I've been to this place numerous times, but this particular visit, I felt obligated to write a review. I ordered an al pastor taco and a pollo asado burrito with cheese. When they called my name, I went to the counter and notice that they got my order wrong...they gave me a pollo asado taco, instead of a pollo asado burrito with cheese. I swear I had told the lady that took my order that I wanted a pollo asado burrito, but perhaps I was wrong, or perhaps she was mistaken with what I ordered. Either way, I am not one to make a fuss, as restaurant workers already work hard (especially the workers at this place), so their ears didn't need a brat like me to give them an earful about getting my order wrong during peak lunch hours. Anyways, I pointed out the mistake, and mentioned if I can order a pollo asado burrito. An older gentleman (who appeared to be the owner/manager/someone important) working behind the counter said don't worry about it...he'll make the burrito and call my name when it's ready. I thanked them profusely, went back to my seat and didn't even finish my al pastor taco, because they had called my name in less than a minute. WOW! That's customer service right there! I wouldn't even put The Taco Stand on the top of my list of best mexican food in Vegas, even though their food is pretty damn good, but with customer service like this, they've made the jump on my list, and I'll be returning to eat there more often! read more

I'd still give the nod to Sergs but since the had an actual salsa bar, it's a winnah! I heard it's best to go on off hours cause it gets packed. We had no problem as we went just before 11am. We have been going to Taco Stand a lot recently. The original location was founded in San Diego in 2013 by two guys from Tijuana. There are locations in Southern California, Florida, and Texas, We like how easy it is to get good food fast here. Parking at this location is ample. There's usually not a line when we go and the staff is always friendly. You order at the counter and then seat yourself. Sometimes it takes a little while to get your food, but that's fine because it's made fresh. My favorite items are the carne asada tacos, as well as the camaron (shrimp) tacos and elote. They also offer burritos, quesadillas, carne asada fries, and churros. There is a self-serve salsa bar that offers varying spice levels, from mild to extra spicy. The restaurant isn't fancy and I like that, too. This is just a great place to get some tasty tacos. read more

The carne asada is well-seasoned and authentic, the al pastor is great, and the carne asada fries are delicious. The spicy shrimp taco was excellent too. Our first encounter with The Taco Stand was in San Diego. It was a much smaller location compared to The Taco Stand in Las Vegas that is located at the bottom of Green Leaf Lotus condo complex. My eldest daughter and I stopped by for a quick lunch before exploring the city that never sleeps. Surrounded by friendly and good vibes all around. Big inside space with colorful seating. Tables had drink holders on the side which is a super idea so more space for more food on the table. Wall decor had beautiful art and vibrant colors. Soda fountain and condiments stations were available. Staff was pleasant and helpful. Ambiance was just wonderful. Authentic Mexican restaurant right at the heart of Las Vegas. We dined-in and ordered 2 mushroom tacos, 1 shrimp taco, 1 chicken asado taco, 1 Al pastor taco, and 2 churros. Everything from taco meats and seafood, veggies, tortillas, and churros were so fresh, flavorful, and yummy. Churros were thick and condense milk made it quite a supreme dessert. They were made to order. Quality was on point! Our lunch experience was amazing. We enjoyed it so much we wanted to come back before leaving Las Vegas. However, we didn't make it back. If you're looking for tacos in the Spring Mountain area, this is probably your only option. The tacos are more gourmet by providing a clean taste with a slightly higher price point. We ordered 2 al pastor tacos and the carne asada fries. The tacos are great as they have a really clean taste and comes has it's own sauce on it. The carne asada fries on the other hand were good, but not great. In my opinion it was less salty and was missing some type of essence that I was looking for. I wasn't drunk, but I feel like this flavor wouldn't be what you're looking for after a night of drinking in Vegas. The location is pretty spacious, but there are times when it gets busy and you may have to get lucky to have a spot to eat at. This place can do a little better as far as cleanliness. It has potential but there was trash all on the ground and the trash was full. The little bit of effort would have made the experience a little better. The service is decent, but if there is a line, you may find yourself waiting outside in the cold/hot depending on the season. This place does its job by providing your taco fix with a clean taste but not a crave-able taste in my opinion. The salsa bar is dangerous because I always grab too much. They've got mild ones and spicy ones so you can mix it up depending how brave you're feeling that day. The al pastor tacos are a must. They shave the meat right off the spit and throw pineapple on it and it just hits every time. The carne asada is also really good, super juicy and flavorful, especially on the fries. The shrimp tacos are another favorite, the shrimp are grilled perfectly and the sauce has a little kick but nothing crazy. If you're hungry hungry or sharing, the carne asada fries are the move. They're loaded and filling. And don't skip the churros. They come out warm with condensed milk and they're honestly the perfect way to end the meal. First of all, shout out to the staff for being incredibly kind and considerate despite this place being super busy - they listened very intently to my very picky order and got it out fast and with big smiles on their faces too. Wanted The Taco Stand so I decided to stop at the location on Spring Mountain Rd. West. There was a small but fast moving line. When it got to my turn I knew exactly what I wanted to try. I ordered the Camaron Burrito (Grilled shrimp, melted cheese, avocado, tomato, and chipotle sauce). This burrito was very hearty- filling, I even had a half of it left for my lunch today at work. It was worth every cent I spent, including my tip I put in their bucket. It's always pretty busy whenever I go here. They asked was gonna eat in or 2Go. I chose to eat in my car just because they tables weren't clean and the staff were all doing tasks: like wiping down the dirty trays, cleaning the kitchen etc. I definitely didn't want to add to the work load. Hands down one of the best taco spots in Vegas. There is a good amount of parking here too! There's table seating and right when you walk in you can see the menu and the kitchen. A couple weeks ago my friend asked if I'd ever tried "The Taco Stand," and I immediately asked her which taco stand because... I've eaten my share of tacos. The tacos are street-taco sized but loaded with protein, which I love. All three had great flavor, but the Carne Asada stole the show for me -- so tender and flavorful. I came in on a Sunday afternoon around 2:30-3:00, and it was very busy--most tables were full, and it took quite a while just to get my order in. Ordering is counter-style and then you pick up your food, but with the crowd, it felt like they could definitely use more staff to speed things along. That said, once I got my food, it was tasty. The concept feels fresh for Vegas--more of a true taqueria compared to the fast-food-style Mexican spots like Roberto's or Don Tortaco. Found this gem via instagram. Small restaurant under an apartment complex. Got there exactly at 11am when they opened and there was a line outside the door. It went quickly though.
