The staff are excellent from the cooks to the servers, to the menu, you will be so happy for walking in. This is a place where locals and visitors come too and both are treated well. Upon entering the order line you will get your first glimpse of what's in store. Tacos. But not just any taco, these are well thought out flavor combinations piled onto a tortilla you wished was a little larger just because they don't skimp on the fillings. Oh so fresh and satisfying are the flavors you will experience. My wife and I have only lived in the area for 6 months and we came from the Mall of Georgia area where you can get almost anything. So we are a bit spoiled, but The Taco Shed has won our tastebuds over. We usually order the two taco special. I am a big guy and it's always enough to leave me satisfied. The pricing is fair and square too. The food comes out in short order and has yet to be wrong or prefabricated feeling. You fill and refill your drink at a drink station yourself. Other than that the rest is delivered with a smile right to your table. Lots of folks carry out but we normally dine in. I hesitated to review this place for selfish reasons. I hope that rough exterior still scare's a few people away. I know the treasures awaiting inside. So instead I have given my review. Had the veterans (Chicken taco), Jstars (marinated sweet and spicy beef) and Perry Panther (shrimp w/ bang bang). The jstars was the best with perfect balance of sweet and spice. The perry panther was also good and the bang bang sauce was excellent. The veterans was a little disappointing, it was fairly bland. We were at the air museum next door and the people highly recommended The Taco Shed. Don't be fooled by the exterior it looked closed when we went but inside was very well decorated and larger then I thought it would be. You order at the counter and then they give you a number and bring the food out. We all ordered something different and we were all very satisfied with our choices. The food came out as it was ready so we did get some faster the mothers but it was worth the wait. Very nice employees and even recommended their special of two tacos of your choice with chips and salsa. We will definitely be back to try more next time. read more

Tacos are really good and the salads are really good. The chips can be good, but they're not always fresh. The guacamole was brown and when I asked for fresh guacamole, I got a bunch of stank attitudes... the lady in the back said "it was just made yesterday". Welp that explains it. A great place to get big tacos that definitely fill you up! I love supporting local places, especially ones that I'll always come back to. There's so many different kinds of tacos here (my favorites are the Dirty Bird and Hwy 96), some named after local places and people, and they even have a Taco of the Month! The December 2020 TotM was Bacon Mac n Cheese. I gave this place 4 stars because of how they're handling COVID. This is just my opinion so you may see it differently than I do! Several times employees pull their masks down or have it below their nose. There isn't really social distancing inside and there isn't a divider between you and the cashier. If these things concern you I would do the carry-out or carry-to-your-car options, but if not there's lots of seating to eat at. read more

If you order the chips and salsa/queso, plan to share them! The portion is quite large. The salsa is pretty fantastic and really the best thing I had. I ordered two tacos. They're much larger than the street tacos I'm used to and we're quite filling, but they're covered in that cheap/tasteless shredded cheese. The flavors and textures just weren't there. My older daughter and I finally drove out to The Taco Shed last week to give it a try after hearing lots of good things about it. My daughter had a Green Street and Davis taco while I tried the Demon. We shared chips with guacamole and she'd corn. My daughter really liked her tacos as did I (however I didn't find mine in the least bit spicy). The tacos filling is very generous and tasty, the guacamole was good but could use a little more seasoning and kick for and the she'd corn was good. Tacos for Southerners.....nothing about this place is authentic or Mexican. The tortillas are all pre packaged, salsa is tomato sauce and they place is completely overpriced. They even put rice in their "famous" breakfast burritos(facepalm). Most people from Central Georgia love this place (they know nothing else but Taco Bell as the "Standard"). This place is too expensive to be giving people the small portions that they do. The tacos are not big enough to justify the price. Also, their chips and salsa are nasty. Chips are not warm, salsa tastes like something out of a jar and not freshly made. I do not recommend this place. You're better off going to Taco Bell. I had the fromminator and the hoco. They were both tasty but for tacos that cost 4 and 5 dollars a piece, yes that's the price for one taco, you'd expect a more generous portion size. We came here for lunch today. It was relatively crowded as all the tables were occupied and there was a line to order. Fortunately, by the time we received our order, some tables opened up. I had the Watson (fajita steak taco) and the McConnell (chicken with mango). I really liked the Watson but the McConnell was only decent. Pretty good is an accurate description. The best that I have ever had, no. I would not call this an authentic taco shop, but it hits the spot when you are hungry. It is more like, Americanized Tacos, but they do double up on your tortilla so that it doesn't bust as the taco comes close to your mouth. It is fairly informal and everyone goes to the counter to order which makes it fairly easy to go with people from work (no need to split checks). The tacos are fairly saucy so, if you are not into that; make sure that you ask for the sauce on the side. In terms of service, I didn't see anything extraordinary. This restaurant has a great look! When we walked in, we started smiling because The Taco Shed has a great feel and ambiance. One thing we noticed is that there really isn't a set up for larger groups. We had 6 in our group and all the tables were set up for 4 max. The wait staff was very nice and genuinely seemed to enjoy their work. As we were looking for a place to sit, the manager came over to offer assistance. We ended up taking up an area in the center that was "U" shaped and facing away from each other. The food was good but not great. Our major concern with the tacos was that the tortillas were served cold, which was not what we expected or appreciated. I had a Smoked Brisket Taco on Corn and a new Seafood Taco on Corn. The brisket was good but it tasted like liquid smoke. Now the seafood taco (other than the tortilla) was spot on! It had a great flavor and I would have gone back for another, but I just couldn't get past the cold tortillas. We really liked the look and feel of The Taco Shed and the food was good. We would suggest this restaurant and will probably go back in the future. Suggestion: Ask for the tortillas to be cooked. read more
