Country fried steak with brown gravy.

Had a fabulous dinner tonight at The Trails Restaurant & Lounge. Our waitress, Krista, took good care of us and recommended our dinner tonight. She was very knowledgeable and friendly. My country friend steak with brown gravy was off the charts. You can definitely tell it's homemade. The breading was DELICIOUS! For dessert, we had the Brownie Tower and the cream brûlée. Both were delicious and gone! The brownie at the bottom of the brownie tower was cooked perfectly. It was warm, cooked right, and topped with ice cream. Just get it!

Grilled chicken diner with loaded baked potato, pork chop dinner with mashed potatoes + brown gravy.

My husband and I went during a busy time on a holiday and received just as good of service as any other time we go. This is our regular date night and we are never disappointed. Staff is friendly and food is good, as are prices.

This spot is a gem & has some really fabulous potential! Give it a try! We were surprised to see some lower reviews but are glad we went anyway! We will definitely be returning! Everything we ordered was excellent: hot, perfectly cooked, & flavorful. Our waitress, Ava was friendly, helpful & attentive. Compliments to the chef. We highly recommend the drunken chicken & Diablo pasta. There is a cool, albeit funky vibe here: high end lodge meets 50's diner somehow. The decor has some eclectic elements, complimented by nostalgic radio play. Eat, shop, support local, folks! It's nice to have a place like this in the community!

Pretty good for a small town steakhouse. Steak was really well prepared and a good cut.

Good food, good service. Best onion rings I have had in awhile. They are battered not breaded.

However, what I didn't expect was 5 star food and service. The food is outstanding and the portions are huge. Probably one of the best Ribeye steaks, I have ever had. The server said it was cut that morning. The meat was thick and juicy and cooked exactly the way I ordered it. The steak fries were were seasoned and equally very good. The meal comes with a huge salad that has all the trimmings. My wife had the salmon which she said was the best she has ever eaten. The baked potato was epic also. They have a great craft beer selection and a full bar. The service was friendly, professional, and prompt. The prices were very reasonable considering the amount of food that you get. Overall, a fantastic meal.

Bartender was fantastic, she was also the manager as I learned later, and her husband was the chef and daughter waited tables. I just ordered a couple appetizers and a beer, but the whole atmosphere and friendly people made the visit worth it. Food was great and served very quickly. Everyone checked on me regularly and good conversation was had by all. They allowed me to stay and continue watching the game (until it went into overtime) as they cleaned up for the evening getting ready to close. I must so, Lewiston is a dead town in the winter!!

I had asked for some ranch along with my sandwich, and she said she needed to get the other orders and she would come back. She never did. My Dad's friend ordered the chicken club without bacon. He received his sandwich and I thought he was eating healthy for a second and my dad commented that he thought he got a sandwich. My Dad's friend thought he did too, and I looked back at the menu and sure enough it does say it's supposed to come on a bun. There was no bun at all, but being older, he didn't want to send it back as we were already eating. We also observed the waitress, kind of put down another patrons, lunch plate, a little aggressively, and the patron was kind, but couldn't believe it. I have no idea if she was having a bad day so I can have Grace on that, but when you're in the public eye, Customer Service is scary much noted. My food was tasty. I would've loved to try their ranch with my onion rings, but she never came back to ask me that. We did hear a couple other of the patrons ask for mayonnaise and I don't know if they got that. We were there for a seminar, so we observed people in a small (there were 16 of us). I love the interior of Ernie's! It was my first time, so I was impressed by the decor and space. On our way out, there was a sign that said exit and it was the shortest way to the front door, but the same waitress told me to go all the way around. My elderly father has trouble walking so we took our time, and as soon as we made it to the front door, I witnessed a couple other people who were in our seminar go the way I had initially wanted to go, and no one told them otherwise. Overall, the food was good (my dad's friend would've liked it as a sandwich and not a "cut with fork and knife" situation) and the atmosphere was great, but the service was mid, at best.

It's nice enough for a special occasion, but casual enough for family dining. The menu has been trimmed down, keeping some old favorites, and adding some new offerings. The staff was welcoming and very professional. The waiter (Joey) was attentive, yet not intrusive. The "Smoke on the Clearwater" cocktail presentation was stunning! I'm just sorry I didn't think to take a photo. It wasn't my standard drink, but I liked it very much. My friend ordered a custom cocktail and was very pleased with it. My friend ordered the Seared Sea Scallops served with Risotto, which she enjoyed very much. I ordered a Ribeye Steak. It was cooked exactly as I requested, but unfortunately, it was not tender, so I hardly ate any of it. After offering a substitute entree, (which I didn't accept because I was already pretty full), the waiter took it off the bill with his regrets. For dessert: The House Carrot Cake, and a Lemon Bar, both of which were beautifully presented with a sprinkling of gold foil. Generous portions and quite good. I hope the word gets around that this updated version of an old favorite is worth checking out. I am looking forward to my next visit!

I could forgive the high price if the food quality matched, but it doesn't. It's possible that the handheld items are better than the entrees, since customers seemed to be happy with their onion rings and sliders, but the entrees were disappointing. I tried the steaks, which were over cooked and lacked salt. The best thing on the plate was the potato cake, and for a $56 -$52 price range i was left disappointed. The server explained the steaks are sous vide and all come out the same temp. Not everyone likes the same temp, and at the prices listed you should have an option to choose. Hopefully the menu is worked out and food quality improved, but if I were to go again I think I would stick to the bar and grab a cocktail.
