This is a fantastic little boutique toy shop in the heart of downtown Olympia, and it couldn't be more charming! The owner is friendly and helpful, not at all pushy, and seems to take great pride in offering excellent customer service while letting people just enjoy the space! All the proper precautions in this precarious present time are being taken: hand sanitizer at the door, limited capacity, etc. The interior is spacious, and the shelves stocked to the brim, without feeling cramped or crowded. You yourself will feel like a kid again as you wander between the shelves, which are stocked with toys both educational and fun, modern and nostalgic, domestic and imported. Everything you can think of is here: stuffed animals and dolls, board games, musical instruments, books, electronics kits, and so much more! We picked up some stocking stuffers (because, *gasp!*, Christmas is right around the corner!), a family puzzle and some Japanese cat figures, because my wife collects them (what a weirdo! haha!).  If you're looking to purchase something with more enrichment, educational or sentimental value than more of the same old Minecraft and Roblox nonsense, this is the sort of place where you can bring your kids, to light a spark of inspiration and wonder in their imaginations!

Captain Little is a large toy store located in the former space of Wind Up Here. The remodel opened up the area making it much larger than before. The store is full of toys, crafts, and a nice selection of books. When you step inside the business you are greeted by a large robot with flashing eyes. There is a large selection of pretend play toys, blocks, dress up items, and games. For parents who plan on making lunch for their children during the school year there is a whole wall dedicated to reusable lunch sacks, compartmentalized lunch boxes, thermoses, cups, and utensils. My youngest child was enamored by a set of multi color wooden blocks that housed magnets. My oldest child loved the large selection of Squishable toys: spherical plush animals and spherical plush food. All of the products I saw in the store are high quality and are sure to last a long time.

I wish I lived closer to Captain Little! This is a very unique store. They have a wide variety of gifts for a wide variety of ages at a wide variety of prices. You are sure to find something for that little one on your shopping list. On top of that, they gift wrapped my gift for free and did a mighty fine job too! Thanks CL. You rock!

I love little toys, I love old school toys, I love the atmosphere in the store! Prices can be a little high but the toys that you find here are much different than in a conventional toy store exclamation point I found just about everything in a miniature size... It was all I had to walk out of the store and not buy one of those little mini Kewpie dolls! Great customer service and a friendly smile... I may be back when I am in town again!

I popped in here today and was completely wowed by all the cuteness! There are adorable baby items, cool toys for all ages, and some super awesome food storage items. I'm totally addicted to kitchen/food gadgets so it was really hard to not leave with one of everything. My daughter has been asking for a diary and I wanted to find the perfect one for her. I found one here that she absolutely loved. Yes, it cost a bit more than I normally would've spent, but knowing how fitting it was for her little personality made it worth it. I also happened to find a really, really cute tin for the tooth fairy. She loved it! The female sales associate working was very friendly. She greeted me when I came in and then rang up my items when the male associate was too busy wrapping a gift for another customer to even acknowledge my presence. He looked at me. Didn't say a word. I mean, at least ask your coworker to help ya out, pal. For as much as I loved every little thing in here, it is a bit pricey. It's not the kind of place I can come to on a regular basis... For special gifts and occasions only. I will check out the events they host in the store!

Shelves are thoughtfully arranged and beautifully organized, making it easy to wander, browse, and actually find what you're looking for--whether you arrive with a title in mind or simply want to be guided by instinct. The selection is outstanding: carefully curated, diverse, and clearly chosen with intention rather than volume. It's one of those stores where you walk in and immediately lose track of time, in the best way. I could easily spend an entire day here just wandering, browsing, and finding books I didn't even know I needed. The store is clean, well-organized, and has such a welcoming feel. The staff was genuinely friendly and helpful without being overbearing, which made the experience even better. They were happy to answer questions and made us feel comfortable taking our time. There is even coffee! It was a really nice outing with my daughter, and we'll definitely be back. This location reminded me why I love bookstores so much. As for the value, it was dependent on the book. My daughter chose a"It" by Stephen King, so the amount she paid for the length of the book made sense to me.

I asked a clerk, whose name was Sky, but they unfortunately didn't have the one I was thinking of. Sky had a band T-shirt on that I knew my friend liked, so I asked them for advice. They pointed me towards a graphic novel series, SAGA, that they would recommend, based on the interests I shared of my friend. They also recommended other journals when I couldn't find the original I wanted, showing me the gothic section. When a journal I picked out ended up being torn, them and a cashier searched up whether there was more in the back, going the extra mile to help me succeed in my task. They listened to my incisiveness, and didn't pressure to add more onto what I thought of. I've been coming here for my Warrior Cat books for over a decade, which they make readily available every date they come out. Even with the layout changes over the years, I always appreciate being able to come in while my family is grocery shopping next door.

If you have a blended family, a family of color, a mixed race family, children who have experienced loss, or children with disabilities--it is easy to find books that represent your child/your family. This is one of the best resources for finding children's books written in languages other than English. They carry bilingual as well. This is nice for children to hear their favorite stories read in more than one language, especially if more than one language is spoken at home. My brother bought The Rainbow Fish written in both Vietnamese and English from this store! De Colores Books carries a wonderful selection of board books so kids who are not-so-gentle with books can enjoy reading time. The space is very friendly for small children. There are toys and plush seating areas. For those of us with mobility issues, the firm chairs placed throughout the store are a very nice addition. The adult reading section is also wonderful. The sheer number of wonderful books available in this small space is astonishing! I was very happy to find The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks, Jame's Baldwin's A Fire Next Time, and Eye on the Prize: The PBS Companion here. My husband loves to look through the novels available in Spanish. Books I noticed that were available in languages other than English included: Spanish, Japanese, Chinese, Korean, and Russian. I'm sure there are more languages! Come on by and ask/look around. This store does not disappoint.
