I'll preface by saying I've been looking for tile for a while. And I got tired of ordering samples here and there, and then not looking the way I thought they would. I had a pretty good idea of what the cost would be for tile. I was shocked to say the least of the cost of these tiles!!!! I've been working with the Tile Bar (online) and they have similar tiles (from Italy, Spain, etc) these tiles were $14 sq ft and back splashes were $18 sq ft. Sure, they had cheaper tiles but they are nothing you couldn't find at Home Depot or anywhere else. The sales person was friendly and helpful. I could sense they make commission due to the high prices and friendliness of the staff. The bathroom was stinky and gross. The feminine product basket was full to the top. That doesn't happen inone day. That was definitely a disappointment especially for the area and price point. read more

I have come to the Tile Shop three times total. The first two trips were by myself and I went to check out the store to see what they had. The first time I went I had the same worker ask me 3 different times if I was okay. The second time, no one asked me much of anything or if I needed help. For my third time at the store - I scheduled a design consultation online and making the appointment was easy. It also asked for your style and pictures, like pinterest boards for your project. I also received an email confirmation of the appointment. My husband and I get to the store and go to the front to let know we had an appointment. The worker had no idea what I was talking about - like NO IDEA. It was like the store and the online website had no idea about the other. The worker offered to help us with what we needed but what a waste making an appointment online. The store is impressive and has tons of options. But beware the first couple aisles of the store have all the pricey items like marble and glass. The farther back you go the cheaper the tiles - such as porcelain. The outside of the aisles have displays of mostly bathrooms but some kitchens and they give inspiration. There are tables throughout as well to take tiles and put design options together. The staff we worked with was nice but the "design consultation" was not a design consultation. She also did not really get to know us, did not ask for our names, and did not get a sense of what our project or styles were. I was expecting someone to give me trends and put looks together based on our styles. Instead, we put together what I had already been thinking about for the design. I wanted a designer's touch or eye to help with our project and that was non-existence. She reacted to what we said, rather than having a proactive approach to helping us. The price for our project was almost $2000 - for a small guest bathroom. We were given an itemized list of what each tile would cost along with grout and other essentials. We were told if you have extra tile that you can return it but within a certain window of time. We found similar tiles online from other companies that were much cheaper. I do not believe we would buy all of the tile we need from the Tile Shop but it gives a good estimate on how much your project could cost. I also think coming to the Tile Shop helps with checking out tiles in person and figuring out what you like or do not like. But they seem pricey compared to big box stores and online retailers. A random note - you can bring your four-legged friend to the store. A family with small kids had their pomeranian and were carrying it around the store. Would give them 0 stars if I could. I was in search for a marble curb threshold for my shower. The piece I was looking for at the tile shop was $159. I told them that was Outrageous. I shopped around and found the exact same marble piece at Beaver Tile in Farmington Hills for $30. Very disappointed as I've shop with them for years, but will now look elsewhere. read more

The worst place EVER. Very few ceramic switch plates. They order me some, Desiree tells me she is shipping them. They don't come, then she tells me she will overnight them. They don't come.
