I've read some good reviews about this pub, so whilst I was near Broadway today, I popped in.
The Childswickham Inn is situated on a scenic, but busy road to Broadway.
The exterior of the pub, is attractive, with a few tables and chairs by the entrance. The interior is smart and modern, but not so modern as to "frighten" away the traditionalists amongst us! At the time of writing, there were 3 ales on, Doom Bar, Abbots Ale and one other. I asked for a coke, one of the bar staff could see I was laden down with shopping, so she kindly took my drink to a table outside.
The beer garden is just as smart as the interior, I could have happily stayed here quite a while. I had travelled to Broadway by bus, and it was quite a long wait for the next one, so I ordered some food. The menu has quite a nice selection, but I went for a light bite - a tuna and red onion filling with melted cheese.
I repositioned to one of the tables by the entrance, so I could admire some of the scenery. Unfortunately there are some power cables striding across some of the nearby fields, but you take the rough with the smooth.
I did not have to wait long for my food, I was delighted with my choice. The ciabatta was served with a side salad and a generous portion of chips. The salad had a sweet dressing. The meal was lovely, the portion was so generous, that I wrapped one half of the ciabatta to have later on.
The Childswickham Inn, is a place which I would wholeheartedly recommend. read more
