This is an amazing pet groomer tucked away in a cute location. Coming into the store you're greeted by this amazing lady named Molly who is so kind and sweet. Molly is a true animal lover and she always takes the best care of her animals. In an hour they can clean up your dog (or cat) making it look fresh and healthy. I highly recommend this shop! read more

The young lady with the pink hair is so good with my dogs she cares about her work. This is the best groomer in town. Reasonable prices and excellent work. I would recommend him to all my friends and family! read more

My experience was disappointing to say the least. However, it started out good, Molly was nice and really seems to love dogs. I was looking for a groomer that knew how to do "stripping" for my Irish Terrier. I had a groomer do stripping on my dog before, however, she is no longer in the area. So I asked Molly if she knew how to do stripping, and she said she did. Stripping is done to remove the coat that is dead and leave the new healthy coat underneath, because wire haired terriers have two coats. If the dog is not stripped, then the coat makes the dog too hot in the Summertime, and the dead hair will be shed all over the house. When I returned to pick up my dog, I was disappointed when Molly told me that she has been trying to scratch a spot on her back. Well, first of all she couldn't even reach the spot to scratch, but Molly indicated she must have a "hot spot". Well, my dog was not scratching before I brought her in to get groomed, and when I picked her up she was trying to scratch her upper back and had a large bald spot from the stripping procedure. This had never happened in her previous stripping procedures. Molly said that she did feel bad that she was scratching so she would discount my grooming, however, she still charged me the amount she quoted me on the phone $60 for each dog. So where was the discount? Also I had to go and spend $110 at the vet because Molly suggested that my dog had a "hot spot", and the vet just said that it was not a "hot spot", that in fact the process of stripping is an "art" and some groomers haven't perfected it. I interpreted that as maybe Molly really doesn't know how to properly do stripping and maybe should not be claiming she in fact can practice it safely. My dog is still hot when we take her on walks and is still shedding all over my house. read more

Was so excited to find groomer so close to my house. Nicest people you could ever meet...however, in the 4 years I have owned my long haired Maltese (who gets groomed every 2 weeks) I have NEVER had a worse Bath & Brush! I don't know if they ran out of time and just didn't finish her (it was the end of the day on Saturday) or if this is just the way they groom, but she did NOT receive a brush out and her face and ears were yellow! I had to bring her home and finish her myself. But unfortunately her hair was already dry so the "curly" part would not comb out and I will have to have her done again. I had already paid when he handed her to me so I did not see all this until I got her to the car and looked at her! They were closing so I could not go back in to show them. So disappointed. read more

Molly and Garret and everyone else here take such loving care of their furry clients. I would not trust anyone else with our pugs!!

Molly & her staff at The Tail Wagger are top notch. We have two Miniature Schnauzers, who we keep in the classic Schnauzer cut, which requires great skill. Molly has made sure they look like show dogs every time. Molly & crew are so happy & friendly, and the shop is so cute. Sure enough, our dogs wag their tails when they see The Tail Wagger front door. Hands down, the BEST! read more

We took our schnoodle Davin there today to get clipped. He looked great afterwards. We'll be going back for sure.

We just moved to the area and I was tempted to drive back to LA for his cut but my neighbors recommended the Tail Wagger and My cockapoo Clover got the absolute best cutest haircut in a very timely manner - very kind and professional staff who transformed my description into perfection. I've experienced some awful haircuts before - even he's been shaved without warning at some places - I couldn't be happier. They took the time to even round the face a few millimeters to my liking and i couldn't have asked for better. read more

Molly & her staff do a great job. Our golden gets his summer cut here as well as regular grooming. He is always happy to go back, and looks great! read more

Great for big dogs too! I took my golden doodle here having read the reviews and upon recommendation of friends - I was not disappointed. Molly and her team really care about dogs, being aware and considerate of the fact that my golden doodle puppy, who had masses of hair, was clearly nervous about being groomed. They took time and care. she looks fantastic and is clearly happier for the cut - they cut her, and didn't just take the easy way out and shave her. I will definitely go back. read more

Took my new newfi pup to Tailwagger today. Great staff. The dog was happy when I picked her up and her prices was great. She had lots of big dogs in there as well and medium sized dogs, short and long haired dogs. Everyone seemed to get along fine. read more

I have been bringing my Chow Chow to Molly for over a year and have never had an unpleasant experience. My dog is older, anxious and shy. Molly and her staff really do all they can to make both the dogs and their owners feel as comfortable as possible. My dog is not caged and is not kept any longer than necessary. I usually call for an apppointment on short notice and they always manage to get us in. Their prices are great! The whole staff seem to love the dogs and mine always looks beautiful when I pick her up! I won't take my dog anywhere else! read more

I took both of my cats in to receive their "summer lion" cuts, one on a Thursday morning and the 13 year old tabby the next morning. The first cat had gotten three ion cuts in his 12 years of life whereas the 13 year old tabby had never been shave down before, so I was obviously a little nervous. The staff at The Tail Wagger treated my kitties as if they were their own, giving them time to adjust to this new/strange environment, while cooing and talking to them the whole time to keep them at ease. She was sweet enough to let me sit with her while she shaved both cats to help keep them calm, all the while continuing to talk to and tell my kitties how good they were and how handsome they were! Wonderful service and truly caring staff!! I'll definitely be returning each summer for lion cuts on both cats!! Thank you for caring so much about my precious kitties! read more

I take my 5 year old lab here at least once a month for a bath and nail clipping, and the staff at Tail Waggers does an amazing job. This is the only place I can take my dog without her being scared or refusing to walk into the building. Molly the owner is so sweet and truly cares for the dogs, plus their prices are cheaper than other local groomers. I highly recommend this doggy day spa! read more

I have been taking my dog to The Tail Wagger for several months now without complaint, all has been good until today. I went in for a routine nail trim and anal gland expression on my 20 lb terrier mix who is 12 years old. Every time I take her some place I let them know she is very strong, and very squirmy. The nail clipping usually takes 2 people, 1 to hold and 1 to trim. The groomer today did it all on his own, it was like watching a wrestling match on the table while 2 other groomers stood by and watched and offered no help. He then used the table harness on her and walked away from the table, where she proceeded to get loose and fall to the ground from the grooming table! The other 2 groomers just looked at me in horror like "what is he going to do". But my Mollie came running to me and she seemed fine after taking a 4 foot fall to a hard floor. Right now she seems to be okay and resting, but the carelessness that was showed today will assure that I will never return and I would advise anyone else to go somewhere else. read more

Sorry this is going to be a long review, but you should really read it before you decide to give your money to the rudest business owner of Laguna Beach. I took my dog 3 times to Tail Wagger so I can say that I know what this lady owner called Molly, is doing. The 2 first times, I had an appointment but she still kept my dog for 5 hours which I thought was a little too much... But my mistake, I always tend to forgive and forget, so 2 months later, I called again for another appointment. I bathe my dog myself at least every 2 weeks, and I mainly bring her or a trim. She is a sweet small cavalier so this job is as easy and simple as it can get. Anyway, on the 3rd time, I called the day before and made an appointment for 10AM. On the next day, I arrived at 10:20, delayed by an important work phone call. Considering that she kept my dog for 5 hours the 2 times before, I thought It would not change anything... Still, when I got there, I apologized and ask if she could still take my dog. And she said "Of course no problem, come back at 2pm to pick her up". Basically 3 1/2 for a cute cleaned little dog grooming, still a lot of time, but it's ok ....At 1:30pm, I receive a message "CHANGE OF SCHEDULE, DONT COME AT 2PM, COME AT 4PM". 4pm couldn't work for me, so I called and asked nicely - the way I always talk to people- if she could try to get her ready for 3:30 pm at least. I am thinking after all, it will be 5 hours that she's got my dog!!!! And she plainly responded dry and rude : NO, I CAN'T DO THE HAIR CUT THEN! She's had my dog in a small little cage for 3 hours already and she is telling me she can't do the hair cut?! I nicely reminded her that I had an appointment at 10am and she should have been ready at 2pm. She answered, and I have to put it in capital letters to explain the tone she used, mad and rude: "FINE, COME AT 3PM, BYE" and she HANGED UP ON ME!!!! yes, this is how this lady treats her customers! I came at 3pm, even though 3pm was the time I pick up my daughter, but I still made it on time to follow Miss Molly's orders, and I asked her if she realized that she hanged up on me. She basically said yes, blamed it on me and did not see where the problem was to talk to me this way and to hang up on me, and then, cherry on the cake, said "YOU CAN FIND YOURSELF ANOTHER GROOMER!". Conclusion: I paid $50 for this nice treatment, took my dog home and realized she had cut almost nothing, some areas were not even touched. On leg was done and not the other. I had to finish the job myself for half an hour! This lady is loud, extremely rude, treat the customers like dirt and does not respect the animals either! My dog was so thursty when I got her, no kidding after 5 hours! My advice: Go and spend you money somewhere else. There are some wonderful vets in Laguna who do grooming too. They do a much thorough job (check the ears, anal glands, etc) and will be so happy to have you as a customer! read more

Just wanted to take the 5 minutes to give these guys a review. Not only were they super friendly but they treated my dog like one of their own, and that is the best feeling for a pet owner. My dog's name is bailey and she is a sweet yellow lab. She left her grooming experience just as happy as she came in and if I didn't live in San Diego, this would be my go to groomer. I would highly recommend this shop to any dog lover around. She smells, looks, and feels great. Thankyou!!!! read more

We used to live in Newport Coast and had luckily found Molly who owns the Tailwagger. She educated us on the best way to keep our golden retriever happy in the warm summer months by giving him a puppy cut or a shave down. He was always so much happier after his time at the Tailwagger. We later moved to Arizona and had acquired a rescue lab mix. While vacationing back in the area we absolutely had to bring our dog, Luke, to Molly. It had been many years since we had seen her and she immediately remembered us and was sincerely happy to see us and more importantly groom Luke. The time, patience and understanding she gave to our some times fearful Luke was heartwarming. We have had Luke at the hands of many other groomers but NO ONE could even come close to Molly. His hair cut was perfectly feathered in from his head to his back ( no ledge there!!!) his tail clipped in proportion to his body. Luke's nails were short for the first time in years. No other groomer would give Luke the attention and patience to tend to his long nails due to his skittishness. Whether you have a show dog, a rescue dog or man's best friend give you and your dog a treat and see Molly. Her passion for animals and her great enthusiasm is unparalleled. read more

The Tailwagger - Pet Groomers Near Me - Laguna Beach, California

See all

I have been taking my two Shitzu's to molly for two years (once a month). we love her and her team (I found her through word of mouth by the way). The dogs are never scared. I've never experienced anything but a well oiled machine - dogs are brought in on time and they are ready on time. My dogs are small so I worry about them being nervous and they love Tail Waggers - and before Laguna they have been groomed in many shops. Molly's shop is priced better or as good as the competition and the dogs look great - which is why Im a loyal customer. Thanks Molly! read more

I have been taking my beloved pup to Tailwagger for 10 years. As do many of us in our neighborhood. I have been highly protective of my pup and made sure he was cared for just as I would care for him. The staff at Tailwagger have always been professional, experienced, patient, gentle and loving with my precious Smokey. They have always gone above and beyond, not only in Smokey's care but caring for me as a pet parent. They know his temperament, what he likes, what stresses him and continuously alter their routine to make the experience as easy on him as it can be. I have trusted them all these years and always sent new neighbors to them as I believe they are the best in our town. And I believe it was his special haircut that helped him place in the pet parade every year we entered! Most Gorgeous Senior - thank you very much! This last summer my pup became ill with kidney failure. One of the first calls I got was from Molly to see how I was doing and offering any help if needed. Smoke would not be able to back to them for his monthly spa day... But again, they went above and beyond, Smokey needed to get fluids 3 times a week at the vet and I work as a Pediatric oncology nurse and unable to take him on some days when I worked. This is where the true character of these people come in, they would take him to get his fluids, give him a wee stroll about town and make sure he was comfortable and loved when they brought him back to my home. Sometimes just hanging out with him until I got home. (BTW refusing to let me pay them!!) He loved them just as much as they loved him. He perked up around them every time. Smoke passed away last week and who was there among family and friends? The staff (our adopted family) from Tailwagger. They loved him up prior to his passing and held tight to him and let him know how loved he is. They were there as he left our little shire onto greater things. They have continued to check in on me and give me great love and support and laughter. Who knew that 10 years ago when I popped in that I would have such an amazing relationship with these fine, fine people. Molly has created something that has been long gone, a sense of community, of trust and honest, loving staff. I f I am ever to have another dog, you know where I'm going. If you miss the days of knowing your local business owners and having a trusting relationship with them. Knowing that they care for your baby just as you would... then please support locals. When you do, you give yourself a massive gift. Piece of mind and not to mention, some darn cute pups when you pick them up!!!! Amazing and experienced staff. read more

This is the best place for dog grooming in Laguna Beach. Okay, I have a Weimaraner who doesn't need an elaborate doggie 'do. But, as is typical of Weims, my dog has the dreaded breed characteristic of -- separation anxiety! Because Molly et al genuinely love dogs of all sizes, they know how to cope and always do a great job on my dog's bath and nails! There is never stinky doggie after her spa experience here! read more

My Chico was such a nervous anxious dog and Molly always accommodated him by getting him in and out of there asap. She affecionately called him Drama Boy and took such good care of him. He's passed on now but my next dog will definitely be a Tail Wagger client! read more

I love this groomers, it was the first place that I ever took my dog when I got her. I moved to Newport for a year and still drove my Mama dog to Laguna to get groomed, because I don't really trust anyone else. I posted a review for Tailwagger's in Laguna Beach in February 2016 and I'm posting an updated review to let everyone know how great Tailwagger's is. I have a female Samoyed dog named Angel. I have spent hundreds of dollars on other groomers before I was introduced to Tailwagger's by one of my neighbors that had a client that knew the owner Molly. What also sold me was she has Samoyeds of her own so she understands and knows how to groom a Samoyed. My mom has clients that are groomers so when they come into her office they will see my dogs picture on her desk and they will try and sell their way to get my dog as one of their clients but I tell my mom absolutely not Angels groomer is Molly and she is staying at Tailwagger. I feel bad that Angel is allot of work but when I pick her up she looks beautiful. Her crew is so patient and friendly. Thank you Molly and crew for all you do. We are forever clients read more

i had taken my two dogs to this shop 5 times and was pretty happy with the service. everyone seemed very nice and and despite poor listening skills on how i wanted my doodles groomed i was fine with going back because the dogs seemed to be happy. however on the 4th grooming i noticed several patches on my doodles leg that were still matted and not 'groomed' at all. At the 5th grooming i mentioned that they missed areas on my dog's leg (he's large - 95lbs so i gave them grace because i know he's a lot to groom with his size) and they failed to groom the same area. a few weeks went by and my dog was ill, licking and trying to chew at his lower front leg, and seemingly bothered and not himself. i probed around and realized the area that was matted (and not had any hair cut or de-mated for over 2 groomings) had literally broke off his dew claw and he had a terrible infection. the dew claw was broken in half and raw from his hair binding it). i had $210 dollars in vet bill and antibiotics and cream. I immediately told Molly the owner about this. i also mentioned that i had called to her attention the first time i realized his legs were not groomed and still matted, and then the same result the next grooming and that my poor dog suffered from their negligence and that i had incurred a large vet bill. i was not looking for her to pay the vet bill, but i was looking for an honest apology and (well, customer service... good customer service and a business owner that cares would suggest the next grooming on the house or a discount at least... something to show that they care about their clients and their own reputation...!)... anyway, she never apologized at all. Nothing! it's one thing to be rude, another to have bad business sense, but to be negligent and cause illness/damage to a pet is a whole other area. i would never recommend this groomer to anyone. EVER! read more
