Loved this beautiful restaurant in a tiny Cotswold village. We're staying in Stanton and our host…read morerecommended it. They have well done pub food but if you're like me and ready for something more, this is the place. The seasonal menu was extensive. Our server recommended the duck and it was fabulous along with the sides. The sticky toffee pudding was the best I've had in a long time. Beautiful interior, wonderful service and loved the music too. It's away from the tourist crowds too. Ahhh, nice. Sorry I didn't take any photos. The presentation was beautiful. Really enjoyed the shiraz cab wine and tawny port dessert wine. Excellent!

I've read some good reviews about this pub, so whilst I was near Broadway today, I popped in…read more The Childswickham Inn is situated on a scenic, but busy road to Broadway. The exterior of the pub, is attractive, with a few tables and chairs by the entrance. The interior is smart and modern, but not so modern as to "frighten" away the traditionalists amongst us! At the time of writing, there were 3 ales on, Doom Bar, Abbots Ale and one other. I asked for a coke, one of the bar staff could see I was laden down with shopping, so she kindly took my drink to a table outside. The beer garden is just as smart as the interior, I could have happily stayed here quite a while. I had travelled to Broadway by bus, and it was quite a long wait for the next one, so I ordered some food. The menu has quite a nice selection, but I went for a light bite - a tuna and red onion filling with melted cheese. I repositioned to one of the tables by the entrance, so I could admire some of the scenery. Unfortunately there are some power cables striding across some of the nearby fields, but you take the rough with the smooth. I did not have to wait long for my food, I was delighted with my choice. The ciabatta was served with a side salad and a generous portion of chips. The salad had a sweet dressing. The meal was lovely, the portion was so generous, that I wrapped one half of the ciabatta to have later on. The Childswickham Inn, is a place which I would wholeheartedly recommend.

We had a really bad experience at Great Western Arms. We arrived in town after a long travel day…read moreexcited for our first meal. We had made a reservation. We weren't drinking because of personal reasons and the woman in the green dress with dark hair was so rude to us. We actually wanted to leave. We ordered sodas, tea, appetizers, dessert and dinner. She threw together a table and had a terrible uninviting attitude after asking us if we were drinking. We had to ask for water and she brought tiny glasses and a very small pitcher of water. We poured our own water and sat and waited for our food. When our food came we had drank the little water we had and had to ask for more. She took forever to bring it us and again rude. It was unbelievable. We were so thirsty with the food we were eating. I wouldn't go here ever again. If she ran my restaurant and treated people like that she would be gone.

Great pub restaurant in Blockley. We ate here twice and really enjoyed the food. We had an…read moreexcellent caprese salad, a whole trout and toad in the hole our first time. The toad in a hole is bangers and mash with Yorkshire pudding (what we know as a Dutch baby) and side veggies (English snap peas). It was a little overwhelming but good. Second visit we had duck Brest which was beautifully prepared. Only wish is that they had decaf coffee drinks as a choice after dinner. If near Blockley, this is a solid choice
