The orthopedic nurses aid and Physician Assistant i saw, awful. Either the PA Maggie Dent was floridly " unsmart" and lacked the where with all to seek input from her MD colleagues, or she purposely withheld diagnostic , and physical exam treatment . The PA refused to hear anything i told her about my injury and suspicion of a tear of something from kickboxing, did not do a visual or physical inspection of acute area, kept referring to my complaint as my ' hip' pain, even after i corrected her at least 5 times, not my hip my groin. Her diagnosis and treatment option she gave me were 1) hip replacement, or 2), referral to Rheumatology. She assured me nothing was torn and refused to consider MRI to be certain. . SO I went to a sports orthopedic in Fairfax, he ordered MRI , my diagnosis is multiple tears of surrounding muscle tissue, and treatment he sent me to Physical Therapy. Adductor tears. If anyone reading this has anything wrong and needs care, be very wary and do not hesitate to get 2nd opinion outside of the carilion system.

PREFERRED NO STARS AT ALL - HAS TO BE THE WORST COUNSELOR EVER…read more This is the poorest excuse of a counselor I've ever seen. No horror story could be like this experience. I'm worse after seeing this counselor than before. First visit she was trying to finish my sentences; I thought she was trying to rush me because she had another appointment or she thought she knew me well enough to be able to do so. I don't think so! I wanted to be fair so maybe she caught me on an "off" day and decided she deserved another chance. So I kept the second appointment. Second visit, she was still trying to finish my sentences and wouldn't discuss what I felt was my primary issue which is a very stressful work environment. She preferred to discuss my 40 yr marriage and sex life. Okay, this was a lot uncomfortable for me but if she thought this was my issue, I'd see where it took us. Where you ask? She actually advised me to leave my husband. After all these years, like that's even an option I'd entertain. The important fact of my counseling was it's covered under the Employee Assistance Program. my employer was covering my first 5 sessions. So you would think that when FMLA was mentioned she seemed not to understand what that was. How can you participate in a program and not know what it is? Anyway, it came time for the FMLA forms to be sent to my employer's human resources and she said she wasn't comfortable sending the forms into the company. Now understand, this was not for me to be paid for the hours missed while at appointments with her but to keep me from getting occurrences for missing those hours from work. Very simple actually. Well, she wanted to discuss it at our 3rd appointment which was a day later than the forms expected in HR. I left her a voice mail letting her know that, as well as letting her know if my FMLA wasn't approved then I wouldn't be able to miss work to make any more appointments. I got a voice mail saying she faxed the forms in and would see me the next day at my appointment. The next day she emailed me to tell me she wasn't going to schedule any more appointments with me and there was no reason for us to have any further communication. But wait....... she also went as far as literally calling both my work and the company who handles my employer's FMLA. She didn't say why she felt she needed to do this but it was quite obvious it was meant to be vindictive. If she thought I was trying to be sneaky about something, she should have asked me; there was no reason for her to call either my employer or insurance company. Now, I'm worse than I was before. I just hope she took notes so she can have unlimited dinner conversations about me with her friends, if she has any. Yes, I felt her pushing conversations to my marriage and sex as giving her more stories for her dinner conversation. I think her actions were totally unprofessional and will shout it from the rooftops of Grandin Village if only I had a bullhorn. I was going to find another counselor for the next visit anyway, however, this is not the way a professional counselor ends their "relationships". I tell everyone who will lend me an ear about how terrible she is and hope that word of mouth will soon end her career. No crazies, no money, no business. I know I'm a mental mess but at least I know and take responsibility for my actions. I don't think she can say the same about her actions towards me and my mental health. If I knew any other place to could give her a review, I would, just to let others know not to waste their money.

After several visits to this Macado's I decided to finally write a review about this extravagant…read morerestaurant. According to their website, "Macado's started in downtown Roanoke, Virginia, in 1978 and became popular for its eclectic decor and moderately priced food, especially with the college crowd." The chain emphasizes: "a comfortable and enjoyable atmosphere for a diverse clientele, including families."  Today, as I was seated in the booth the Host had brought me to and observing the Macado's logo on the paper napkin laying on my table, I thought to myself: What is the meaning of the "Just to be there" located under the restaurant's name in its logo? And I thought to myself that It's possible "Just to be there" might be a phrase associated with the feeling of camaraderie or the comfortable atmosphere that Macado's aims to provide, and thus a popular spot for people of all ages and social classes to get together, eat, socialize, and be merry. I remember the very first time I ate here. It was for a lunch invitation from a good friend of mine I hadn't seen in a while. The first impression I got of the place was amazing. I loved the building where the restaurant was housed and all the interesting decorations. It was almost completely full from the lunch crowd, yet this provided a warm and cozy feeling knowing that so many people had taken the time to come eat here even though they knew it would be crowded. I was fascinated by the large and extensive menu, and after carefully reviewing it, ordered the Bacon, Egg, and Cheese Burger. It came with half a pound of meat, a soft fresh bun, and a whole bunch of krinkle fries. It was so big and delicious I can't forget how full I was when I finished eating it. Just eating there for the first time and I couldn't wait to return. I had set such high expectations of the place that many of the other times I visited the place I was disappointed. It could have been by the lack of training of the servers on the Knowledge of and explaining menu items, or by the timing on how to serve them. Or it could be by a mistake from the cook in cooking or preparing an item. Like today, I ordered Bang Bang Shrimp as an appetizer and the shrimp arrived overcooked almost to the point of burnt with the Assian Crisp Noodles a bit stale. So much so that I had to ask to see the manager to formally complain. The manager was a friendly young lady who listened to me and admitted the shrimp could have been fried before they had just changed the oil. And she came up with possible solutions to the question: "What can I do to make it right?" Of which I choose for her to not charge me for the burnt shrimp and the bad dining experience they had caused me. I went on and ate the Lone Ranger sandwich with Onion Rings that were cooked right, and because of the manager's handling of the situation in such an effective way, I am sure to return, because there is something about Macado's that makes you want to "Just to be there."
