My stepson had a pizza, not sure which one. With drinks. I had a cloudy lager which had a citrus taste, and I acquired a taste for it by having two pints. It was £5 per pint. Wife had wine by the glass (125ml) which was unsually cheaper than my beer!!!!! Total bill came to £70 for 3 of us. Staff members were attentive. Had a refit inside, don't know when, but still has that fresh smell. Good selection of ales. I'd be going back.......

Today I had Trio of Seared Scallops with Beetroot & Spinach Risotto which was absolutely delicious. I have seen some risotto's in other restaurants that didn't look that nicely done but this one was perfect! Then for Main Course I chose the Venison Steaks - the flavours combined with the excellent gravy were amazing! Topped off with two different Award Winning Ales and it was a night of dining to remember! A must to visit!!!

Although late in the day the place was heaving and they found a table for us with two nice armchairs. The interior is very inviting and the staff helpful and polite although flat out when we were there. Menu is standard Sunday roast with a couple of nice touches - a platter for one or two with a selection of three roast meats and a pig in a blanket (done! mine!) and a rib roast for two. The roast veg comes on a side platter with more than enough for two with parsnip, baby carrots, roast spuds and some cabbage stuff- golden! Add some cauliflower cheese, a pint of what you fancy and it is Sunday roast heaven! At £30 for two on the pricey side but well worth it. Recommended.

The place itself is large, nicely furnished but nothing over the top, they are situated right next to the Premier Travel Inn so I presume that they will be fairly busy in the evenings, but I went on a lunch time and it was just right. The prices are really reasonable and i'm pretty sure that at certain times there are 2 for 1 deals on, but if you're in the area and fancy a nice meal I can definitely recommend, the food variety is really good and they seem to have something for all tastes! And you can get a decent pint!!!!

Grandad, Son and Grandson went back to The Swan, last visit was nearly two years ago. Last visit…read morewas on a 'two for one' late evening meal and was unexpectedly well cooked and presented. 'The Swan' has just changed owners and has a new 'gastro menu' with an increase in prices. As a group we ordered a mix of meals and got a mixed feed back from the age groups! Surprisingly, Grandad enjoyed his crispy pork ribs on pesto mash, grandson went for cod and chips but complained that the chips were too fatty and without the usual condiments, and me in the middle tried salmon fish cakes on a bed of spinach, with poached eggs. My fishcakes started well but ended up becoming a soft mash! An observation made during our visit was that tables were being served but not getting the utensils/condiments. Several diners either had to get the server's attention or come up to the cash desk. In summerising, the pub/restaurant has only been open three weeks, and the service staff haven't yet 'bedded in'. I think the simple menu, cooked using fresh foods, will draw in locals away from the 'two for one' pubs. The pub is an established location and I would recommend a visit provided it sorts out it's service issues. By the way, The Swan does serve an excellent range of beers!
