Soup Beans with Cornbread, Onions and Peppers. Side Salad with Ranch.

I found out about Mom's when Mom visited our deli. Mom's Restaurant turned out to be exactly what I had been looking for sinceiving to Ohio 10 years ago. I absolutely loved the soup beans and cornbread. The kids had a Mickey Mouse pancake and French toast. Everybody lives it!! I can't wait to get back and try the omelettes. Mom is super nice, she gave the grandkids two pieces of gum for giving her a hug. I'm definitely going to make this a frequent dining option.

I am a sucker for local mom and pop restaurants and this is one in Franklin. I love how they support our schools and town. Make sure to get there early they are usually packed with a line. The parking is great plenty and attached go a gas station. The menu is large and offers breakfast and lunch. I love the soup beans. The boys had a great breakfast prior to kicking off there baseball season with plenty of packages and sausage if you do decide to eat here no it's super cheap.prices buy great quality of food and they only take cash

Had breakfast here today. It was fabulous. For 10.00 I had 2 Eggs, bacon, home fries and biscuits and gravy. I added sausage and grits. It was sooo good. Mom even stopped by to say hi. Don't miss this gem hidden away in Frankin OH

A classic diner. Mom's is an institution. Best for breakfast, ok for lunch. CASH ONLY.

Great place for a real home cooking meal. Don't expect a fast food pace. It takes awhile for your meal.

It was nearly 12:00 noon with only one server who was working her but off to keep up and let me tell you she did. She was the only one in the dining area and did an amazing job. I don't know what they pay her but it isn't enough. She was around my age and probably in her 60's. She rocked it and it would probably take a half a dozen of this newer generation to even come close to taking care of the same amount of people. She brought me my drink and in no time my pizza came out. I was shocked to see the size of these two slices and immediately knew that I would need a box for a slice. The pizza was my go to pepperoni and sausage which had plenty of sauce which I like. The pepperoni was delicious and kind of crispy with I like. The sausage was delicious as well and had a nice Italian spice to it. I was pleased by the taste of the sauce which had a slight zing to it. Not a spicy zing, but a pleasant zing. After I had my slice my server brought me a box to take the second piece home in. I will be delighted to have it again tomorrow. Don't pass this one up because I think most would appreciate the flavor and atmosphere.

La Embajada La…read moreEmbajada is an Argentine Steakhouse, mobile kitchen and catering venture in Dayton, Ohio, that specializes in Argentinean, Italian and Spanish cuisine - nearly fine dining. We arranged to arrive ten minutes early in order to converse with Mónica Fabregat. Well worth the planning and effort. Mónica was delighted to learn that we have visited Argentina and experienced the people, cuisine, beauty, and various wineries. I had to ask Monica if she had visited Bariloche. Bariloche is located in the foothills of the Patagonian Andes on the southern shore of Nahuel Huapi Lake, near the border with Chile. Aspen, Colorado, is the most frequent U.S. city comparison for Bariloche due to its shared identity as a premier, upscale mountain resort destination. Both cities are famous for high-end skiing, luxury lodges, and a sophisticated, "ritzy" atmosphere that attracts wealthy international travelers. Beyond Aspen, Bariloche is often compared to other U.S. mountain and outdoor-centric locations for different reasons. Monica explained that "Argentine cuisine is primarily the union of food from our two biggest immigrant populations, Spain and Italy," Throughout the menu, Spanish and Italian influences are easy to spot, from espresso, pastas and flatbreads to empanadas, Argentine sausages and chorizos. La Embajada is a small, nicely decorated, pleasant restaurant - Qualifies as a Date Night with your wife, and my wife greatly approves. Service is excellent. YELP is always a must consult for us, and folks have consistent posted 5 Star reviews. We always take care to download the menu prior to dining. The Dictator Steak caught my eye the previous night, and I asked Monica which steak she recommends. Her reply was the Dictator Steak - a 30 day aged Ribeye. Difficult to find a 30 day aged Ribeye in the Dayton market. Monica then offered a nice Cabernet Sauvignon; I immediately declined and Monica smiled - she then offered a Malbec. Sorry, I forget the label, but very often we order a Malbec rather than a Cabernet Sauvignon. The single flaw (not the restaurant's doing) was the appearance of 14 young parents and very young children without reservations.... Folks do some minimal research - No one suddenly appears at an upscale restaurant in a group this size without reservations. During our three week Overseas Adventure Travel visit, we experienced a winery every day, and we came to favor Malbec. Malbec is a dark, full-bodied red wine grape known for its deep color and rich, fruity flavors like plum and blackberry, with notes of vanilla, cocoa, and tobacco, especially when aged in oak. Originally from France, where it's a key Bordeaux blending grape, it has become the signature grape of Argentina, thriving in high-altitude vineyards and producing wines with soft tannins and balanced acidity, making it a classic pairing for grilled meats like steak. My wife specified the Mixed Grill and the Seafood Bowl; Paella-style rice with shrimp, mussels, calamari and octopus. Of course, our plan was to enjoy "leftovers" at home, and we did. I observed to Monica that often in Buenos Aires steak restaurants place a live fire BBQ with steak in the front window; she knew about this and replied this would violate fire code in US. She observed these were higher priced restaurants for tourist, and I agreed. I found in Buenos Aires, by walking a few blocks, a similar menu was available for 50% less. Caveat: Go to La Embajada as soon as possible and do visit Bariloche when in Argentina.

These were more like a steak fry cut than wedges, but man alive were they good. An actual fresh cooked sweet potato. I choose that option often and these were the absolute best I have ever tasted. The burgers were excellent though they use leaf lettuce instead of iceberg. I took the barrel sauce on the side. It is a spicy ketchup aioli and went well on the burger and for dipping potatoes. I also got some mayo on the side, happy to report no charge on that as some places do. The Reuben balls were out of this world. Plenty of meat, cheese and kraut with the proper amount of crunchy breading. I could even taste caraway so it was just like mini hot Reuben sandwiches. All the above food items are highly recommended. Looking at the redesigned menu it seems they want to stress restaurant over bar which is as it should be with this quality of food. The atmosphere would be enhanced in my opinion if the staff dressed up a bit. They were all extremely casually dressed. The main dining room is all tables; if you want a booth there are a few at the rear of the bar side. They have a good sized outdoor space, but a view of Central Avenue in Middletown does not really grab me. There were a lot of people dining outside. Our waitress was very enthusiastic about the food - with good reason- and answered many questions. She checked on us appropriately though the food was delivered by other people. I don't like that practice. There was one wrinkle, my husband wanted the baked potato but his burger showed up with fries. The correct item came shortly, with apologies, and we got to keep the fries too! We will gladly return and you should too.
