Loved this place! Ambiance was very conducive to peace. Instructors were very attentive and looked as if they practiced the walk.

What are the locker rooms like? Are there nice, clean showers? Is there a nice, clean, well-lit area with mirrors for getting reassembled after class?

The positive energy from the group that filled the room and her insightful instruction is exactly why I like to include studio yoga into my practice. I thought I had found my new "yoga home." And then I came to Angela's class, which is why I urge you to stay away. Angela is the worst yogi, and quite possibly even a horrible person...and she owns this place. First, she didn't like my mat, or where I placed my mat, or which side of the mat I was using and proceeded to try to sell me a mat. Uhhh... Then, as I came into my first down dog she snaps at me to stop moving, so I froze. Then she proceeded to come and touch me on every pose! She didn't know me! She didn't ask me! She didn't know my body! To her credit, she may have assumed that I wanted to get really deep into each pose because it is obvious that I have practiced before, but after hiking that day I was a little sore/tired, and wanted to take it easy. I listen to my body and don't force poses. The penultimate straw was when, on my third down dog, she came and drove my heels into the mat! Drove.my.heels.into.the.mat. I flipped over and asked her to stop, and that her touch felt critical...she said "fine" and marched around the room loudly saying how she is showing us how to do things correctly and how important it is for her to touch, blah, blah. It felt so hostile! So hostile, in fact, that I rolled up my mat and left...after only 8 minutes. If you look at the website, she violated all of her own tenets. I'd like to say my story is unique, but I felt compelled to write this review after swapping Angela horror stories at the Thirsty Woman with some folks I had just met. So join Root Down at your own risk, and/or only take classes from Victoria and Jen. Namaste.

The vaulted ceilings and the expansive bamboo floors create an open, grounding atmosphere, while the warm natural light pouring through the oversized windows frames incredible views of the gorge. It feels like the studio itself is alive, breathing with the rhythm of the practice. From the very beginning, I felt so welcomed and nurtured by the amazing instructors. Each teacher brings their own unique gifts and style to the studio, and the owner not only encourages this diversity -- she celebrates it. This openness and acceptance are what make Yoga Samadhi truly special. The warmth and care I felt from day one weren't just my experience; I've since realized that everyone who walks through the studio's doors -- whether a first-timer or an experienced yogi -- is welcomed in the same way. Nestled on the quaint Main Street of White Salmon, Yoga Samadhi has a magical way of making you feel seen and accepted exactly as you are -- young or old, big or small, pink, green, or rainbow. It's a place where everyBODY belongs. Since that first day, I've practiced for countless hours, attended every teacher's class, and even completed Yoga Samadhi's teacher training program. Now, I'm honored to teach in the very place that became my home. The door is always open -- come as you are, from wherever you are today. Step inside, soak up the beautiful energy, and just breathe.

Sarah was an absolute asset to my birth experience. This pregnancy was as a surrogate, which…read morerequired me to give birth in a hospital, so I knew I needed a coach and an advocate. My first and only other birth of my daughter, was attended by 2 midwives at home and was the best day of my life. So, I hired Sarah and Charli for their doula services and was comfortable with either attending, just happy I knew them and they understood me and my birth plan. Sarah showed up at our house right when the contractions kicked in. She guided me through them and made the call when it was time to walk to Providence Hospital. Along with my husband riding our cargo bucket bike and 9-year old daughter walking with me, we walked the 1/2 mile to the hospital, stopping every minute or two for me to lean against her and have a contraction. She provided me with shelter and guidance. When we got to the hospital, I was taken up to the birth center and learned I was 5 cm dilated and felt a sense of accomplishment. The final 5 occurred over 3 hours between the tub and the yoga ball in the bathroom. Sarah was my crutch during the hardest ones. My family doctor, who knew my birth plan well, showed up and they, along with the nurses, worked together to let me know it was time to get on the bed and push. I squatted in reverse on the bed, holding tight to the railings. With every push, I could feel baby Penelope make her way through the birth canal, with intense pressure. I asked Sarah to guide me through the ring of fire so I wouldn't tear. We took it slow, allowing the head to crown, stop, head halfway out and back in, stop, head out, stop, shoulder out, stop, arm out, stop and then her body fell gracefully to the bed between my legs. I scooped her up, the nurses helped me untangle from the cord so I could turn around and sit with her. They toweled Penelope off, I scooted over and her new mama came over crying and sat next to me and I got to hand over the most beautiful thing in the world to the person who had wanted her most. I looked up at the room and everyone was smiling and taking in the moment, including Sarah. This was the most magical day of my life. I can't recommend her and Charli enough. Having a doula or midwife is a serious luxury in giving birth and I also attribute my fast recovery (casually walking and biking within a week) to them. I needed no epidural, emergency treatments or stitches.

I've worked alongside Hearth & Home midwifery as a birth photographer, so I've gotten to witness…read moretheir approach to client care from a different perspective and it's hard to put into words the attention and tenderness they give to a laboring woman (so you should definitely look at these pictures!) I had the honor of documenting their work as midwives, their gentle touch, their commitment to asking for consent every time they have to check the heartbeat, their quick thinking in moments of uncertainty, their competency and their overall gentle nature and amazing personalities. It's important to consider all of these things when inviting somebody into your birth space and especially when choosing a provider to help you bring your baby earthside. I would not hesitate to recommend them to anybody considering a homebirth. And I can't wait to work with them again!
