My fourth time eating here. The potatoes and gravy are my favorite; they are known for them. Extremely affordable and delicious. Cute place where everything inside doesn't looked changed in 50 years. All are locals inside and everyone is polite and friendly. Under new ownership, so I'm excited to see how they might add a personal touch to the menu/place. Your classic greasy spoon. Dining area isn't huge but Excellent friendly service and the food was cheap and good and came out quick. Had the full order of biscuits and gravy, coffee, home fries. Wife had the omelet with ham, cheese, toast and a half order of biscuits and gravy and a Diet Coke. All of that for under $20 before tip. Biscuits were soft and buttery. Gravy wasn't as spicy as I was hoping but I know a lot of places don't spice things like they used to. Also someone order off the lunch menu at 9:30 in the morning so was surprised to see that. This place has a positive local diner feel. The waitresses are very friendly. Self seating and we were able to sit down quickly. Food was delicious and my whole family enjoyed their meal. I've heard a lot of good things about the place over the years and I've been a handful of times. The current times dictate cleanliness, masks and more cleanliness. That wasn't the case this past weekend. First, the "grandson" used the same dirty rag to wipe down every table, without rinsing it off. He just wiped a table, and then put it on the counter, and repeat. He wasn't wearing a mask and served peoples drinks, and didn't wash his hands. The ultra friendly server was not wearing a mask either. She handled food, money, the dirty rag, to go drinks, it's like they don't believe anything is happening. The food was plain, bland and mostly didn't taste like anything. The clientele is redneck loudmouths who thought it was hilarious to yell cusswords. I'm sure I won't go back. Prices were cheap (so was the food) and the server was amazingly friendly and attentive. Quit pretending like the rules don't apply to you because you don't believe it's happening. Husband said pancakes tasted like a cheaper mix was used. Coffee didn't come with real creamer. Not my idea of old-fashioned home cooking. Staff was friendly. Total was $15, which was very reasonable. There's a much better breakfast option in town. And honestly, anything I make at home is better. So, we don't plan to return. Restaurant was super crowded and it was hard to find an open table. Service was a little slow due to the number of people and a little frustrating that people coming in after us got waited on first. Appears the regulars get treated better than those they don't know, but still very friendly. Food was ok, but it was large portions and not expensive. We did not know it was a cash only business until we tried to check out after breakfast and leave. Didn't notice any postings about cash only, maybe I missed it. Perhaps it's just me but we don't carry much actual cash any more. Will probably not be returning due to cleanliness issues.
