After reviewing the scope of the project, it was estimated that it would take a week and a half to complete. Not only did it take over a month to eventually complete, the days that the team would work were unpredictable. On several occasions, as the team would leave for the day, they would tell us they will be back tomorrow, and then not show up. Or, they wouldn't be able to tell us when they would come next, and would surprise us a few days later. They ended up needing to complete this project after I had delivered my baby (original timeline would've been completed weeks prior to my due date). Additionally, we noticed there were a few design decisions that were made without consulting us, like the drywall of the shower/re-installation of the water gauge (it's now not flush with the wall and very loose) and the selection of tile at the base of the shower that doesn't match the floor. He had offered to come fix the water gauge, but after coming to look at the issue, he has not gotten back to us in 5 weeks. I had high hopes for this project, and while it still looks nice, the lack of communication made it really difficult to want to recommend Peter or use his team again for future projects.

Poor customer service. I had home projects and money ready to spend with this business but…read moreapparently they don't need it and would rather ghost their customers than communicate professionally. 2 months ago I requested a home quote, they responded immediately and I had a project manager at my house with 2 days. She came over and took measurements and we discussed the projects I wanted completed. She was in my house for 1.5 hours! I sent her follow up emails with multiple pictures and design ideas I wanted to incorporate. She said she would follow up within 2 weeks. Now, 2 months later- nothing. I have sent follow up emails to the PM, called the PMs cell phone as well as the main business number leaving voicemails. No return calls or emails. Even a short message saying they are too busy to take on new projects would have been well received. Why even come over to my house to NOT give me a quote or follow up with me again?? Will not be working with this company or recommending them to anyone.

Jessica hit it out of the park! We have lived in seven homes, including houses, condo and townhome…read more We have remodeled and refreshed kitchens and bathrooms in many of them. This was the best design and the best design collaboration ever. Jessica listened to us and turned our ideas into something better! We know someone in the real estate business who recently shared that our kitchen is by far the best kitchen in the condo building, and he has been in many units. Our kitchen remodel turned into a kitchen, dining, and family room remodel. Walls were opened up and closets removed or reduced in size. The space was much more open, modern and beautiful! The mix of white and darker cabinets, of tile and accent tile, of appliances, and of lighting made it stunning! As with many remodel projects, and we have had many, there are sometimes surprises along the way. Jessica adapted quickly. In the end, even the owner stopped by as well to make sure we were fully satisfied. We cannot ask for more integrity in people. Reflecting back, we realize that we were blessed with a game-changing remodel at a very reasonable price. We had an opportunity to stop by their updated showroom recently and noticed a beautiful painting in one of the displays. We learned that it was done by one of their designers. This is a very talented team! We not only recommend Prestige as a design and construction firm, we recommend them as people who can make a difference in your home and in your life.

This team works well together, which led to great communication...regardless of who I was talking to. Having done limited updating before, I had a tiny bit of sticker shock when I got the quote. But I researched prices/vendors and found that the cost was quite fair. And now that I've seen how much work (and number of steps) went into this conversion, I feel it was a great value. The team helped make sure the shower blends with everything else in the bathroom, which was reno'd a year ago (before I bought the place). With the new shower, the room looks bigger, brighter and better. At the end of the day, it's not just about having a beautiful, well-built shower or about getting the right price. It's also about being treated well as a customer, relying on the expertise of pros who care, communication, and having decent folks working in your home. In the order in which I met them, BIG THANKS to: Piper, Jed, Scott, Bill, John, Julies, Sarah, and last but not least, Paul the tile whisperer! Don't hesitate to call on this team. You'll be glad you did.

I needed replacement thermal cartridges. This guy tried to sell me the exact same cartridge for $139 that I bought on Amazon for $85. That should have been my first clue. Then he told me he would get me the complete set of replacement fixtures for my 2 showers. They charged me $250 for each kit which were the same kits I see for $75 each. He convinced me these are superior fixtures (Same Manufacturer) and that's why they cost 3 times as much. I think that they get most of their parts from Craigslist and eBay then mark them up 300%. After waiting for them to be "Shipped from California" I dropped by looking for an update. The guy's father is behind the counter. I asked him about my order, and he says that James does his own thing and doesn't leave notes about the orders. I have to check back with James. Upon my third in person visit, James gives me just the fixtures, one adapter, no screws, and no way to install the second fixture. They need an adapter and set screws that are not included. The reason I went here was they say they can find replacement parts for older models. Not true. They sell you old junk and then tell you good luck. Look at the sign hanging high over their security cage that says, "Absolutely No Refunds". There's a reason for that! Buyer beware.

We were warned repeatedly: "A kitchen remodel will be a nightmare--don't live there while it's…read morehappening!" That, along with a few other cautions, set our expectations before starting our project with Kitchen & Baths Unlimited. For my wife and me, however, the experience turned out very differently. We cannot say enough great things about Nancy (design), Owen (project management) and the entire team that meticulously executed the remodel. While I work from home and my wife commutes downtown, we decided to move forward with gutting and remodeling the vintage kitchen in our 100-year-old farmhouse in Evanston--and we couldn't be more pleased with the outcome. Yes, the demolition phase was a bit loud, as expected. But after that, the usual construction noise--hammering and drilling--was manageable. The team did an excellent job minimizing disruption: adjacent rooms were carefully sealed to contain dust, wood floors were protected with panels, and window treatments were wrapped in plastic. Design selections were also made easy thanks to Nancy, who guided us through choosing colors, cabinets, and countertops that matched our vision. The result is a beautiful transformation from a neglected, dingy farmhouse kitchen into a bright, modern farmhouse space. The Italian tile backsplash complements the quartz countertops with subtle veining. The lower cabinets are a soft gray, while the upper cabinets are white, creating a clean and balanced look. We also upgraded our appliances and fixtures, including LED ceiling lights, a Bosch microwave drawer, a professional KitchenAid range with a matching hood featuring an infrared sensor, and a modern stainless-steel farmhouse sink with a gentle bow. Despite an initial delay with the permit office due to a previously applied for permit that KBU helped us manage, the project stayed on schedule. We made a few minor upgrades along the way, but thanks to Owen and Nancy's guidance, we remained on time and within our overall budget. The KBU crew was professional, punctual, and highly skilled. Communication was seamless--especially since I was working from home--which helped address questions quickly and keep the project moving efficiently. In the end, we passed all inspections and received written approval from the village within a day. For us, this remodel was a great success. Thank you to Nancy, Owen, Patricia, Rade, and the entire team! You are the BEST!

We just finished a complete remodel with KBU--kitchen and three baths. We started with Kelly, and…read moreshe was outstanding. Ownership changed, and we were concerned that the new owners would not deliver the same kind of product as previous owners. Not a worry. The new owners have the same dedication to the client and are also a pleasure to work with. We love the finished product and we are very happy with owner, Owen and crew leader, Rade. We had a budget for this very large project, and they helped us stay within that amount. We never felt that we had to skimp on choices to stay in budget. One of the best things about Owen is he responds immediately. No matter what day or time we'd text, email or call, Owen responded within the hour and often faster. And his response was always positive and supportive. Any issues or problems? He took care of them without any hesitation. He wanted us to be satisfied and happy with the results. And we are. One of the other tradespeople broke an item and is replacing it, but it won't arrive for several months after our remodel is complete. No problem, Owen will have Rade install that item for us when it arrives. To us, that says a lot about Owen and his business philosophy. We consider ourselves so fortunate to have Rade and Jesus as our crew. Rade does things the right way. He never skimped or took shortcuts. Even if it was more difficult or took more time, Rade did it the right way. Rade also wanted us to be happy with the results. He is thorough, professional, skilled and experienced. Many times there were choices and decisions, and we were not sure which to do. We had so much confidence in Rade's experience and skill that we deferred to his suggestions. We were never disappointed. Remodeling can be a stressful mess, but the people at KBU make it as stress free as possible. They are a pleasure to work with and to know.
