I've been coming here for years and it's always been a great experience. Threading my eyebrows isn't painful and the whole process is done in less than 10 mins. Also there was only 1 or 2 times that I've had to wait in the waiting area for more than 10 mins. Otherwise they have taken me almost immediately. I used to come here relatively often with minimal issues. Most recently one lady totally messed up and gave me a nice big gash under my eyebrows!! I posted a picture for reference. She didn't even apologize and was trying to hide it from me in the mirror. All she knew how to say in English was "eyebrows nice" and "ok - aloe ok!". This year is my 20 year high school graduation anniversary which marks how many years I have been threading my eyebrows and other facial areas ;), from the same person. Since my job moving to the area I have been searching for a place that I liked. As a test I decided to get my chin and lip done. Unfortunately I didn't get the ladies name, but I literally felt every strand of hair being pulled. I have never experienced such pain. I kept tell her how much pain I was in and she blamed it on how thick my hair was. Halfway through I had to stop her to ask another person to take care of me. I am glad to say the second person took care of me as I am used to, but unfortunately I do not know them and will not return. I guess I wish the first lady knew he limitations and passed me on without me asking. I was literally in tears. I am glad I didn't get my eyebrows done. read more

Great service. I was able to walk-in, wait only a few minutes, and then get an excellent brow shaping within 10 minutes. It was the most efficient part of my day. Price can't be beat ($15 for eyebrows) and the lady was friendly and efficient. Will definitely be back. Had my brows threaded here for the first time in my life, and I think I'm hooked. The process is quick and much less fuss than waxing (my previous hair removal technique of choice), and it wasn't red at all afterwards, whereas I'd be red for at least an hour after eyebrow waxes (super sensitive skin, you see). Plus, it feels kind of cool, and it certainly seems much more precise, as people have said before. I don't normally write reviews, but I stopped going here from the bad customer service. I would come in to get my full face done, but stopped due to the threading ladies clucking about the amount of peach fuzz I have on my face. Now, I will sadly admit that I do more peach fuzz than most, but there's no reason to act unprofessional and make me feel bad about it. Once, I left there and it looked like I had tiger stripes on my cheeks because of a line of peach fuzz, a line of smooth skin, etc. While they normally do a good job, perhaps they should learn customer service skills so their customers don't feel bashful leaving the store. I had my eyebrows done and I wish I didn't. I usually get my eyebrows waxed. However I thought I would try threading since I have read great reviews. Big mistake....It hurt like hell! I was anticipating to have my eyebrows shaped and even out so that they are identical. Instead my brows are still uneven and far too much were threaded! Worst experience ever! read more

They are located on the 2nd floor of the Chestnut Hill Mall - just down the hall from Papa Razzi. $15 for a brow threading treatment was a great deal...and much less painful/irritating than wax. Quick & (relatively) painless eyebrow threading for $15- well worth it! Like someone above said, it feels a lot more precise than waxing, and as an added bonus my eyebrows are completely red & swollen for 48 hours like they can be with waxing. Found a place that could potentially replace my beloved Anju Threads (in Philly). Thing is, not all threadists are created equal, so be weary. (unfortunately I can't remember the name of my person... drat. I think she's the owner, though.) Also, this place tends to get busy on the weekends, so be sure to make an appointment or go during the weekdays. read more

I left The Threading Spa completely satisfied with the clean shape my aesthetician created for my dark, thick brows. I have never been waxed or threaded before, and this was a great first experience. Had my brows done and I guess I consider myself lucky after reading the prior reviews. It was a relatively painless experience and my brows look great. I'm now a threading convert. They didn't sanitize the skin before threading (as they do when waxing), but not sure if that's typical. I have extremely sensitive skin and didn't have any irritation afterwards. I will likely return, and hopefully won't have the experience of prior reviews. read more

Don't go here. Got my eyebrows done here tonight and they are completely messed up. I'm a loyal customer and only get my eyebrows threaded here. The woman who was working tonight took out a visible chunk out of my right eyebrow in the middle as well as underneath. She also didn't listen to my instructions on what I wanted done and didn't even apologize. This is a huge mistake and she didn't care or sympathize at all when I told her she took too much off. I'm leaving for vacation in two days and my eyebrows are embarrassing. This is complete unacceptable. She also shouldn't of charged me. They look horrible. I went into Sephora after and even they saw they were messed up. read more

The woman was very inexperienced and struggled to explain to me how to place my hands properly to hold the brow correctly. It was very painful and my brows are uneven and have some holes in them. STAY AWAY. I specifically told the woman doing my eyebrows that i just wanted the "stragglers" removed and did not want my brows thinner - I said this a couple of times. She apparently did not understand (apparently she is not proficient at English which I'm sympathetic to but if she didn't understand she should have asked her colleague to help her) and thinned one brow. This was my first time with threading (i usually wax) and I am definitely a convert! The woman who did the threading could not have been nicer - she told me several times to let me know if I needed a break (I did once- brows weren't bad, but lip brought the water to my eyes, which she warned me would happen!) We planned our night around going here after all was said and done. Knowing that they wouldn't close until 9 was perfect for us, otherwise we would've gone somewhere else more local and earlier. The mall was full of people, a great Saturday night! Online it said they closed at 9pm. We arrived at 7:45, walked in and we were told "we're closed." I said that online it says 9pm and she said "we close at 8 on Saturday. I again stated that online says differently. Keep in mind it wasn't even 8 o'clock yet and she wouldn't even try to squeeze us in because [she was] the only one [there]." She looked away and said "sorry;" very rude and unprofessional. This place sounded great but really was only a disappointing slap in the face. I will definitely not go back. $15 for an eyebrow threading is overpriced anyway. I've been here maybe four or five times. Previous reviewers are correct - it all depends on who you get to do your brows. Most of the time, they've done a decent job, but I went yesterday and the woman, although very nice, made my brows way too thin. One thing I've noticed is that threading here takes a longer time than I'm used to. I just moved back here from living in NYC for six years where I routinely got my brows threaded. It hardly ever took more than five minutes, for never more than $7. The Threading Spa spends 10-15 minutes per customer, just for brows. I suppose it's ok as long as they're gonna do an exceptionally good job. What I really don't understand is why threading costs $15 in the Boston area??? Seems unusually expensive for what should be low overhead (especially compared to rental space in Manhattan). read more

They did a decent job on shaping, and they were very nice and fast, but there are better options. First, the price is much higher than comparable places. I understand they're in a mall, so that's somewhat OK. Second, the threading was very, very painful. I've had my brows done at several places (in several cities), and this was one of the worst in terms of pain. Not OK. Third, I ended up with bumps, which I suspected I would. I waited a couple of days to see what would happen before writing the review. I have a small row of 4 bumps along the top of my right brow that I'm trying to clear up now. read more

I just had my eyebrows threaded here and I left with a sour taste in my mouth. I went in with a $15 gift certificate that I received two years ago, and despite the fact that there was NO expiration date on the certificate, they would not honor it. They called the owner of the shop and then told me that the owner would not let me pay with my gift certificate. Now this phone call had occurred after I was already in the chair having my brows threaded, leaving me with no choice but to pay with cash. Had they taken a moment to inform me of the situation prior to starting on my brows, I wouldn't have felt like I was getting ripped off. But their approach was rude and unfair, and I will not be going back. As an argument, they even tried to tell me that the person who originally issued the certificate doesn't even work there any more, which was more reason I couldn't use the certificate. They also said that the reason the owner wouldnt honor the certificte was because some people had been photocopying them for reuse, alhough i definitely did not do that. You could clearly see colored pen streaks on the paper, which made it onvious that it was an original. I felt like I was being blamed for trying treat myself to an afternoon out. I work in retail so I know a thing or two about customer service, and this experience left me incredibly frustrated and disheartened. And to top it all off, while I think my brows were done moderately well (not the best, but not terrible), the person who did them had an offensive body odor that was inescapable whilst she was leaning over my face to thread. read more
