David Ricks came out and patiently assessed many trees on our property. For one large oak that another tree company said needed to come down, David said just to monitor it, and he pointed out that it serves as a blocker that would keep other higher risk trees from hitting our house. It's 1:30AM in the wee hours of a Sunday morning. CRASH!!! Down comes a 75 ft tall oak on the property. I saw the mess in the morning with attendant damage to the. deer fence that keeps the rats-with-hooves from devouring my daylilies. I called on Sunday. Craig came out Sunday afternoon and cut enough of the tree to get it off of the fence and did a temporary repair on it to keep the deer out. This outfit has done several jobs for us. This company is just the best! They've really helped us better understand the trees on our new very wooded property. They've done risk assessment on some trees that had us worried (many of them not actually worrisome, turns out), they've done some strategic pruning of some trees, and they've taken down a few that we wanted gone. Their bids are clear and detailed, their work is thorough and excellent, and they clean up after themselves. Their schedulers are awesome, the arborists are great, everyone is responsive about communication. Their pricing is reasonable as well. My husband and I just took their chainsaw class, and found it engaging and super helpful. As skittish chainsaw newbies, we knew we needed some major guidance in getting started. The class, taught by David, covered so much material so well: pros/cons of different types of saws, protective gear, safe handling, and education about how/where to cut in different situations. All this, plus lots of hands on chainsaw time! We left feeling like we had enough experience and info to get started- just what we needed, and even better than we'd hoped. Do you own a chainsaw, but could use pointers on how to use and maintain it? I took a course with David (co-owner) on chainsaw safety and operation. It was hands-on, informative and approachable for two ladies. I would highly recommend this to anyone who has or is considering buying a saw; it would be a great introduction to the types of saws out there to know which one to purchase for your use. Excellent company to work with. Original consultation involved marking trees and discussing the actual work. Several weeks later the crew arrived with excellent equipment and safety gear. I watched them work (sometimes 30 or 40 feet up a tall tree). Work proceeded well and what really set this company apart from others was a discrepancy in what I wanted and what was originally done. There were a few extra limbs I wanted removed that were not marked. They came out again to satisfy my request. All the time a very easy company to communicate with. After asking for an appointment to see a tree with dead branches in our yard, we had a meeting with a very knowledgeable employee. He recommended one pine be removed, and the crew came to do this a few weeks later. (There was no danger of the tree falling, so waiting for removal made perfect sense.). I have had them in twice. They do a great job and they take all of the debris away. There is a bit of a wait these days but it's well worth it. This week, I had them remove a giant (100ft +) pine that was smack in front of the house. They did a great job. The house suffered no damage and a potentially dangerous situation was alleviated. I hired the Treeist to remove 3 large trees who had fallen during our last rain storm in mid-April. Craig and his crew could not have been more professional. The job was done within the time frame given and the crew was very efficient and courteous. I had a great experience working with Craig Nishimoto and his team at The Treeist. I requested bids from 3 companies, with only 2 responding. The Treeist was one of these. I was leaning toward working with Craig anyway based on his questions, his consultative approach, and his understanding of what needed to be accomplished. But his bid was also the most competitive. We had a full day of work on our wooded yard -- the most complicated aspect was securing and strengthening a 70' double-trunked hickory tree that is close to our home. Craig provided several options of how to handle this which allowed us to keep the tree. He has great communication skills as well as being a skilled arborist. After the team had left there were a few stumps that I wanted cut down lower to the ground and Craig had his team return quickly to complete this task to my satisfaction.
