Since I've been trying to limit trips out of the home, I've found that its fresh vegetables I run out of most quickly. So getting a weekly box has been perfect. I also ordered a month's supply of frozen meat and it's a huge amount, with beef, pork, and chicken. I actually started using Our Harvest Cooperative maybe 3 years ago but stopped for a time because pick up wasn't fitting in my schedule. I'm really glad to be back at it. The vegetables are always fresh, with a thoughtful variety too - rotating zucchini and tomatoes right now so we don't get bored of just one thing. They also give us basil, chives, parsley, so that also helps with recipes and staying out of the store. Lastly, I wanted to give a shout out to the staff and volunteers with Our Harvest - one more than one occasion they've reached out to me to make something more convenient for me if there was a hiccup. I have also visited the farm and I was given a tour and felt like they were excited I was there, rather than a nuisance. I definitely recommend this community supported agriculture, or CSA organization.

This is the 2nd year that I've done u-pick at Schaefer's Farm Market & CSA. Their berries were…read morebeautiful and ripe! In under an hour, I picked over 12 pounds of strawberries, giving me 16+ half pints of strawberry jam. Every time I had a question, either over the phone or in person, they were more than kind. Their service is super friendly and always with a smile (even when it's freezing cold out and they're sitting in a truck to work with the u-pick hours). If ever you're looking for a place to pick your own berries, I highly recommend Schaefer's!

This is an amazing beautiful farm near my home. Take a drive on a day with the sun shining, your…read morewindows down, through the rolling hills of Indian Hill...gape at the estates, the beautiful countryside, and then arrive, surprisingly, at the entrance to this gorgeous organic farm. Drive slowly down the gravel driveway, and as you approach, you realize you are truly somewhere special. Exotic chickens roam free, a beautiful horse (Clydesdale?) grazes behind a barn. Chicken houses, signs pointing out different growing areas, all so lovely and peaceful. Go inside the barn, open the fridges, pick out what's fresh, and put your money in the pail. They also take checks if you don't have cash! Our favorites are the eggs (brown), kale, shitake mushrooms... It's truly an immersive experience while you are picking out your produce, etc. If you can't make it to the farm (which you really should someday), find their stand at the Madeira Farmer's Market.

It's hard to believe this peaceful farm exists less than a half hour from downtown Cincy! Gretchen runs the farm and is always so kind and patient! I don't have a farming bone in my body, but Gretchen has taught me so much already! By the end of the season, with her help, I'll be a pro! The farm also occasionally holds various events like classes, festivals, weed dating (yup!), and dinners. It's a great space! The farm stand just opened for the season and you can check it out Fri 6-8, Sat/Sun 10-2. Oh! And the Garlic Festival is this June! Be sure to come down for that! See you on the farm :)

A working farm and store, open to public tours and events…read more We attended a wedding reception at Gorman Heritage Farm just north of Cincinnati, and we loved the farm! There are animals to visit and a small store with eggs, honey, produce, pasture-raised chicken, other local foods, fresh-cut flowers, and various books, clothing, and merchandise. For our event, they put up a huge tent, so we had breezy shaded dining. This was next to another covered structure, for a breezy shaded dance-floor. And there was a food-truck bar as well. In all, a clever use of their space for a fun comfortable event. We had access to their farm for self-tours, and i think there were guided tours and feedings, too, but we walked ourselves among and petted and brushed and fed the humped mini "zebu" steer, non-wooly Katahdin sheep, goats, mini horses, a mini donkey, mules, about six of rabbits of different kinds, and chickens. And beehives! We were there for a special event. The Gorman Heritage Farm is open to the public Mon-Sat for under $8 per person. Come see fun farm animals and products!

Over the past many years, I have purchased their produce from the Oxford Farmer's Market and been a member of their CSA. I believe you can find them at the Eaton Market these days, or you can visit their farm store just north of Eaton. Expensive, you say? Well, unlike McDonald's and Wal-Mart, Boulder Belt is not subsidized by the government. This is the cost of healthy, tasty food.
