited to get a haircut and was assured the person doing this haircut would do an excellent job. Cameron took one look at the photo i showed him, said he would need to look at it again but never asked for another look, and ended up going his own direction with the haircut. I asked for a shaggy pixie mullet and ended up with a jellyfish bowl cut. The bangs were cut so short that now my hair is messed up and can't be fixed. I had to cut all my hair so short and have been feeling very low. I lost all my confidence. Do not trust them with your hair. read more

This is the booty I discovered when I boarded the Trim Scene in Humboldt for my appointment with Beth ("Bethany" if we're being proper), a delightful tattoo'd lass whose positivity sparkles as much as her scissors. After pulling up a stool (er... sitting on her barber's chair), I informed Beth of my normal haircut (one involving clippers). She studied my sandy blonde and explained, "Y'know, you have beautiful hair. I could ditch the the clippers for some scissors and it would look amazing on you. Do you have some extra time?" I was stunned. Never have I had a barber hear what I wanted and inform me that they wanted to go a different way. Much less at a cost to them! After her work was done, I realized this was one of the most enjoyable haircut experiences I've had. Beth was ready to send me out into the world armed with confidence and beauty. So I walked the plank off the Trim Scene and dove (dived?) headfirst into the sea of humanity ready to lace me with compliments about my fresh cut. Go to the Trim Scene. Ask for Beth. Got a haircut and everything seemed to be going. Well. Sat down with the barber explained to her the haircut I wanted and showed her pictures. I was assured she could execute the cut. At the end my haircut was nothing like the picture, the barber even said herself it wasn't what I asked for. All she said was "sorry, there is a learning curve". I like my hair cut from this place very much. Andrew is the man! I don't know much about hair cuts, despite being in my mid-30s, but he does! He sized me up and recommended a style, and then proceeded to give me said style, and it looks great! I can't ask for much more than that! The interior space is really chill here.
