When you entered the event area, there was a photo-op! One felt like a celeb! LOL... Lots of food and wine sampling for the evening! The DJ was playing some great music. It reminded me of my late night dancing days from yesteryear! : D "Evening Highlights" - Benares Indian Restaurant- Pani Puri Shots we're delish! - David Burke's 1776- Blue Raspberry Cotton Candy! - Ruth Chris Restaurant-Large Meatball! - Biagios- All their food! Grilled Peach on Endive was delicious!!!!! - Caramello Moo Thin Toffee was Yummy! - Colpetrine Wine (Umbria) was wonderful! One Downside- The event could've used more high top tables and chairs. We generally go for large holidays and it's a party of 12-14 of us. The service is always good and the food is always good. We love the bartenders, they are super friendly. They do add auto grat so you don't need to tip. The lines for the different stations move quickly as well. read more

Went to the Easter brunch buffet and it was terrible! There were 8 of us and we were stuck at a very small table, we asked to be moved and the staff seemed like they couldn't be bothered to help us. We waited for a long time before someone came to take our drink order and that was after I asked 2 people to send us a waiter and then when someone finally came and took our order it took forever to get our drinks. Now, let's talk about the food and the price charged. Food was just not good in any way and most of it didn't seem fresh and for the price it was not worth it! I got three raw steaks I swear my dogs food taste better than this the bartender was extremely rude and his drinks were even worse. All the silverware was dirty as the workers. We attended a wedding and reception here--this was my first time at this venue and I was really impressed. The room was set up perfect (like you could actually push your chair out without hitting the chair/person behind you!). The Bartenders made great drinks and were quick in keeping the line moving. The food was GREAT. We had the filet with asparagus and mashed potatoes. The stations at the cocktail hour had delicious food and the staff were amazing! Dirty dishes were cleared immediately and all staff were really working their butts off. The Manager, John, did very well and kept everything moving smoothly. You could tell he really takes pride in his job. Our server for the reception, Alex, was awesome. She had a great personality and was very helpful. If I lived in New Jersey, I would definitely consider holding an event here! read more

Wow! Once again I'm blown away by the many exotic places in New Jersey. I absolutely love everything about "The Terrance Of." The entrance is unbelievable delightful and the waterfall somehow gives it that Caribbean vibe. My friend was tying the knot as well as having her wedding reception at this beautiful location.Too bad I missed the wedding ceremony, but from the pictures and videos it was magnificent. Right after the ceremony, there was the cocktail hour...Oolala! A good variety of delicious food such as all type of grilled and fresh vegetables, a very unique choice of cheese platter, eggplant parmesan, steak, grilled lamb, calamari, fruits, and the list goes on... We were seated across the room for dinner where the bridal party was set up. The dance floor was incredibly spacious! My entrée was mouth watering, its been a while since I had such delicious and tasty salmon with some creamy mashed potato. Overall the staff and place it self was welcoming. For those coming from NYC and need to use Public transportation. It's recommended to take #163 bus from port authority, which is like 40 minutes or so from NYC! Heartbroken and disappointed in the food. Attended two weddings there and the chicken was raw, "steak" was beef jerky, rice was undercooked with raw chicken juice. Hard working people are paying over 150.00 a plate for this food. If you are not equipped or competent to run this type of establishment, find another job. OR, compensate the wedding couple for the embarrasssment of having 400 guests walk out disgusted from the food that was served. Valet parking was a joke as we were parked for 15 minutes waiting for our turn. This is indicative of poor incompetent management . My suggestion is look elsewhere for your celebration unless you like salmonella and poor service. Im not about ruining peoples businesses but I am about holding businesses accountable and not ripping customers off. read more

Was here for a fund raising event. Overall a nice space. Certainly roomy for the number of people they had and I have no idea how many that was. The main dishes were served table side with the usual choices coming around the table beforehand. The quality of the food (and more particularity the bar service) was average at best. Hey, this was a fund raiser so maybe this was a simple case of you get what you pay for. I have no idea. The other downside is parking. Like a lot of venues of this type it was valet service only and cars were packed pretty tight mostly under the venue room itself. I attended a wedding here this past weekend. The staff was disorganized/rude and at times absent, and I feel terrible for the bride & groom. Prior to the ceremony, guests that arrived early could see the bride/groom taking photos up on the terrace as there was no one greeting guests at the entrance. The maitre d was extremely moody towards the bridal party and nowhere to be found throughout the night when the bride/groom needed him. The bride/father dance was ruined by the inability to set up the movie screen and play the requested clips, instead of playing others and on a wall versus a projector. Other than the food, and large ballroom, there are much better venues in NJ to consider read more

The staff are a bunch of a$$holes. There was only 1 female bartender who was a decent human being. The bartenders are rude and will even yell at you if you try to point out their mistakes! Never book anything with this venue. They ruined my wedding put us in a restaurant bar instead of the agreed and paid for ballroom hideous room outdated . A living nightmare. The food was terrible not enough food for my guest they was told they had to wait 25 min more for their order because there was not enough food. The salad was soggy. The first time I came to the Terrace I was amazed by how delicious the food was. I'm no amateur to wedding venues, I'm practically a part-time wedding guest. Having attended so many weddings, I know that food is not something I ever really remember. However, the terrace was always in the back of my mind as one of the best venues because of the food, the space, and location. Fast forward two years after I attended a wedding here, I knew that this was a venue I should look into to as I started planning my wedding. When I walked into the terrace, as a bride shopping for the prefect location, I knew this was it. Everything from the shiny floors, wooden bar, modern and sleek ballroom, my husband and I knew that this would be on the top of our list. We sat down, discussed prices, options, and the whole nine. The banquet manager explained everything in so much detail and with such honesty that we automatically trusted him. Since this was our second venue, we kept shopping but we kept comparing everything to the Terrace. Needless to say, we went back and celebrated our wedding here. Being the extremely eager bride that I was, the banquet managers, Athena, Paula, and Tommy, were always there to answer all my questions and make recommendations. From options of linen, the ice sculpture to menu options, these guys were so patient and nice. The wedding day was picture perfect. Food was amazing, staff went above and beyond, and the bar was packed! All of our guests were in awe of the venue. We continue to hear "the food was out of this world" "everyone was so nice" "it was all top-shelf alcohol" "the staff was amazing". A couple of my friends mentioned how attentive the staff was to their requests & needs. My husband and I did. It have to ask for anything. Before we even got the chance, our needs were met. I am currently in search of a wedding venue. I've looked at a couple of places and decided to add The Terrace to the list. My Fiance set up an appointment to tour the place originally on Wednesday (7/26/17) at 5:45pm but Jennifer had called back the day of and said we needed to reschedule because she is not available. (did not know as potential customers who will be spending in the 5 digits is such an inconvenience to her). So giving her the benefit of the doubt, we rescheduled to 7/29/17 at 4:00pm. Got a call from Jennifer AGAIN last night to say we need to reschedule because "something came up". I asked if there is another person that can show us the venue and she said "no". This potential venue is now a no-tential venue. They must be really making a ton of money to turn away a potential wedding account and we all know how much vendors jack up prices for that grand event. So Thank you The Terrace for your time and efforts. As a customer, I am sorry that I am such a pest and inconvenience to your day to day operations. read more

Last year we attended breakfast with Santa and it was great....so again this year we were very excited as a family to attend. To begin with we chose the second seating because the first one was over 250 people. The first one was supposed to end at 12:30 but ours was also scheduled to begin at 12:30 . What a mess!! People were still seated comfortably talking while the lobby filled with the next seating, staff was trying to clean the room but it was useless. There was a lot less of organization from last year. We were third on line and went to eat first: eggs were cold, pancakes were hard and juice was not out for a half hour after it began. There was ONE coffee station for the entire room!! Was here about 3 weeks ago or so catching up with a friend and trying a new place. A little confusing at first coming here, since we had reservations with outdoor seating, but the restaurant was all indoors. Once we checked in the hostest explained to us that the outdoor seating is in the back of the building and told usbto walk through the garage (if you walk though, keep to the right hand side mostly, til you walk out of the garage, then a left when you see planters). Once seated, we placed our orders, the waiter was very quick and attentive. First round of drinks I had the apple and jack, it was an okay drink; 2nd drink was also one of their fall inspired drinks that was also okay, but their 3rd drink that I had was the best. Can't remember the name of it, but it had coffe in it with amaretto. For food, I had the gnocchi ragu, which was excellent, aa it basically fell apart in my mouth with each bite. Talk about classy! I was super impressed with The Terrace for my friend's wedding. If you're looking for elegance, then you've come to the right place. Unlike some other venues, the grand chandeliers, stair case, tiled flooring, outdoor space and bridal suite are all updated and modern here (and clean!). Shoutout to the staff for being on point with the food and bev service too! Cocktail hour was off the hook and loaded with food. I'd opt out the raw bar if this were my wedding... but I'd keep the sushi station cause it was rockin for the night. If you've made the cutoff to have the whole ballroom for your event, be ready to be impressed. The space is simply STUNNING. It's all about the details and personal touches. Get a good lighting vendor like my friend did and your party will be lit! Only semi disappointment for the evening was the under seasoned dinner entrees and the Viennese hour. The desserts were a bit underwhelming...but it's all good when you have a full room's worth of dessert offerings lol. We had our wedding this past May at The Terrace, and it was AMAZING. All our guests cannot stop complimenting about the food at cocktail hour. I love that my guests say that this was the best wedding food they've had all year. You definitely don't leave hungry. Reception food was delicious too. This was our second stop in our wedding venue search and although I was pretty sure I wasn't going to like the third one, we went straight back to The Terrace to sign the contract immediately. Jennifer the manager was super friendly and helpful. Price was also affordable for a Saturday morning wedding. Rooftop ceremony was beautiful. The only thing I would have liked was if there was more scenic areas right on site of the venue to take pictures. read more

Held a repast luncheon there recently and was disappointed and quite frankly embarrassed. Didn't appreciate parking under the banquet hall which looked like a service entrance. Sure enough, delivery trucks parked amongst us with deliveries being made. We had to walk around to find entrance. Paid for bartender, drinks were tiny, expensive and glass filled to top with ice. Salad was paltry. Service was so slow. We were starving and food wasn't served until around 45 minutes after ordered. Soda put on tables after salad served. For dessert we ordered pastry/cookies for each table. Cups and saucers didn't fit together, no silverware was brought out and no plates. One bowl with small containers of creamers, more appropriate for a diner setting was placed on the table. Had to wait for decaf to be made. There were three repasts set up in the same ballroom with no direction of whose was whose. Two people from another repast sat down at one of our tables and we had to ask them whose repast they were there for. There seemed to be no oversight, people wandered in and out. We had our HSA fundraiser at The Terrace and everything was amazing . It was a pleasure working with John. He made every decision so easy for us.  He answered every question we had and made sure our event was fantastic. He was very professional, knowledgeable, and easy to work with. Barbara was wonderful the evening of our event. She handled everything with grace. Ben was so helpful in morning as we needed more tables for the tricky tray and he kept bringing them. Honestly the WORST place to ever get married! The owners are actually trash!!The management is literally the worst!! Super nice before you give them money, the second the final payment is in there hands it all goes downhill, they are frauds they will take your money and lie about everything!!!! The one good thing about my event here was the food, it was excellent. The planning process was a nightmare, and so was the service. The prices are the same as many of the other area catering halls but the experience is significantly worse. Event was not set up on time, they had the wrong seating chart, forgot the menus, bar was empty for 30+ minutes, no soft drinks or drink service were offered, and heating lamps took 30 minutes to get going. Dietary accommodations they were notified of in advance such as dairy free guest took 30 minutes to get their food. I spent much of my day as the host chasing down the coordinator and asking her to refill the bar, bring water, and turn on heat lamps. In addition, planning the event was very unorganized, and I had to call multiple times the week of to set up my menu. Much of the staff is not polite and does not seem experienced. read more

I went here for New Years Eve and they seem to nickel and dime for everything including a "$5 donation" to get your coat back from coat check. Granted this was one night and not for a wedding but if I would probably be wary of what else they would pull. I paid $170 for a ticket and the place was so packed that they sent men outside in freezing weather to use the restrooms in port-o-pottys. If that's not classy then I don't know what is. Stay away if you're looking for a venue. read more

I really do not understand the bad reviews here. I helped to coordinate an event for the non-profit I work for back in March. The staff of The Terrace was friendly, professional, accommodating, and flexible to our needs. They really went out of their way to work with us. They ensured we had vegan options for guests, which has been incredibly challenging at other venues I have tried to work with. They allowed us to make multiple venue visits as well. On the day of the event, we received a lot of support in helping to set-up and clean up. The food was good. The waiters/waitresses and bartenders were friendly. The guests of our fundraiser were very impressed with the venue and happy with their food. I also usually am skeptical of banquet food, and it was among the best I have had. One note- valet parking here is mandatory. The venue is on Paramus Road. It is necessary; they are not trying to be annoying about it. I personally hope my organization uses them for events in the future and that I am able to attend other events held here. read more

If you cannot find another place, I guess this venue would work for you. The establishment itself is beautiful. But, they still need help with a few important details. (1) The rooftop. It is clear a lot of money was put toward making this area very nice, BUT they need to install electric heaters. How can you have an open rooftop in the fall through spring months without multiple heaters!!? Big fail. (2) Amanda the matre'd could use a bit more training on how to host a party. She was completely inflexible despite the apparent need to be at a recent wedding I attended. IF you choose to have your event here, I would strongly request a different matre'd or DO NOT tip her. (3) The food was just ok. Again, if you can't find another venue, i would strongly urge you to have a food tasting. Be very specific on your wants and push them to be accommodating. DO NOT overpay for this venue. Plenty of of venues with better food in the north jersey area. (4) The food served to the bridal party was scarce to say the least. there was one platter of raw vegetables for a bridal party of 20+ people. The attendants didn't bring in plates or enough drinks. The children's food was not delivered as detailed prior to the wedding. In short it was a bit of a disaster. Again, not a great place if you are looking for stellar, flexible, or accommodating service. The food was just ok and the matre'd was awful. Since it is coming up on my one year anniversary, I decided to finally write my review about The Terrace, to hopefully let other brides know my journey in dealing with them. We originally booked our wedding with Jennifer, who then left suddenly and we were not made aware of until about 3 months before our wedding in June 2018. We were passed around from different managers and the owners daughter- who was quite rude, and everything that we discussed with Jennifer was no longer in question because she had left. We had set up a meeting to taste our food with the owners daughter, who had left before our appointment time to where we talked to Midra for the rest of the time being. A few days leading up to our wedding we were informed that they booked a wedding from 12-5pm and my wedding was to start at 6:30pm. Come the DAY OF MY WEDDING, we were told by the contractors who were in the other wedding that they were contracted UNTIL 6PM. My wedding team barely had a half hour to set up and my husband was even inside of the hall moving chairs and helping out in his suit!! I had guests show up when they were still setting up which was horrible. I was so upset with the hall and they did not even apologize for any of it. I would not recommend this place if the staff still is not in order. While we managed to have a wonderful wedding, I do not think I would recommend this wedding hall as beautiful as it may look. read more

There are really no words to describe how perfect our wedding reception was at The Terrace on October 6, 2017. When we began planning our wedding last October, The Terrace was our first and last stop on our venue search. We knew right away that it was the perfect venue. We worked very closely all year long with Sales Manager, Jennifer Riscen. Jennifer was an absolute pleasure to work with. She was always available for us to answer any and all questions in a prompt and professional manner. She painted a picture of what our wedding reception would be like; which became a reality. Jennifer is a true event professional and made our wedding flawless from beginning to end. I had a blast working with her! She is one of the best!! The entire staff at The Terrace is a first class act. We also worked with Tommy, Chef Jimmy, and Amanda as well. Everyone was so helpful, accommodating and fun to work with. We were never stressed out because we knew we were in great hands. Chef Jimmy went above and beyond to make sure the menu, food & presentation was top notch. Some of the highlights of our wedding (to name a few) was our rooftop cocktail hour which included a sushi "stadium themed" station, pig roast, raw bar with ice sculpture, rose station, Octoberfest themed station, a flambe presentation to open the Viennese dessert table, and our donut wall and coffee to go favors. Not one detail was overlooked. Every single guest raved and was blown away by our reception and we have no one but Jennifer, Chef Jimmy and the staff at The Terrace to thank. The quality of the food, service and venue was impeccable! No one wanted the night to end so we continued the party over at Biagio's. If you are a newly engaged couple looking for a brand new, beautiful venue with an incredible, professional staff to match, we HIGHLY recommend Biagio's and The Terrace! read more

For future brides/grooms - I would be EXTREMELY careful before inquiring about more information about their wedding venue. I'm recently engaged and had called The Terrace for some preliminary information about their venue. In no way, shape, or form did I commit to their venue, and unfortunately, because of their 'no weekend appointments policy' my fiance and I won't even be able to look at the place thus, completely eliminating it from our list. Since I've called them, they have given out my information to countless vendors. I have been getting emails and phone calls non-stop regarding my October 2016 wedding at Biagios, which 1) that's not even the correct year we'll be getting married nor a set month and 2) we have never even come close to expressing the fact that this is where our wedding is going to be. I think it's extremely tasteless that they would give out my information to their preferred vendors without a confirmation of our event there, let alone even meeting us. I don't appreciate officiants, hotels, cake bakeries, entertainment etc. reaching out that I need to use them as a vendor when my wedding is not and now NEVER will be at this venue. read more

Had a venue on 11/15/2014. The staff is horrible, the bartender looked miserable and angry that he had to be there. The food was horrible, the pastas had no flavor, the chicken was dry and bland. The paella was too salty and had too much garlic. The colors in the room made people dizzy. The entrance heat was turned off and people were freezing while waiting to hang their coats and waiting for the room to be opened. I will never book anything here or at Biagio's again. They were also charging redicoulous amount of money for drinks ($12 a shot of cheap scotch) and $3 for an espresso. Do your self a favor and book somewhere else, overpriced with nasty food and it's really not that nice. read more

Attended a co-worker's wedding, food is tasty and delicious! Venue is classy, clean and well maintained. Service is good.

So disappointed with this years New Year's celebration. We paid 150.00 and had to be controlled on the amount of seafood we ate at cocktail hour. At dinner they gave us cold bread with no butter. There was no Viennese table only a single dessert. Two different kinds but you could y choose which you wanted. For 150.00 I feel they really lowered their standards from last year.
