Limited number of people, spaced out so we don't get germy with each other, all the windows open, hand washing, disinfecting.... all the things are happening here. This is a boxing gym, you dont come here for a treadmill or to get swole. That helps keep it not too crowded. We roll in, participate in a well planned hour of drills and hard work, and roll out. Let me just say, this is one of the most comfortable boxing clubs I've ever been in. 2nd floor with windows all around. The natural light is amazing. There is a ring and plenty of bags and gear. They sponsor a club, and if your goal is to throw down for real you can acquire that skill and practice here. I just want to be in the zone, get out of my head, hit it hard for an hour and walk out feeling mighty. Mission accomplished.

My goal in coming to McConnell's was simply to help give me an outlet for moving my body. I didn't join with the intention of actually learning anything, just show up, cardio, and go home. It's been such a chill experience that I now take 4 classes a week, I'm gaining muscles, and am developing actual skills and knowledge. But the best part? I MADE FRIENDS! This gym attracts some pretty great people. It's welcoming to all body types, genders, orientations, and nationalities. And there's never any pressure to be more involved than you want to be. I have no interest in actually fighting, but I'm having a great time. I love this place.

Matt Lindland, Dan Henderson, Ed Herman, Ryan Schultz, Chris Leban, Randy Couture, Matt Horwich... The list goes on. Quest has a great group of trainers and coaches, recently added is Fabiano Scherner and he has began to teach Gi BJJ. Quest currently has almost 400 members, and a good number of them are excellent training partners with a good amount of experience, which is great for getting better... or just beet up. To the other yelper who reviewed this gym; Yes there are some other great gyms out there, and it looks like maybe you should find one because the Rear-naked choke in your picture is quite sloppy. (i am just joking... calm down) Bottom line is that Quest id a great place to train MMA, good coaches, good gym schedule and good members, i just wish it was closer to my house.

With little gym training, I had to search for a personal trainer and fast! I found Burntown Fitness! Personal trainers Kisar and Traci have the expertise and patience to get you through your challenge, whatever that may be. In less than 3 months, I successfully completed the physical ability test exceeding minimum qualifications, and was able to be tested remotely at their facility. I have interviews lined-up in law enforcement! I am beyond grateful!

I was looking for a gym that was close to my house, and that had early morning sessions to fit my schedule. What I didn't expect is an amazing facility, with a fantastic training staff, an owner who cares about every single one of his clients on a personal level, and a clientele with that get-it-done attitude to keep me motivated. I am the kind of person that needs a trainer to tell me what to do, to push my limits, and take an interest in my health and fitness goals. I feel like Kisar (the owner) is always trying to improve the classes by bringing in new and fresh ideas to the table, which is great, considering I really enjoy challenges. And if you work out with him, be prepared to get REKT. That guy pushes you to your limits, every time!! Burntown also has nutrition programs to help you kick start your journey. And the trainers... can't be spoken about highly enough. Each one is FANTASTIC and adds their own flavor and style to their classes (s/o to Emily who has a booming/motivating voice, who takes time to correct my form and lets me know if something looks to easy for me). I love a gym that takes time to learn about each members goals, and help them achieve them. And I love a great community that supports one another, and you get that here with Burntown!

She started me…read moreoff so well that I was able to step right into a bigger box when she and co-owner/husband, Ben, moved to Oregon. Due to the driving distance being "only" 2.5 hours, I went to their current box once for a memorial WOD, in August, 2013. The facility is spacious and the equipment new. The layout is well-planned and efficient. There is only one restroom, but I never saw anyone waiting in line ;) They have a challenging 800m run course that goes uphill! Coaching is fantastic. I didn't work out under Ben too much back in their garage box, but he provided me with the support and positive critiques on my visit here, that I expect from CrossFit coaching. He's very motivational and yet cognizant of physical limitations (I have a bad shoulder). Lyndi is still as great a coach as always, too. She has a way of inspiring more effort, just when I think I can't do any more. After giving me the basics, she has continued to applaud my progress on Facebook - a friend as well as a coach. :) Community - as I said, I was only here once for a memorial WOD, but I met several people who were friendly and encouraging, cheering for each other (and me). I would imagine they are like that with their fellow athletes on a regular basis. I wish I had been able to go WOD with Lyndi and Ben more, but will always be thankful for their introduction to CrossFit that set me on a lifelong path of functional fitness. If you have never tried CrossFit, don't short yourself - go do it! Someone might look at me, a 58-year-old woman with a bad shoulder, and not think it advisable to do such extreme workouts. The key is in the coaching! The key is in how CrossFit can be scaled to give the best results for each individual, no matter your fitness level, age, or physical limitations. At CrossFit PFB, you will get healthier and do things you never imagined you could do.
