My friend recommended this groomer so I gave them a try for my Bernedoodle's first grooming experience. Of course I was nervous because a bad experience could cause her to get anxious and not want to go again. But these guys are professional and gentle! When I arrived to pick her up she was relaxed and happy! I am so happy that I took a chance on them. We will have them for all of our future grooming sessions. read more

The Tailwagger - Harper after her first groom by Tailwagger - Pet Groomers Near Me - Laguna Beach, California

Great groomer, we take both our dogs here, and the one time we didn't we had to go in and have Molly fix what the other groomer did

I've been coming here 3 years! I've moved twice already and will still make the trip down because My chihuahuas love it! Molly has always treated us with such kindness and hires great employees!!! read more

Molly and her team have cared for my Yorkies grooming for over 20 years! My dogs are loved and always look great.

Last Thursday was the first time I took my dog to be professionally groomed. And I chose to take him to Tail Waggers. Beauregard is 9 years old and I have always bathed him myself. When I dropped Beau off and picked him up, he was happy and boy did he look and smell good!!!! First time he had the hair on his paws and they looked amazing. I'll be taking Beau there again. Thank you. read more

This was the worst hair cutting place I ever taken my dog to I would never recommend. They demanded tips and called me saying "oh by the way my workers rely off tips" like if u want tips then cut my dogs hair not like a 5 year old would MY DOG LOLKS LIKE I PICKED HER UP OFF THE STREET WASTE OF 150 bucks If I could this would be a 0 star read more

Edited: Molly left me a very kind voicemail apologizing and stating she hadn't noticed the bad grooming because he was in his carrier. I appreciate the apology. the first time here I was very happy with everything. My cat seemed a little stressed but cool about it when I picked him up. I was like ok awesome!! Felt I could trust them, perfect. I called this morning asking for an appointment and they called back saying they're booked this week but had a cancellation today. Great! HOWEVER, this time I cannot understand WTF happened. When I called, Molly said she could give me no explanation and that Dimpy must've just been "off" today. First of all she said she opened the carrier and my cat, Dimpy had pooped IN it. In 7 years of traveling with him cross country, multiple cars, airplanes, TSA lines, he travels up to LA with me in the car every other week... etc he's NEVER done that. She suggested it happened on the way there even though I live literally 4 blocks away. I was like huh? I would've noticed!!! But I get it ya know he's a cat they can have issues I'm assuming it happened when I first left or something. I apologize about my cat having an off day... THEN I get home and I was SHOCKED. He had feces still on his stomach and he is SHAVED down on his entire butt region. like what possessed them to shave him this way is beyond me. Last time they trimmed and he was clean and amazing but this time it's actually appalling. Also, if he had pooped and they thought something was wrong, why didn't they call me!?!? Molly also told me that next time to call in advance and they'll have scheduled later in the day... like what?! I could've brought him next week even lol no one said the groom was urgent! Also, If he seemed too stressed that there are too many dogs, why didn't they just wait for there to be less dogs and just give me a call? He's a CAT! like I wasn't in a rush!!! When I called Molly, there was at first no apology just defensive, "there's nothing I can do about the hair that's not there anymore" and "we can re-bathe him if you want" like what?? My cat is hissing at me now while I try to clean feces off of his tummy - I'm not gonna take him back - why didn't they notice he wasn't clean when they put him in his carrier? their job is to send him back to me CLEAN for $90 CASH! Needless to say they've lost my business. Filling their schedule seemed to be the most important thing for them and not the wellbeing or my cat. IF you take your cat here make sure it's wayy in the afternoon because any other time is just too crazy and Molly should've made sure of that for me! I would feel better if I felt they were telling me the truth like a dog got too close or my cat freaked out bc of barking or SOMETHING to explain this shave and why he's so shaken up! honesty goes a long way and this review would not be happening if I had some type of understanding of what happened. honestly though, since when does "a little butt trim" mean SHAVE THE ENTIRE BOTTOM OF MY CAT? I would honestly would be laughing at this shave and how ridiculous it looks if my cat wasn't so traumatized! Wish we would've had a better experience because I was really happy to have found a groomer so close to home... oh well. Edited to add the DM read more

For thirty plus years, Molly, Garrett and her entire crew at Tail Waggers have gone above and beyond in all ways for my pets and family. For three standard poodles and countless rescues animals, I have been going to this exemplary business and I cannot say enough for their kindness, love and care with all of my animals and our family, as well. If I could give them a ten star review, I would. Recently my 16 year old large standard poodle, Sweetie, was near the end of her life. The care and extra time they spent one on one with her was just incredible. They helped her stand, calmed her, and carried her to my car when she was barely able to walk. They took extra care to teach her to be calm while being groomed when she was a baby, and loved her right to the end. She was never afraid to go to Tail Waggers. They are giving the same amazing care to another 17 year old poodle I have. He too, has been going to Tail Waggers since he was a baby. Again, I recommend this groomer to everyone I know without hesitation. These are professional, kind people with a great small business. Many thanks to The Tail Wagger from generations of Amyouny poodles and rescues. read more

I took our two six month old golden doodle puppies for their first face feet and Fanny groom. Garret and Molly were the ones who took care of our baby girls. They said the were " a handful ". I guess so - since they came back not brushed out, not much of a trim, and not completely dry. Very disappointing for our first grooming effort. We definitely will not return. They were a referral from a dog park. So much for that. read more

I met Garrett while taking my dog on a hike. He was walking his two awesome Samoyeds that were very well groomed. When I mentioned that his groomer was doing an amazing job, he said "Thanks I'm the groomer." I asked him if he could help me clip my dog's nails and I expected that I would have to make an appointment, but he ended up helping me clip them right then and there. I tried to pay him and he wouldn't accept it. Thank you very much for your kindness, Garrett! read more

I must respond to that lady listed as D.L ..... you clearly haven't known Molly and the tailwagger very long. I drive to her from H.B (NOT a local), with my very shy and nervous shepard because SHE IS the best. And this brings me to ask how is it that you think you know so much about her employees, the same ones that I've seen there year after year. You must have really pissed her off in order for her to drop you as a client. Best of luck to your next groomer. God bless read more

Thank you for your response Molly. after you hung up on me, I left two unreturned messages, so it's good to get a response here. I "m sure Covid is causing undue stress on business owners, and I understand that. Your routine staffing problems must cause tremendous stress . Not sure where you are getting that you fired me as a client, but I'm certainly ok with your response. You have a great clientele and you are selective regarding the pets you take and when. Fortunately pet owners have that option as well. I wish you only the best and I sincerely hope you get your unfortunate staffing issues resolved. It will help you a lot. Have a great day and stay safe. read more

I've been bringing my goldendoodle here for about 6 years and Molly and the Tailwagger always do a phenomenal job on him! They even took the time to teach me how to properly maintain his coat between appointments and he loves everyone there. I can't say enough good things about this place! Even though I've been bringing my dog to molly at the Tailwagger for years, it has never crossed my mind to leave a review. I came on here to leave this review about this wonderful place but a recent review caught my attention and I just have to say something. I'm talking about you, "D.L"... to assume that molly can't keep staff is very rude. It seems like nowadays, you won't find a place that isn't short staffed. Why would the dog groomers be any different? That doesn't mean she can't keep her staff. I've been coming to her for years and I have always seen the same people working there. Some people just need to learn what patience and kindness are. read more

I've taken my dog twice to be hand stripped. Each time I've been happy with Yoda's disposition when I pick her up, the grooming and the customer service. I have a list of special instructions (no anal gland expression, only wash with product I provide, etc...), and they have accepted that list with a smile and I haven't had any issues with them not following it. It's hard to find someone to do hand stripping so not only do I appreciate their treatment of my dog and myself, I'm also happy that they offer this service! read more

Great local spot to take your dog for grooming. Personal "old school" customer service. This spot only takes cash and checks....again, "old school". Parking is available but difficult to navigate your car in and out of the tight courtyard where the parking spaces are located. Based on my experience with large dogs over the past 30 years, The Tail Wagger is probably $25 more for bath and groom than Petco but its well worth it. read more

Molly and her staff are the best! They sincerely love dogs and treat them beautifully. They do an EXCELLENT job at grooming and "puppy cutting" my Cavalier King Charles Spaniel (and I am picky). Their prices are beyond reasonable and I recommend them to all my friends. Everyone I've sent there has been just as happy as I've been. I've taken Murphy there for nearly 8 years now and there was a time I tried another groomer (because of distance), and Murphy was MISERABLE when I picked him up. After that, I was more than happy to make any length of drive back to Tailwagger where we both leave happy! read more

Nice groomer, but I just hate cages. I called same day to get just a quick wash on a very short haired dog. Showed up, and was told to come back an hour later. Dog smelled great but ears weren't perfectly cleaned. The dogs get put in cages and then the dryer does the work. I am very spoiled to usually have a groomer that does not have a single cage and hand drys the dogs. When the dogs are done they all play together. I think the above is unusual, but it is what I prefer. Still, I would come here but just wouldn't leave my dog for long. read more

By far the best groomer in orange county. I did not know that they only except cash or check and they were kind enough to tell me to come back and pay at my leisure. I've had problems in the past with groomers accidentally cutting my dogs feet because she only weighs 4 pounds. She also shakes from being nervous , She's very small and it takes a lot of attention to detail. She was tired from getting off of a flight when I brought her in but when I picked her up she seemed very happy. The groomer I dealt with was incredibly awesome... He was so kind and I appreciate good people. His love for dogs was apparent as he gushed over her cute little face. In the past I've paid the extra for a mobile groomer to ensure quality of care. I will not be doing that anymore. read more

I'm confused...why is it that there are so many dogs in Dana Point, Laguna getting good haircuts at this joint.?..I brought my 5 month old labradoodle in today and they totally botched it! I brought him in about a week and a half ago for a meet and greet...they cut around his eyes, his head, his ears, and muzzle. They kind of messed up on top but not too bad...Anyway today I explained to Garrett exactly what I wanted...I told him explicitly, do not cut the top of his head, ears, and only a bit around his eye (one eye had a lock of hair that needed cutting). After an hour I received a phone call from Molly saying that there seems to be a problem...she asked what kind of dog I had...I thought that was very weird..she also said that his muzzle was uneven and should they even it out..I said ..well I was in about a week and a half ago so I imagine that whoever cut his hair must have cut it uneven...well yes even it out and make sure you don't cut the top of his head and ears...she basically hung up on me...and didn't listen to a thing I said...I picked him up and to my horror the top of his head was almost bald...his body was so uneven, huge dents in his fur, and his ears were awful..I don't know who cut his hair, an apprentice? but they did a very amateur job and not very professional. I came home, tried to even it out a bit...it will just have to grow out. Very disappointed...after calling to find out why they didn't listen I heard Molly in the background saying they didn't cut the top...that was a blatant lie. Very disappointed...never going back!!!! read more

I had a beautiful experience with the genuinely good people at Tail Wagger. Even on the day of Christmas Eve, they made time for me to bring my cat in to have her nails trimmed and have nail caps put on her front paws. Being my first time, I made the mistake of not bringing nail caps with me for the groomers to put on my cat. They kindly explained to me that they don't sell retail, they only do grooming, and so they don't have nail caps available. This was my mistake, but still they apologized for the confusion and trimmed my cat's nails for free! I appreciated that so much. These are the people you want grooming your pets. People who genuinely care and empathize with others, and therefore go the extra mile. Tail Wagger is a warm, comfortable, happy environment I highly recommend! read more

Molly is the best! I moved to Laguna in 1990 and used Molly for my dog "Tramp" groomings needs. I moved away for five years to Ohio and couldn't find a groomer as great as Molly. I moved back to Laguna with my new puppy "Clooney". He was so frightened to be groomed. Molly was so gentle and loving to him. He fell in love with her! I owned and operated a dog sitting business in Laguna. I sent all my clients to Molly. I always knew they were in good hands and her love and passion for dogs was obvious. My clients adored her. I currently reside in Oregon and have searched high and low for a groomer like Molly. They just don't exist. I am tempted to move back to Laguna just for Molly's services. I highly recommend her and her staff. Her prices are so reasonable compared to Oregon, and I love the fact that she is always concerned about her clients. She's the best! One of a kind! read more
