The service was a little slow but the food is fantastic. Pretty pricey, but it's Oak Brook - unique ingredients and new flavors for me which was fun. We ordered potstickers, waffle fries, salad, vegetable ceviche, and a tofu noodle dish - the tofu noodle dish was so good that we ordered two entrees to go. read more

Ok gave it a 5 for ambiance, cleanliness and good service. I wanted to give it 4 stars but my son like it he had steak with & wontons $38 with sssorted mushrooms, gruyere caramelized onions. My ice cold coffee too strong so I will be bouncing from place to place too much caffeine. This is a very nice restaurant for the entire family. We ended up eating here twice now on 2 different occasions while shopping at the mall and it was so good both times. The food is great, the service is great, and it's also the best people watching, if you're into that. We got sat outside, which we actually preferred and there were heating lamps that kept us at the perfect temps. The edamame dumplings and waffle fries are so delicious! Those edamame dumplings are our favorite and I wish I could eat them everyday. We also really liked the flautas and the yogurt parfait, although watermelon in the yogurt parfait might've been sort of a weird choice, some berries would've been better than the watermelon. They also have delicious coffee and lattes. Oh and I'd like to mention that everything we got is vegetarian since my friend is a vegetarian, v solid veg options here! We will def continue to stop here to eat and recharge while shopping! read more

The Table at Crate - Clockwise starting from the top: Curry waffle fries, mushroom flautas, edamame dumplings, yogurt parfait. So good. - New American Near Me - Oak Brook, Illinois

WAY over priced. Just my wife and I and we don't order alcohol and it came out to $125!!! First and last time coming to this place!

Great quick service shop and dine. The caramel cappuccino is a must. It's a bit on the sweeter side but quite delicious. Burger is a bit on the pricier side but seems typical for this area. A must try if in oakbrook. read more

Came here to celebrate a bday. This was my second time here and I chose this place because I had really liked the food and ambience when I had come in Fall of 2020. Unfortunately this time the food was really disappointing. Location of the restaurant is nice. It's located inside the Crate and Barrel store in the Oakbrook Mall. You can sit inside or they do have good amount of outdoor seating. The outdoor seating is nice by the fountain. We started with an app and then 2 things from their main menu. In the app - we got the white bean hummus and with rice crispy cracker. Overall the taste of the hummus was ok because it did have olives but felt it was too soupy. For the main dishes we decided to get the spicy chicken sandwich and vegetarian korean bbq ramen. The Spicy Chicken sandwich - came with waffle fries and spicy aioli. The sandwich was disappointing. It tasted like a chicken parmesan sandwich than a spicy chicken sandwich. The Korean Bbq Ramen - this was vegetarian with tofu and soft boiled egg. Unfortunately the broth had absolutely no flavor. It was super bland. This had come highly recommended by the waitress but definitely would advise against it. Since it was a bday, the waitress brought a chocolate chip cookie with vanilla ice cream on top. To be honest, this was the best dish we had. It's decadent but delicious. Since the food here is pricey, I would not recommend this place for what you are getting. I definitely will not be going back. I think there are better options in that area that is better tasting and at a good price point. read more

Stopped in here while shopping at the Oakbrook Mall for a quiet lunch. We were able to grab a seat right away in the heated outdoor area, but there was a wait for indoors (so make a reservation if you want to be guaranteed a spot inside)! The menu isn't large, but it has a lot of different items that suite all types of allergies and tastes. We started with some signature drinks; Cucumber Crush and Just in Thyme. For a starter, we ordered the Edamame Dumplings and for the mains, I got the Shrimp Poke. My Mom ordered the Quinoa and Shrimp Stir Fry for herself. We were happy with everything! The flavors were fresh and the meals were pleasantly filling. Our drinks weren't our favorites, but we still enjoyed sipping on them. The ambiance outside was nice, minus the scaffolding around. We were seated away from other tables, so that made for a quieter setting. The staff was also great. Our waitress was attentive and someone was always around to take our plates and ensure we had enough water. Overall, very fun spot for a meal while in Oakbrook. A nice mix of drinks and food at a good price point! I'll definitely be back to try some of the other options they have! read more

First time coming here with a group. Food wasn't great. The pesto pasta had no pesto flavor but instead all I tasted was overwhelming lemon. The salmon was just ok. Drinks were decent and the service was just ok. The main reason this went from 3 stars to 1 was they made my wife sick. She has a gluten allergy and we eat out all the time. It's been a long time since she's gotten sick going out and they definitely glutened her with the gf salmon... not fun having flu symptoms for a day from a meal.. read more

The service, food and ambiance were extraordinary. Highly recommend the Table. We will be coming back.

Food was very good. Although, Poke Bowl had a Mediterranean flavor rather than Asian. Didn't get the wrong quinoa mix or not read the description well? Service was superior. Ambiance is great. Biggest detractor were the bathrooms. Not opposed to going into the store and up the escalator. However, when paying $80 for 2 people for lunch (and no alcohol or dessert) I think clean bathrooms should be available. Broken toilet paper holders, broken soap dispensers, paper and tissue on the ground. One hand dryer that sounded like it was ready to quit at any moment. CB can do better. read more

The Table at Crate! This is my first ever food review but I'm deciding to give it a try, bear with me people :) I actually work across the street from The Table at Crate, and had a rare chance to go home early, so naturally I went to the mall. I've passed by this place countless of times and actually remember when it first opened up not too long ago, but never had an opportunity to stop by until now. Wow! What a gem! I ordered the C & B Burger and although I normally don't enjoy burgers, this one hit the spot for me! Meat was cooked perfect medium rare and the fries were seasoned to the gods- the aioli sauce could not be beat as well! Overall I enjoyed my experience, the service was more prompt than expected, however I did come when it wasn't very busy. And lastly, a PSA to everyone in regards to all restaurants right now: An important thing to note especially with covid and hiring challenges is that a lot of restaurants are struggling with staffing, so please be patient with the people serving you! As someone who works BOH, remember that the people making and serving your food are eating their dinners in the back, it's hot, we usually have to stand and don't have a lot of time to eat if any at all- all to make sure our customers enjoy their food in the best environment That concludes my review of The Table at Crate! . read more

The atmosphere and service were nice especially near the green space and fountain. However, the food is overpriced for what it is. Also, all of our salads were DRENCHED in dressing. I should have sent it back because it was almost inedible. I regret that I didn't and I still left hungry. read more

I had low expectations for this place, man they nailed it. I wanted a light lunch and opted for Spinach Pesto Dip. It had Yogurt, roasted garlic, tomato, asparagus, cucumber, pita chips (v). Very flavorful. Fresh veggies and the asparagus spears were perfect. Wife had poke bowl with fried tofu. We both had an Arno.d Palmer as out beverage. Service was attentive and prompt. Outdoor seating is available, but it was a hot and muggy day so we opted for indoor seating. My only complaint, however minor, was the noise level. The acoustics as the are amplifies and echos everything so the decibel level was a bit high. Not uncomfortable, but I suspect we'd have enjoyed eating outside if the weather was milder. All in all they exceeded my low expectations. Enjoyed our meals. read more

Great cozy atmosphere with great service and food!! Staff is super accommodating . Price is right too!

It's a HARD PASS on The Table at Crate. The actual restaurant is attractive and pleasant to dine in. Unfortunately, the actual restaurant is not edible. My wife and I had dinner this week around 6pm and the restaurant traffic was very light. We ordered the goat cheese dip ( fair price, tasty), the C&B Burger (overpriced ($20) and small for the price, the taste was OK), cauliflower lasagna (overpriced ($22), tasteless, dry.....it's just chopped cauliflower with a ton of melted cheese over it) and apple cran buckle for dessert( ($14) very dry and unmemorable). I had to pour my coffee cream over the apple cran buckle to eat it. Service was great whenever our waiter came to the table, which was seldom. Bottomline: skip the dinner and just order a dessert and coffee or just coffee. read more

I have been to "The Table" a few times because it's conveniently located in the Oakbrook mall and usually not very busy so you can get a table right away. The food taste good. Everything I have ordered from the restaurant was pretty good with good flavor and not very heavy. My gripe here is the service. The times I have came, there is usually a different staff but the service has remained the same : not great. Even when it is not busy at all the service is slow. The servers are not the most social which is fine but sometimes it is simply awkward. On our last visit I ordered the protein bowl which had chicken on it but I did not see or taste the chicken at all. I asked my wife just to verify and she agreed so when I mentioned it to the server, he just argued that it is there and that people usually miss it. Well sounds to me like you guys need to make the chicken more prominent if that is true. I was given later a bowl with chicken to add to my dish. There was a big difference. The food usually tastes good here but the service is lacking. read more

The food here tasted really fresh and the restaurant area has a nice ambiance if you are seated further into the dining area. If you are on the edge of the dining area, you're up against the store merchandise and people are shopping around you while you eat. While my meal was quite good the menu here is limited. I do recommend the lemon chicken but it's the baked Alaska that really stole the show for me. Boy, do they make a great one! read more

This is perfect they should have this restaurants in all their locations. Can wait to go back good selection of food

Just left Table. Came with a $60 gift certificate given as a Christmas gift. It was rejected saying that they have a new software program and are unable to accept the card until tomorrow. I find it hard to believe that a national company such as this would not provide the training services to accommodate their own customers. Left with no satisfaction after speaking with the manager. Obviously will not return. Most unfortunate. I was surprised to hear from the restaurant manager who apologized for our experience. He took full ownership of the computer issue and explained the problem. Mr. Marshall then offered to comp our meal and invited us to return. Obviously such customer service is admirable and we will return. read more

It was a pleasure to receive an invite to attend @ The Table At Crate first Wind Down Wednesday Event. The first ever full service restaurant and bar inside of Crate and Barrel store located in Oak Brook. What a great way to unwind after a long day at work. I love the décor and layout of the restaurant. Nice elegant and romantic atmosphere. We sat in a nicely dim area with couches, tables and chairs. Super comfy. The staff was very friendly and attentive. The Manager and General Manager (Ed Carrella) stopped by our table and chatted with us. We started off with 3 wines and lite bite appetizers. The whole experience was top notch. I was pleasantly appreciate to have attend this event. I will make sure when I'm in Oak Brook to stop in again to try something on the menu. read more

We started with spinach pesto dip, it had good flavor however the chips were very hard. Our main courses were the Chicken pita, lemon chicken and soba noodles. The soba noodles are served cold and we're light and refreshing, the chicken pita had the same spinach pesto dip as the appetizer. The lemon chicken was a mixture of white and dark breast which was good. The real stand outs were the Banana Bread Pudding and the pretty cool dark chocolate coconut ice cream bar. The lavender lemonade was beautiful and refreshing, the surprise was being charged 4.00 for each regular brewed iced tea refill. read more

I have mixed feeling about my dinner here. The cocktail was fantastic, as was the spinach pesto dip, but the "poke bowl" left much to be desired. This place probably deserves 3 stars, but my friend loved the poke bowl with salmon so I'll give it 4. More pita would have been nice for the dip bc I was eating it by the spoonful about halfway through. Don't expect a regular poke bowl if you order it. This does not resemble poke at all. I think the name just makes what they bring out totally disappointing...they maybe could have called it an Asian cauliflower rice bowl or something. The tofu was a bit dry as well and had no flavor. Finally, the strawberry trifle had great strawberry flavor, but the pound cake was super heavy and dense. It ruined the dessert and I ended up just eating the sauce. My friend liked her banana bread pudding hence the 4 stars. I don't think I would try this place again for anything more than drinks and appetizers.... read more

After several appetizers, mains, and desserts, I feel I can give a discerning review. The Table at Crate is the first of its name and Crate and Barrel's ("C&B") first full-service restaurant. Located in the spectacular outdoor mall of Oakbrook Center; if you think this is anything like cafeteria food at IKEA, darling think again. With indoor and outdoor seating, the space in true C&B fashion is both casual and elegant. Everything is presented on C&B's signature white dishware. This location was chosen as the pilot due to being the highest-grossing C&B Nationwide, as well as having striking views that overlook several fountains and pristine landscaping. After I was seated, while perusing the menu, I was immediately greeted by Jade. * Spinach & artichoke dip w/ puffed rice crackers: There's a reason spinach artichoke dip is so popular, it is warm, cheesy and delicious! Yet here, it has been heightened by the texture of the puffed rice crackers and fresh local indigents that get a chance to shine without preservatives. Lots of extra fresh cheese on the top doesn't hurt either. * Watermelon salad **substituted shrimp for salmon**: To me, this was the standout entrée. This salad is made of poached shrimp, forbidden black rice and agave dijon dressing yet I substituted shrimp for salmon. The salmon was flawless on its own without any sauce or the salad accouterments. Golden, crisp on top, seasoned to perfection (prepared the way it is in fine dining establishments), it was served over delicious (and good-for-you) forbidden black rice. The forbidden rice isn't hard like wild rice. The watermelon was luscious and picked at its peaked. The vinaigrette dressing is so fresh, bright, beautiful, and indeed, the whole dish is light and flavorful. * Deep dish cauliflower lasagna: This dish was actually recommended to me by Chef, Bill Kim. The cauliflower lasagna (tomato garlic sauce & mozzarella) tasted as if it included a high caliber béchamel. I usually hate, hate, hate ricotta, yet Chef assured me it was not what I was used to. You know when a sauce tastes better the next day because it marinated and percolated - this is like that except you don't have to wait. This lasagna was very forward with bold vegetable flavoring. The cheese wasn't too soft or runny, and everything just melted together so superbly. An enchanting and super healthy lasagna - this just hits different. * Passionately Purple: Made with lunazul blanco tequila. This has the right balance of sweet and tart. I really enjoyed this adult beverage. The daily desserts are orated by your table attendant (no official paper dessert menu). So far, I've indulged in: * Pot de crème (pronounced: poe duh krem): The pot de crème (macadamia milk, apricots, and fresh granola) is a MUST HAVE. The granola is made; you guessed it, in house. The apricots are plump and overall; this is an impeccable dessert that is suitable for vegans, I'd rename this dish a "pot of perfection." * Phat cookie: This double fudge cookie is ridiculous. The macadamia nuts are super fresh (I know - I've picked and cracked them in Hawaii). The dough for all the cookies is made fresh here, and the quality is definitely discernible. Think push your momma down the stairs good (okay but don't do that). Bottom line - get a dang dessert!!! On every visit, I was warmly greeted by the floor Manager, Manny, and even the Chef, Bill Kim. Everything was well executed and divine (shout out to the kitchen)! The menu is very thoughtful only heightened by the precise execution from the kitchen. In total: The service was impeccable. The pacing was precise. The follow up was respectable and not rushed. My only quibble: There is no restroom in the dining area - so you have to walk around to get back into the store and then go upstairs. No worries, consider the extra steps a bonus to burn off the deliciousness that was just lavished in. There isn't a similarly situated restaurant like this in the area. If the initial buzz doesn't diminish, and consistency stays above par; The Table at Crate will be a mainstay and repeat destination for those in and out of the area. read more

So much hype surrounding the opening of this eatery inside Crate & Barrel..As a former shopper at this location, I used to think it was the standard for all things kitchen & dining...now, not so much. In fact, I can't remember the last time I've stepped foot inside a C&B prior to this visit. Arriving for a late lunch (2ish) with my sis, no tables were available but we were told we could sit at the bar, so we did. Funny thing was, after being seated and observing the space, it didn't seem crowded at all. Larger tables being occupied by parties of two seemed to be lingering. Sofas seemed to provide empty space for dining. Dining area is smaller than it seems. Bar is directly in center but not as large as I pictured. As you might have guessed, everything is adorned in C&B style..from the flatware to the seating. A clever idea on their part...like the plate your salad is served on? You can buy it too. Space is modern, clean and reminds me of summer...fresh and soothing. After browsing the menu, I was sorry I had talked my sis into coming here. Very modest & gut-wrenching for someone who isn't crazy about veggies yet happens to love salads. Salads & healthy eating is the prime focus of the menu. A burger, skirt steak & two pastas are added for good measure. Service was really sloooow. There seemed to be some confusion on who was taking our orders and bringing them out. Menu's took time to receive. Again, it wasn't crazy busy. Sis had a taste for sangria so the bartender suggested his idea of something similar; Passionately Purple. At least it looked like sangria. Tequila, hibiscus, orange bitters, lime, pineapple. A well made cocktail and much stronger than..you know. She was feelin it for sure. Spinach and artichoke dip starter is an old trusty friend. Served piping hot with crunchy puffed rice cakes. These puffed rice thingy's totally threw us off, we're talking carunchy x10...just not conducive for dipping in this dip which happened to NOT be very dippy. Really thick and chunky - but also really tasty and heavy. Loved the artichoke chunks. And then we waited and waited...it became comical at one point with different servers approaching us. My Mushroom fricassee and her Kale Caesar arrives. She liked the salad but felt the parmesan was overpowering; heavy handed. It did look like a lot. The best part of her salad? The chickpea croutons. They should make an app or entrée of just this. Nothing else. It's that good. Not kidding. Each bite is a crispy explosion of tender, gooey chickpea puree filling. I don't know how they do it, but I might take one of their classes just to find out. My fricassee with brussels sprouts & truffle was extremely bland and boring. The puddle of broth had no flavor whatsoever and I couldn't taste an iota of truffle oil in the grits. When asked how I liked it, I was honest. He took it away, thankfully. We split the Cavatelli with sausage. Pasta is not house made. When my sister asked for his recommendation, we received a resounding "Oh, it's very good." I get not all tastes are the same. It was very mediocre to us. Pasta was undercooked. Sauce was sweeter, but the sausage and fennel came through. She took the rest home. We saw Chef Kim strolling around a few times. They probably could've used his help on the floor. Our dishes had huge lag times from one to another. It was a haphazard experience. I'm not knocking them for having to work out a few kinks since they are new. But I will say the menu is not what I expected given the hype & Chef Kim. There just isn't anything exciting on it and what we did have didn't leave us wanting more. And the Deep Dish Cauliflower Lasagna better blow you away if they're gonna charge $28 for cauliflower. Our bartender was sweet; he tried, but other than cocktails I don't see a reason to return. read more

I went to the Table at Crate today taking my favorite food buddy, my brother for lunch. This is an update and second opinion on this new venue. A consistent complaint has been service. Today our server introduced us to his assistant and informed us that they as a team would be addressing our needs. This actually started the meal off on a high note, thinking they must have had some extra training on getting the service up to par. Our meal started with cocktails which were okay, I had a mescal old fashion. Sometimes classics should be left alone, to call this an old fashion diminishes the original version. If you are gonna try to remake something you better hit it out of the park. This drink made second on a slide. I wanted my brother to try the green bean starter that I had last week. It was outstanding, bright , colorful and delicious. Today's version visually was dull, pale in color and limp, looking very very tired. They say you taste first with you eyes and in this case I was disappointed before even tasting the dish. We also had a dish of soshito peppers. This was surprisingly bland after experiencing such great seasoning the week before. This leads me to my next topic SALT!!!!salt If you go you go to the Table, bring salt! Our appetizers both lacked salt. I requested salt from three different servers and didn't get any until our mains came. What's incredible is that they bring these salt mills from crate and barrel and you can't get salt out of them. Our server even tried to help without much success. I would suggest old fashion salt shakers. Two of us had their cheeseburger, which if that's what you want for lunch, you would be better served at Shake Shack. An order of lemon chicken was visually pleasing but again lacked any seasoning. A lot of hoopla is made over their cauliflower lasagna, which we divide to try. This is a $28 dish so this had better be a great entree. Unfortunately, this dish was a mess. First seasoning was non existent. However the salt requested during appetizers finally arrived. The dish had a nice crisp brown crust but the bland colorless mush was just like eating leftovers. listen to me save the $28 and buy a case of cauliflower to take home from Mariano's. I would love to say that I was gonna have lunch here again, however that probably won't happen. read more

The food: EXCELLENT! I had the shrimp poke bowl and the truffle fries. DELICIOUS! That's it. That's all you need to know. The others at my table also enjoyed their food. Also, the waitress did mention that the portions are different than usual. That being said, !!!!finally!!!!!, portions are normal and not huge that you go into a food coma. But... service is not stellar. Our table did not have utensils. We didn't get any either. We took some off the table behind us although we already had appetizers on our table. Getting water refills was a pain, and we were sitting outside on a hot day... Overall, i did enjoy the freshness of the food, the atmosphere, the presentation. read more

The Table at Crate looks and feels like an oasis in the middle of Oakbrook Mall. My party of 2 had a 6:15 PM reservation on a Thursday night. We came through the store entrance and the restaurant opening was to the right of the door. The host was not at the stand but walked up within seconds and greeted us very warmly. She asked if we'd like to sit inside or outside, and when we said outside she sent us to and 2nd host stand on the other side of the restaurant. When we spoke with that Host he informed us there would be a wait, so we opted to sit inside and were sent back to the original host stand. This back and forth was one of the only downsides of the evening. The ambiance is gorgeous, as expected for a restaurant outfitted by Crate & Barrel. Fancier than a typical mall restaurant, but fitting for a meal with friends or a date. Our meal was excellent, except the deep dish cauliflower lasagna was a bit crunchy and watery. We were hoping it would be the star of the meal and it fell short of our expectations. Overall I would recommend The Table at Crate and will likely be back the next time I'm in the area. read more

I love crate and barrel, my husband and I registered here for our wedding. Most of our home purchases are all made here. Naturally, on one of our visits to the store, we saw they were opening a restaurant! Immediately we made reservations. We came for a late lunch, 4 pm. The drinks were absolutely delicious. I ordered the mezcal old fashioned. I'm not sure what brand of mezcal they used but it wasn't as Smokey as I'm used to. If you've been wanting to get into mezcal or taste it without the fear of drinking liquid campfire smoke, I would definitely recommend the mezcal old fashioned. My husband ordered the Passionately Purple. The drink lived up to its name. I had a few sips... it's not too sweet, it's a little tart and very refreshing. The service was nice. Everyone seemed to be busy but attentive. We were also sat by the open kitchen where the chef was orchestrating is magic. We had the cauliflower lasagna. Let's just say he loved it more than he loves me. I don't really blame him, I don't cook and it was delicious. I don't remember what the name of the dish I ordered... but it was a creamy pesto pasta dish with just a hint of citrus. We will be back! read more

It was my first time trying this restaurant out with my boyfriend. We had lunch outside on a high top table and Norma was our server. She was great by making sure we were okay, needed another drink, and made great recommendations. We ordered an appetizer, drinks, and an entree. The spinach dip was amazing but I do wish they gave us more pita chips since it's a lot of dips. Also, the drinks we got were so good I love the sangria and would recommend it. Lastly, we got the lemon chicken and it came with mash potatoes and asparagus which was tasty. The only thing I didn't like was the fatty of the chicken it was just not appetizing to me. Other than that everything was great and the ambiance of the patio was great. I love the way the tables were spread out and there was lots of shade as well. This was our fourth time eating lunch at the Table and Crate. Sadly our food was not as good as before. Service was ok. The restaurant was not even at half capacity, probably 4 parties outside and maybe 3 parties inside (max 4 ppl per party) ... our food took forever to get to our table and by the time it got to us the steak was cold. The patio area was not as clean as it used to be, tables were clean but the floor was dirty. We paid 76 dollars for two main dishes (steak/wontons and the shrimp quinoa salad, one appetizer (fries and aioli) and one diet coke. The steak was well seasoned but since it was cold it didn't taste great. The Salad was bland. The fries and aioli were delicious as usual, probably the best dish of the three. It's Location and access to the mall is what makes this restaurant a good option when shopping at the mall but unfortunately the quality of food for that price range doesn't match.
