I had a really lovely double chicken burger (2 big chunks of batted fillet and salad) and a pint of I forget (It was made by Ringwood brewery anyway) to wash it down with. Mrs Z opted for the fish, chips and mushy peas,and a pint of Forty Niner (Also by Ringwood). And our friends both had the steak and ale pie with chips (Which I have to say looked really nice!).. The interior is very inviting and the staff helpful and polite although flat out when we were there. Menu is standard Sunday roast with a couple of nice touches - a platter for one or two with a selection of three roast meats and a pig in a blanket (done! mine!) and a rib roast for two. The roast veg comes on a side platter with more than enough for two with parsnip, baby carrots, roast spuds and some cabbage stuff- golden! Add some cauliflower cheese, a pint of what you fancy and it is Sunday roast heaven! At £30 for two on the pricey side but well worth it. Recommended.

We had a long wait for drinks, a long wait to be shown to our table, a long wait for our order to be taken, at which point we were then told they only had 1 t-bone steak, when 2 were required, they had no chicken royale, when 2 were required, we continued with our order and all 6 of us asked for salad and 1 wanted new potatoes. About 25mins later we were told that they had run out of new potatoes!!!! Then 10 mins later we were told that they hadn't actually got the t-bone steak. By this time we were getting extremely annoyed. When the meal finally came, 2 hours later, by which time our table was then in semi darkness, not one of the plates had salad, and we were told they had run out of salad!!!! one of our party tried to cut through his jacket potato only to find it was FROZEN in the centre!!!! We asked to see the manager, who incidentally was also the chef, he eventually came to see us and said we could have a complimentary drink each, we said we wanted the bill reduced. When the bill came he had knocked 20 percent off, we asked for 50 percent reduction, but was told he would only go down by 25 percent so we angrily accepted this and left. We shall not go back there again if you paid us to, we were all so very upset that our evening had been ruined.
