If your looking for that "perfect place" for a special evening dinner out, this is IT! I don't mean just great, or really good, but mouth watering breathtakingly kinda good. The ambiance is fine dining meets comfortable, just takin a breath of fresh air kind of good. I left thinking this was one of the best meals out I have ever had...and I can tell you that thought doesn't run through my mind every day! This beautiful eatery in the back of a local bed & breakfast was 5 star quality and 5 star service with an air of small town charm. You leave feeling like you will be returning "some day", because you don't want to imagine what life would be like not to! Thank you Casey and Crew for making our 21st wedding anniversary dinner out one we will never forget! The food seemed lazyly constructiond ,as multiple courses were seemingly just ingredients thrown on a plate. The building wasn't as clean as I expected for such a pricy meal. The charcutery board wasn't what I was hoping for based off of how the restaurant presents itself, and the time spent on the meal seemed excessive. I was at least hopeful to end on a pleasant note, but was given a science experiment of a cheesecake. We came for dinner last Friday night for their fixed menu, and we greatly enjoyed our experience; the service was exceptional. The ambiance was cozy and elegant. We all LOVED the charcuterie that came out first with local and seasonal items, as well as the starters (choice of scallops or sliced beet and goat cheese). The waiters as well as the chef came out multiple times to ask how we were doing. We all agreed that the mains could have been better. The lamb was overcooked, and the chicken dry; neither was inedible, we just expected more from this restaurant. The fish main was decent but not amazing. So whomever prepped the mains could work on that. We all enjoyed our desert. I really want to give this restaurant 5 stars and with a tweak of the mains I will be happy to. We were staying at the B&B here so it was very convenient to just walk over to have dinner. And, it was a great dinner for a very fair price. When we made reservations, there was a dinner deal if you'd go before 7:00. For $20 you get two cocktails and a starter. The cocktails alone were about $10 each so this is a good deal. The servers were good, but we're little to frantic. There were only two of them so maybe they felt frantic, but the service was just fine. You can sit inside or outside, and people with young children seemed to prefer the outdoor choice. The food was very very good! See my photos for details. After reading reviews, looking at the menu, and seeing pictures of the dinners at The Table we were so excited to have dinner while staying at the inn. Unfortunately, our experience did not match anything we saw. When we entered that Saturday night, no one greeted us at the door. Not a big deal, but for what is supposed to be a great dining experience that's a little disappointing. We were able to pick our table. After a little while a server came over and asked to take our drink order. She was less than friendly. We started off with two cups of the she crab soup. After a long while, two dixie sized cups finally came to the table. Cold. I told the server the chowder is delicious, but cold. Without apology, she took the soups from the table. Minutes later she returned with the same two cups that she microwaved. For $10 a cup, that's quite disappointing. The menu that was offered that night, was nothing like the menu we saw online or the menu that was in the inn. Choices were limited and not great. If we had known, we would have made other plans. But alas, we were already there so we tried to make the best of the situation. We ordered the duck eggrolls and the fried green tomatoes. Both were decent, but definitely nothing special and definitely not worth $15 a piece. We also ordered the crab cake dinner to share. It was okay. Again - not worth the price tag. The salt and pepper shakers on the table were empty. The one server complained to us about the other server. The butter that came out with the bread was hard as a rock. Everything was okay and passable for a dinner if you have no other options. Was it intimate? No. Was it special? No. Was the food mouth-watering, delicious and picture worthy? This place is quite the experience. The restaurant is small and intimate. The service is pretty good, it was a little slow but it was also in the middle of Hurricane Ian so tha might have slowed down the staff. The food absolutely makes up for it though. The wait was a little long but I think it's because they really do cook each plate per order. The huntsman chicken was so good and the mashed potatoes were so smooth and garlicky. The glazed carrots were delicious as well. My husband had the filet mignon and it literally melted in my mouth. We are staying at the inn again and rather venturing out to another restaurant we will be back at the Table tonight again. read more

The lamb chops, roasted veggies, fingerling potatoes, duck egg rolls, cake for dessert was excellent. Everything cooked as order to perfection! Service by Casey was excellent! Even though the dining room was full of diners, my cousin and I were able to relax and chat easily. I would recommend this 5 star dining experience to everyone. However, my 4 stars is due to the sorely out of date online menu. The beautifully plated dinner pictures are of foods not currently served and not even in the recent past. As a frequent diner, I suggest the online media be updated to reflect the amazing menu choices. read more

In this tiny romantic town of Edenton, North Carolina, this may be one of the few "fine dining" restaurants. May of 2016, my "then boyfriend," who later that night became my fiancé, made a surprise reservation for us to dine here for our 5th anniversary. It is attached to the Inner Banks Inn, on E. Albemarle Street. (Everything is on Broad street, E. Albemarle, or Queen Street.) Very easy to find, and easy to park as well. Inside, you'll see that it's very small, maybe 10-12 tables, so reservations are a must, especially on weekends and popular holidays. They had a little place card with our now last name on it. Service was superb. Excellent and very attentive staff, which I find is usually the case at fine dining restaurants. For drinks, he had a Moscow Mule, and I had the Edenton Bay Cocktail. For dinner, he chose the Bison Short Rib, and I had the "Painted Hills Beef Striploin with asparagus, puréed fingerlings, port veal jus, and chanterelles." Basically fancy terms for steak, mashed potatoes, gravy, and small mushrooms. I only know the detailed description because I looked at my description on my Yelp pic. Lol. I came here for a belated birthday dinner with a friend. The food was excellent and the service was personalized and attentive. My one quibble is that I am a vegetarian and there was not a single vegetarian entree available! It never feels good to have to ask for an entree with everything except the meat - it does feel like you're being a bit cheated as a vegetarian. I got a pasta-with-chicken dish without the pasta and it was fine, but definitely I wish they had something that was a better veggie entree. Otherwise, a great experience. Our experience at the table was very enjoyable! The staff was friendly and hospitable. Taylor and Jennifer made the dining experience both special and memorable. Super compliments to chef Casey and his team for knocking the food out of the park. I had the tuna tartare appetizer that was fresh and delicious, highly recommend this to start your evening. We had Sunday brunch here. The menu prices tend to be a bit more gracious for brunch rather than dinner. The food was delicious, well seasoned, cooked to perfection. Portion sizes tend to be on the smaller side but the quality tends to make up for it. My wife had the banana's foster pancakes - DELICIOUS. Perfectly fluffy pancakes mixed with the sweet and buttery caramel sauce and bananas. I could of had a second round of those. I had the steak and egg scramble. I could have used some more egg in the scramble but overall great tasting. Again the food does tend to have a "artisan" feel aka small portions but I would still return. read more

Let's run through the items we had: Spinach & artichoke dip with pita points: this was more like a soup - it was very watery and could in no way be a dip. It seemed to be missing the ingredients that give it a thickness of a dip. It was barely warm. Salads: we both got house salads with blue cheese dressing. The salads came dressed - they were tossed with the dressing before serving. They were cold and crisp. The dressing was tangy but there were no visible pieces of blue cheese in it. For entrees we both had the scallops: 4 scallops were well prepared with appropriate sear. These were on a bed of black rice with broccolini and micro greens. The scallops were properly trimmed and not gritty. The serving temperature however was tepid, and the dish cooled considerably during eating. Service: The service was very good - attentive without being annoying. Courses arrived with good pacing - not too fast and not too slow. Bottom line: Given the $100+ tab, a bit of a disappointment. I was left with the impression that there was a lack of attention to details as the courses left the kitchen. This was surprising because for most of the meal we were the only people in the restaurant. What could have been excellent items were mediocre. read more

Came in from Raleigh to spend the weekend in Edenton and explore a new NC city. This restaurant is very cute! Food was delicious. We had a table for 6, 4 of us ordered the Lane Farms Filet and were not disappointed! Gorgonzola cream sauce and shrimp were bursting with flavor. This is probably the best restaurant in Edenton. Service: exceptional - our waitress was very attentive and gave great recommendations. Cons (Only reason for 4 stars and not 5) - the very small wine list on menu didn't reflect inventory. We tried ordering Sauvignon Blanc and they did not have ANY in house, had to order Pinot Grigio. Meat was cooked inconsistently, although delicious, half the table ordered medium other half medium rare, my medium was more under cooked and more rare. Major con: old building and poor circulation of air - room temp was 86 degrees, we requested them to turn on air but was told it was already on. Moved tables and it was MUCH better. read more

The Table was a very pleasant evening spent with the family. The setting is elegant, the wait staff is very receptive and the food outstanding. Additionally, the evening we attended, there was entertainment in the person of a jazz musician who was perfect for the setting...great music that did not overpower the room - just right for music enjoyment and table conversation. The wine list is very much better than most small venues and a number of larger restaurants we've visited. Top shelf options that would please anyone. The food presentation, options, preparation and serving were equally much above the normal in any similar restaurant experience have had. In addition to the wonderful dining experience, the Table presents an elegant courtyard for photos and relaxation before or after dining. All-in-all, truly, a five star experience. Come back if they're busy. I had breakfast and dinner here while staying at the Inn. My breakfast order came out entirely wrong, and took a long time because there were quite a few people there. The "hash browns" at breakfast are not that. It is a potato casserole. None of the food I had here for breakfast or dinner was as hot as I'd like it to be. I ordered the soup du jour for dinner and it came out cold. They replaced it with a hot cup for me, but the portion size was disproportionate to the cost, and for a restaurant Iike this I expected the "soup of the day" to be made the day of. I guess it was "soup of the other day". I must say that the tuna tartare was amazing. Seasoned perfectly. Overall I think the food is a four out of five, but the price is not commensurate with what you get. I would probably come back but I'd definitely wait until they're not busy. read more

There are not many restaurants open on Sunday so the hotel clerk recommended The Table. It is a fairly new restaurant that is located in a B&B. The decor is very well done and the wait staff does an excellent job. We had been travelling most of the day and didn't want a full meal so we each had a garden salad and a crab cake. Very disappointing experience. Read some great reviews and got a personal recommendation from previous customers. I had the scallop special with so-called risotto and greens. The scallops were large and well-cooked with a proper sear on top, topped with a good tomato jam. Final scallop had grits in it, so the remainder was left on the plate. What was called risotto was under-seasoned and overcooked and gummy. No toothiness at all. Greens were good. My husband had the NY strip with fingerling potatoes and roasted veg. He rated the steak as very good and the potatoes and veg as good. Plating was sloppy, a big pile of everything (including pre-sliced steak) dumped on the plate. Dessert should have been a no, but the waitress said the magic words: creme brûlée. So I ordered it, and my husband got the apple cobbler. The creme brûlée was ridiculous. Completely unset and still a little warm. The sugary topping was way too thick. Instead of paper thin and crispy, it was like trying to eat a sheet of hard candy. I've never, ever had unset creme brûlée before, but I ate it because, well, boiled custard sort of like grandma made, only less flavor than hers. The apple cobbler was nearly tasteless, not enough sugar or spices with a gummy pastry bottom and top. Plate was garnished with raw pecan pieces and dried cranberries. Why? With the prices this place charges (which I have no problem with if you deliver) and its billing as a "fine dining" establishment, the chef or whoever was in the kitchen tonight should be embarrassed.
