Second visit here and unfortunately it was not a pleasant experience. I came in planning to purchase several items, including gifts for Christmas, but was repeatedly told not to touch anything because "things will fall." Being spoken to like a child was uncomfortable and unnecessary -- I know how to handle merchandise, and I am fully capable of paying for anything if it were to fall or break. The attitude and overall energy from the staff member were rude enough that I ultimately decided not to buy anything. I came ready to support this business, but customer service matters, and based on how I was treated, I will not be returning. read more

He could be a little more friendly! But I came looking for something specific and found it. This is a nice size store with old video games and action figures and comic books amongst other things! If he were more outgoing, my experience would have been a 10/10. He just seems a grumpy nothing to note specifically. Just PLEASE don't record or take pics, although it is very tempting! read more

Greeted by the owner he was super nice and welcoming. Answered all our questions we had. Great selection tons of fun things you could go all the time and find something new you wanted. I took my 3 year old here and just like any store with fragile things told her not to touch and we had a great time looking at everything. She had fun shopping the bags of figurines in the back. Massive selection for a tiny store. The employee was super nice. Overall I ended up buying 3 action figures! Edit: I thought I had gotten Superman, katana, and Adam Strange. Turns out I mistook classic StarMan for Adam. Anyways here's how I fixed that. read more

Absolutely terrible store experience with a guy, not sure if he is the owner, who is as mean as everyone claims. Terrible attitude and customer service. Went here a few years ago and bought an Adam Computer in the box and had no problems. Went there on 5/18/24 and before we could even start to look, told us not to touch anything and just look. Something was off about the whole experience and I walked out the store. My two friends came out shortly after and we left without buying anything with no plans to go back. Went down the street to a comic book store with statues and the experience was 100% better. I would advise you to stay away from this place at all cost. Rude customer service. Don't you dare leave anything out of order, or this guy will accuse you of wasting everyone's time all day. My friend, a alternately abled adult, left some gamecube games out of order. I always put things back in order when this happens. Before I had a chance to do that, this guy says "just because there around the corner, you don't get to leave a mess". I apologize and offer to put them back where they go, like I was planning anyway. He declined that offer, and says "what do you guys do, just waste everyone's time all day?". I went into toy box and was being nice trying to talk with owner ( he had a bad attitude) I asked about Disney DVDS and he said on the bottom right, as I kneeled down I found a couple & one said $10 the other $,2.99 I went up to counter and said $10 is too high for the one dvd, he said $8 & I said how about $5? He (the owner grabbed them out of my hands) i told him ok $8 and i will buy them after being rude!! I got my money out and he opened his mouth one last time being rude to me & said he never had anyone talk him down from $10 on a used DVD. I told him come on now people dont buy DVDS as much now & they go for $1 or $2 .The owner kicked grandma out (told me to leave) buying for the disabled. He should NOT be in the field he is in. I accidentally found this shop. It's locally owned and the owner knows his stuff when it comes to just about any collectors items. He always has great deals on everything. It's an easy to miss little store, but miss it at your own expense. This store has something for everyone! It's not just retro stuff, either. He has a bit of everything! Ryan's place is the best toy/gaming collectible shop around. I've been going to his place for years and finding the best vintage toys always in excellent condition. I recently introduced my girlfriend to his store and now she's hooked too. One thing that sets Ryan's store apart from many others is you can actually touch many of the toys before you buy them. Only some of the more rare toys are behind glass or high out of reach of small hands. He also does an excellent job keeping his stock clean and rotated often. When you go, be sure to check areas below your knees because that's where you'll find most of the vintage games and toys. read more

I just moved here from Japan and I was thrilled to find this store only a few blocks from my house! I absolutely love it. The owner is really cool and helpful and there is plenty of neat things that are all reasonably priced. As a huge Metal Gear Solid fan I was really excited to purchase the original Metal Gear and Snake's Revenge for NES. Ryan runs a great little shop in Lacey. Straight up dude with all kinds of goodies in the shop. G1 Transformers, action figures, lots of video games. The location is a little weird to get to because it's right outside a round about but definitely worth a stop if you're in the south sound and looking for something for that geek in your life. read more

I just discovered this place and I'm so glad I did. Their selection is so immensely impressive. I have been collecting action figures and comic books for over 3 decades. So I am kinda picky. Toy Box Collectables checks off all the boxes for me. It practically has action figures from floor to ceiling. Loose and mint on card/box.They also have a great selection of Lego and video games. First time there, noticed a bad smell immediately as I walked thru the door, not sure what it was but lingered for the whole 30 minutes I was there. It's a very small shop, and with 3-4 other customers inside, there was not much room for maneuvering around but I figured I'd give it a shot. Prices are about average - inflated for what you'd find elsewhere. I found what I wanted, purchased it and left. The next time I was there, I was searching through the $1 bin on the shelf, looking for action figures, plucking figures out 1 by 1, placing on the shelf above, searching for specific figures, when the owner, I presume, got agitated I was putting the action figures up on the next shelf, said "don't put those up on that shelf, it will collapse". I asked if there was another box I could use, "No"! What happened to helping the customer? Ok, I'm done, I wanted to buy, but now will never return. Tip: If you don't want people searching thru your bins of toys, dont make it public. If your shelves are so fragile and ready to collapse from toy weight, you got bigger problems, like lawsuits buddy. I will never return again because there are so many more professional businesses that offer the same product, larger establishment, better customer service and prices. Hey owner, try getting off the computer/phone when a customer comes in. You lost $250 in sales today cause of your attitude/customer service skills. Good luck to you. read more

It's clear from the Owner's response that he could use a little work in the customer relations department and sharpen his business acumen. Referring to me as "nut job", "unibomber", and being unable to "misinterpret two syllable words" is sad to see for somebody trying to be an entrepreneur and support a family. I didn't bang on his door and my child was with me in the car nearby. He PM'd me about being ashamed that I "fought" (he put it in quotes as an attempt at a slight) for the United States as a soldier. His personal attack against my over two decades of active duty service is also sad to see seeing as we have a fairly large veteran community in Lacey. It doesn't bother me any as I've been to war, I've taken care of critically wounded soldiers and escorted them safely back home and have held their hand during the last minutes of life. I've done quite a lot for our country that this man will never be able to tarnish. Good day sir, I hope you move beyond this personal challenge in your life. read more
