I had High Tea with a friend, the atmosphere was so nice .We were greeted and seated in a cozy corner by the widow beautifully decorated table. We got to pick our tea I had Pinky Up red velvet tea with a hint of almond , delicious! Our first course was a fresh fruit parfait of raspberries, blue berries and strawberries with whipped cream. Then we had a spinach salad with crisp crumbles of bacon and feta it also had strawberries and a champagne vinaigrette dressing very good and filling. Our last course was 2 tiers , cucumber sandwiches, chicken salad croissant , warm blueberry scones on the first tier. There was orange cake , small bite size cheesecakes , grapes and chocolate cake on the second tier . We finished with a mermosa and a boxed the sweets , we were full and satisfied. Wonderful way to spend an afternoon. Thank you Tea Lady

I took my mother here for mother's day not too long ago, the service was good! It was an open space concept if you didn't wanna pay extra for a personal room. Food was good, tea was good! overall had a nice experience! definitely would recommend it to another!

It's all in the details. If you are a first time or repeat visitor of tea rooms I highly recommend this family operated, women owned business. Advanced reservations and payment are made online where you can view the various high tea options, morning, afternoon, or evening times. The venue is attached to a parking garage and there is street parking available at this downtown Akron location. We reserved an afternoon tea and it was one of the best tea experiences I've had due to the food, service, decor, and elegant place settings. I loved the sugar cubes, rock sugar, cinnamon sticks, and cucumber sandwiches. There's something for everyone. They also sell fine tea, tea pots, and infusers. Check this place out for a ladies night, corporate event, bridal party, kids party, or just a plain ol teatime. I guarantee it'll be a memorable moment.

Every detail is perfection, from the designer glassware to the bone china.

Our tea group had the privilege of being hosted by The Tea Lady yesterday. If you enjoy a scrumptious tea, with beautiful ambiance, and artfully presented tea experience, make your reservations! The new location is lovely, and our every need was met with smiles and genuine care. Lovely afternoon!

Miss Hickory's Tea Room is a quaint tea house right next to the scenic Mill Stream Run Reservation…read more There's a softness to the place with its charming teapots and tea cups, pastel color scheme, and themed tea rooms. I had the loveliest afternoon tea with my mom at Miss Hickory's. AMBIANCE: You'll step back into the 1900's with time-specific decor and waitresses' attire. Miss Hickory's occupies a mid-1800s farmhouse that was owned by the first blacksmith in Strongsville, William Weller. The current owners preserved the historic charm, transformed the farm house into multi-room tea house. There are two main dining areas on the first floor, and multiple gorgeous themed tea rooms upstairs (like the Gathering Room and Storybook Tea Room). The interior contains a lot of refurbished and vintage furniture, charming housewares, and decor. Think pastels, florals, and lace. The space comfortably accommodates big groups and pairs. Small parking lot is available onsite, consider car pulling if attending with a large group. RESERVATIONS: I personally despise the commitment of reservations, but the process here is very easy. I emailed the tea house, received same day email response, and was not charged to hold the reservation. The tea room space started filling very quickly at open, so it's best to reserve your space. FOOD/TEA: Multi-page menu will accommodate all types of tastes. Find another seasonal menu at your table with all the flavors of the season. The menu contains signature plates, sandwiches, soups, sides, sweets, desserts, and beverages. You can have anything from a full tea feast to no tea at all equally enjoying your time. If you're a tea connoisseur, read all tea descriptions at the end of the menu. We ordered Miss Hickory's High Tea Sampler ($23 per person) that contains a shareable 3-tier serving tray with finger sandwiches, wonton cups, strawberries, scones, sweets, and crème. While I have seen larger portions at other tea houses, the food amount was very filling. Everything was extremely fresh, much fresher than experienced at other tea houses. I most enjoyed the walnut scones, they were so delicious! The standalone menu items seemed expensive and were served in very small quantities based on our observation of other guests. I don't think that ordering standalone items offers value. My mom thought that the experience was pricey, while I think it's about at market price. Since the tea is not included in the sampler, we ordered and shared two tea pots - Loose Leaf Arctic Berry and Black Currant ($4 per teapot with refills but no sharing). They were served with a tea warmer which was incredible, I love me some hot tea! The flavors started out very mild then evolved during our experience due to longer steeping. We agreed that Arctic Berry was our favorite tea. If you're not into loose leaf teas, you'll discover a very long Twinings selection. EXPERIENCE FOR KIDS: Many guests arrived with kids who were very enthusiastic about tea parties. They wore adorable matching outfits. Kids received their own tea experience - tiny tea cups and teapot. It was really cute! The room upstairs (Storybook Tea Room) seems to well accommodate anyone with children, has fairytales book, and play tea set. I can envision an adorable children's tea party in this space. SERVICE: The service is extremely attentive. Five stars! Our waitress was so kind, efficient, and just generally pleasant. She presented us with a demo of additional desserts for purchase at the end of the dining experience. One of them was Bridgerton-inspired Mille-feuille! We didn't have any more room for desserts, but they looked really elaborate! The owner inquired how our experience was at the end of our afternoon tea as well which felt especially welcoming. SHOP: The tea house has a small shopping area by the entrance. The cutest things are tea cup cards with tea bags! We loved our calm and delicious afternoon tea. We plan to return during nature's more scenic seasons like winter or the vibrant time of fall. I think that the views by the tea house will be unmatched. I have to say that it's one of my best tea house experiences.

I had their potato soup, which was incredible, the steamed broccoli with cheese which was good, and the Tea for Two with a friend. We got to try their day-old strawberry scones and their raspberry scones of the day (which, by the way, I would not have know which was old and which was not if we hadn't been told). Each of us got to choose 3 sandwiches, which I have not experienced before but appreciated, and I enjoyed all 3 of my cucumber sandwiches. We also each got to choose our own quiche slice from the two daily flavors. I really did appreciate how each person could get exactly what they wanted while still having a full tea experience. The nut rolls and Mexican wedding cookies were also yummy and I wish I could have had more. Each of us got to choose our own tea as well, which is pretty typical, although not every place allows that. They had a huge menu to choose from, and the best part is that you can also order any of their teas to go in a tin to make your own at home. They even have some more unique flavors, such as some oolong varieties. The service is a bit slow, but everyone, from the owners to the servers, is so sweet, so you can't really complain. We had Emma as our server and she did not steer us wrong with recommendations we asked for and was able to tell us all about what we were getting. She is such a joy and in a great role. The ambiance is also unique. It feels like you are either in an antique store or old Victorian house. It really does look like an afternoon tea place. You do need a reservation, especially on a weekend. The space isn't huge and they do not have a huge staff, and you can tell they like to make sure they are prepared so it can be a relaxing, special experience, whether having tea or anything else they offer. I would recommend making a trip out here, and this is a definite stop any time I am in the area moving forward!

We also had a cup of potato soup as a starter. The lovely owner came over to check in. She is so sweet. We will definitely be returning for another meal.

I slept great, and the room had a lovely bathtub to wind down after a long drive. In the morning, I had to leave earlier than expected. As I was leaving, I popped into the dining area to let the innkeeper, Anna, know, and she was insistent that she could whip me up some breakfast quickly. She was beyond kind, and the breakfast was fabulous. Some of the best waffles I've ever had! Anna, thank you again for breakfast and the stay. Only reason this is four stars instead of five is how difficult it is to get in touch with them to get a reservation - their email doesn't work, leaving a message on their phone doesn't always get you a response, and they're always busy enough that you can never just drop in. If you're willing to have some stick-to-itiveness to get a spot, though, prepare yourself for three hours of luxurious fun.

Overall, I am glad that a couple dozen of us were able to support this local, independent business, especially since the owner herself stopped by to greet us all one by one and give us a short history lesson of the historic building/former home (formerly owned by wealthy local man, George Ford) and the business itself! The recipies are from the owner's grandmother, whose name is actually Quintilia! As part of our tea party package, we had: -Hibiscus berry tea -Cinnamon orange spice tea -Tomato tortelini soup -Petit fours -Homemade scones -4 half sandwiches and 6 bite size desserts Imo, the best dessert was a small lemon tart! There is, of course, a cute gift shop is on the 2nd floor. I didn't buy anything this time. I spent some time looking around the inside as every room is decorated differently. So in all, my bill came to $51 total with tax and tip. Most of us had leftovers to bring home - i did not. Make sure to call ahead for reservations!
