I found the shawarma sample to be on the dry side. Ambiance: I will admit I almost didn't go inside, based on the exterior. All the graphics and posters remind me of restaurants on the Detroit border, where they are trying to entice people in, in dubious areas. I get they want people to see the food, but it'd be nice to see more of the interior, which reminds me more of a deli. The food was amazing! So glad to have found a place in this area that has such good falafel! We got the falafel wrap and bowl and both were so filling and flavorful. All of the sauces add the perfect touch to the falafel! I used to recommend this place to my friends all the time. Last time we went in there it was just filthy sneeze guard had grease all over it, tables were dirty, and I went to pick up my tray off the counter and it's stuck to the counter. The concept is a make your own bowl with toppings and meat, similar to popular Mexican places. We decided to get bowls, which are HUGE. Started with rice and chicken. They have various hot toppings and lots of cold toppings like cucumbers, tomatoes, feta cheese, onions and lettuce. You finish up with sauces, which the garlic and tzatziki were recommended. The bowl was great and I ended up bringing half home. Chicken wasn't dry. While in line, they offered us a falafel to try. It was very good. You can taste the herbs, which was a nice change from others I have tried. The hummus can be customized. We let the gentleman behind the counter customize it with chickpeas, parsley, almonds, garlic oil and hot sauce. The presentation was very thoughtful and you can tell he takes pride in the product. While we were eating, he came to check on us and brought a plate of Turkish salad, which we had never tried. Wow! So flavorful! Chunks of veggies with a kick of heat. It's a new restaurant so maybe there's some growing pains. They're incredibly slow and so they need to work on their process. Part of the problem is they keep running back and forth to the kitchen to get more food. They need to have someone do that constantly because once their "line" stops, everyone else is waiting. So the person at the end of the food line should be in charge rather than the person at the start which creates a bottleneck. The other issue is the pita bread station is at the beginning but they don't warm up until the end... so that's another weird inefficiency ... at least for those that order hummus. Also, at the time, they didn't have pepper and onions (aka fajitas) which happens... but the guy was scrapping crusty onions off the pan ... after I told him I'd wait for the fresh ones. It was kind of unappetizing for the scrapings. Now to the food... the beans were canned. The shawarma tasted like Swedish meatballs from IKEA or the frozen section... it wasn't, I saw them slicing it through the door. The chicken had good flavor. The hummus needed more seasoning and tahini. The pita bread was pre-made and came from a package. Basically, there's a lot of pre-made, processed, and pre-packaged food. The only thing that was fresh seemed to be the meats, fajitas, the rice and maybe the hummus (but probably made from canned chickpeas). They also messed up soda lines. Coke was actually Diet Coke. We asked for more pita bread but they forgot about us. Also, for some reason they didn't want to sell us more. We kept asking, we were willing to buy it. Two pitas for a large hummus order isn't enough. We also like to eat it as part of our regular meal. They also got confused about our order. There was three of us but we had to tell them AT LEAST four times that we had three bowls and they kept splitting the order during checkout. That was part of the pita issue, at first they thought we were only ordering pita bread but ... no we were ordering three bowls and a large order of hummus. It was aggravating. There's a lot of work that needs to be done. I don't think this place will last long if it continues the way it does. The people were friendly and did TRY hard. read more

This is my first time visit. The restaurant was immaculate. The ambience is casual. The men serving the order counter were friendly and efficient. The menu is big enough that most people will find something that works for them. I certainly did. Sizes were very good and the prices were fair. The beef/lamb gyro was moist and tender. Note that if you like feta cheese on the gyro make sure you ask for it. I thought the fries were OK thus (four stars versus five) but not great. They were lukewarm Vs hot. I also thought they could have added more toppings and mixed it throughly. Not a complaint because the following is a personal preference. I prefer it when restaurants serve greek fries with a "steak cut fry" versus the normal cut. I will be back for sure. read more

This place is the "Chipotle" of Middle Eastern foods. I love their "bowl" concept. Plenty of great, high quality foods to try. Options are practically endless. What brings me back to this place is that their food is really tasty and the service is outstanding! I've been here twice and the second time, they remembered me. I'm very impressed with the flavor of their rice, the peas and carrots, their Turkish salad (beware: there's a good spicy kick to it) and their fresh toppings. I Love pickled turnips and pomegranate molasses and they had both! Their hummus is excellent especially if you get it loaded. Trust me, do it. The location isn't too bad: tucked in next to a dentist with lots of parking and plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. You definitely got a regular customer in me. I'm a great fan. After 2 months of driving past, I finally had an opportunity to eat here. The ambiance is rather cold with a boring black and white tiled floor contrasted with beaded gold light fixtures. Orders are taken at a counter and there is no table service. There is an outdoor seating area, but it appears to be an uninviting fenced off portion of the parking lot. Upon arrival, the owner offered me and my friends complimentary falafel. It was tasty, but not my preferred Mediterranean food. The menu is simple, yet offers ample options. The primary entrees are sandwiches/wraps and a "build you own" bowl. I opted for the bowl with rice, Gyro meat, corn, kidney beans, fajita veggies, cream peas and carrots, tomatoes, diced cucumbers (which they call "pickles"), black olives, feta cheese, Turkish salad, and tzatziki sauce. One of my friends ordered a small chicken sandwich combo (with fries and a drink) and the other got a small gyro. All the portions were generous (especially my bowl) and nearly everything had great flavor (although the kidney beans were a little bland). I particularly loved the gyro meat which seemed very fresh and well seasoned, the cream peas and carrots, and the Turkish salad. They were kind enough to give me a sample of an item that I had never seen before (cream peas and carrots). It would be helpful to have labels on the "build your own" ingredients to help novice customers identify items by name. My only other complaints are that I requested water to drink, but they never gave me a water cup or directed me to the self serve stand up cooler for a bottled water. My entire order was under $15, however since I didn't receive a receipt, I wasn't sure if I had paid for a bottled water or not. I later reminded them that I requested water and they handed me a water cup. BTW, this is the second new restaurant in this area that doesn't provide itemized receipts. I'm beginning to wonder if this is intentional to prevent customers from knowing when they've been "up charged", if it's just bad customer service, or if they're just trying to "save a tree". Either way, I hope that these places will change their ways and at least offer an itemized receipt. Heck, Dayton is the birthplace of the cash register isn't it? As a result, I would hope that retailers in this area would have good point of sale manners and provide a receipt. read more

Today I had a bowl with long-grain yellow rice, chicken shawarma, cucumbers, tomatoes, chickpeas, pickled turnips (yum!), feta cheese, corn, fajita onions and peppers, all covered with a mixture of their garlic sauce and tzatziki.
