BISCUIT SCRAMBLED EGG SMOKED CHEDDAR GRAVY w/ BENTON'S BACON
Graham C.

Started our Sunday with brunch at Tomato Head, it had been a while. A good crowd but not enough to create a wait. Our server was good and the everything taste great. I can't get over dropping $20 on biscuit & gravy. Yes, there's a little bacon there and an egg but come on...

Huevos Rancheros
Matthew H.

Added a little Benton's Bacon to this dish. This is a great pairing and presentation of a simple dish. The sauce added only a slight heat to the Tex-Mex dish. This wasn't overly filling and made for a great afternoon meal or late brunch. Definitely one of my favorite Huevos Rancheros that I've ordered.

Kimchi soup was good and not spicy at all. Came w bread.

Fresh sandwiches, a bit small but had alfalfa sprouts which was good. Kimchi soup was the special which was suppose to be a spicy cabbage soup. Flavor was good but not spicy at all.

Farm to table fresh food and lots of options for gluten free, dairy free, nut free, vegan and vegetarian. Great pizza and ambiance to enjoy the food. Always nice people here and a southern comfort!

A calzone and chai tea with honey

The calzones are huge and amazing, they seem pricey. But you are definitely getting your moneys worth. Also I love the tea set up when you ask for it. It's very cute.

Pizza

I was charged $26 for a 9" pizza. Yeah, I did the make your own, but I apparently didn't realize that tomatoes were going to be $3.25 and pesto and walnuts were nearly $3 each. This is outrageous for a 9" pizza, to be honest. The pizza is barely the size of my hand! Lower your prices, Tomatohead!

#9" #13 Pizza (new combination)
Devon B.

I've been several times over the years and it's always amazing service, but the food can sometimes feel overpriced. This past visit though, WOW. $22 for a personal pizza makes me cringe, I can't lie. But the goat cheese, olives, mushrooms, pesto... the whole #13 pizza was a treat. Absolutely worth the (insane) price. They were also very accommodating for my 1.5 year old and our stroller!

One of the parties at our table and they only had enough ribs for the other person so we had to wait 25 minutes or more for rib ribs to come out out of the smoker. They finally just said give it to me to go. The turkey baked potato and coleslaw and sauce that came with the turkey was abundant and tastyM The atmosphere is very loud between all the people and the music. It's an uncomfortable loud. It may be because we went on a Saturday evening and Valentine's Day so I'm not sure how it is during the week or regular Saturday evenings. I would try it again if it weren't as busy that might be why they ran out of some of the food and our party had to wait.

Big Orange BBQ - Vegan Beef Tip Bbq, baked beans, green beans ... all vegan!

I went in thanks to the vegan chef challenge in March 2025. This is a small, local non-chain…read morebusiness located in West Town Mall near the food court area that opened last fall. First, you should know, this is definitely NOT a vegan place, but there are some yummy vegan options for plant-based / vegan eaters who happen to be at the mall or are with a crowd who love BBQ. Keep reading (or skim down) for info on the meat products. The two vegan protein options are both soy-based. Then they are seasoned as either "chicken" or "beef." The beef flavored option was tasty, but the texture was a bit "meh." Only 3-4 stars for that. However I chatted with the owner and suggested he consider smoking the soy product, which would help considerably. As for sides, I chose the green beans, which are also vegan, as well as the vegan version of their baked beans. The green beans were fine ... basic green beans. Nothing special - cooked like a typical southern style cut green beans, just without any meat. The baked beans though ...!!! They are the reason for the 5 stars along with the house-made sauces here- more on those in a bit. These vegan baked beans y'all - SO GOOD! They are **SPICY** sweet with just the right amount of tang. The sauce is thick and the beans are perfectly cooked and seasoned. If you don't mind a little burn with your beans these are a MUST! (My mouth is still tingling an hour later!). I was the only customer in the place, so I sat at the counter and chatted with the owner a bit. He told me his "regular" baked beans are made with pork and a healthy dose of brown sugar. The potato salad is a mustard-style potato salad. And apparently there is an "all meat" dish that comes with heaping portions of ALL the meats, and no sides. They have brisket every day in addition to chicken, pork, and sausage. The menu is small, and if you like greens, ask for them. They aren't on the menu. Even though it's in the mall, this place has a modified smoker in the kitchen and so all their meats are smoked daily with hickory. Next, can we talk about the house-made BBQ sauces? There are just two. They are both tomato based sauces: their house sauce, which is mild, and the hot sauce. The hot sauce is probably more of a medium heat so you definitely won't burn your face off. In fact, the vegan baked beans are spicier. But these sauces have a nice blend of tang and sweetness, with just the right viscosity- thick but easily pourable. Really nice. It's a small place but there are a few tables and some seating at the bar (see the photos). On the counter you'll see the traditionally baked cookies. They have lemon, strawberry, chocolate, red velvet, and the owner's favorite, orange. If you're looking for an alternative to the chain BBQ places around, this is a good option. When you go in, tell the owner you saw this review on Yelp. He doesn't think he'll get much business from here. As a long-time Yelper, that makes me laugh. I would never have gone in there if it wasn't for the vegan challenge promoting them. I don't go to the mall much and this place is worth the visit.

The food is great and the atmosphere is super quaint! Service is amazing!! Left happy and full!read more

I opted for the steak sandwich on an everything bagel and it was delicious! My father was also very impressed with the pastrami Ruben on pumpernickel. I also highly recommend grabbing some custom bagel spread from the cooler and a portion of your favorite babka (I vote for chocolate) to take home!

The bagels are light and chewy, not bready, and even the plain bagel has a great flavor. We find the celery salt and sometimes the everything bagels to be saltier than we enjoy, but your mileage may vary. The sesame, plain, jalapeño cheddar, pumpernickel, and honey wheat are awesome. The seasonal pumpkin bagel was excellent, and I'm keeping my fingers crossed that we get blueberry once they're in season. If you get a bagel sandwich, I'd recommend sticking with a plain bagel to let the filling shine. We usually get the Potchke delight (add avocado, it's worth it), and my husband loves the beef bacon. They have upgraded from egg patties to small folded omelettes in their breakfast sandwiches. They just rolled out mobile ordering at this location, and I did my first order today. Fridays are always very busy there, but my order was ready way before the time estimate, and they made my coffee fresh once I checked in with the lady at the pickup area. I was very impressed! They have been really good about making changes to improve wait times (like adding a second person taking orders with a handheld card reader and expanding next door to allow a designated line area), and mobile ordering is a game changer for me. The employees are always wonderful even though they are super busy and dealing with a lot of people. Everyone seems happy to be there, and I hope that's a reflection of the owners treating their people well. Yes, the prices may seem high for bagels, but in my opinion it's totally worth it. I'd rather have a stellar bagel once a month than grocery store bagels every week. (Now if only they would also serve their matzo ball soup and borscht at this location, my life would be complete!)
