We went here as a group! First and foremost, shoutout to Treyvone (hope I spelled his name…read morecorrectly), for being so accommodating and checking on us to make sure we're good! He went above and beyond customer service. Thank you! Also, the place accommodated for our lost time because of the fire drill! The staff was quick in addressing it and shout out to the Farmingdale Fire Dept for their fast reply! Lastly, the race was fun! We did 2 races and it was a blast! Also played some arcade games. :) I think the price was fair. The last place I went to that was similar to this used fuel, and I paid around $79. Considering the $10 difference, I say it's decently priced! Just a little note: the safety video needs subtitles because you cant hear anything.

However, we waited three hours for a race that only lasted 10 minutes. You have to come with plenty of time and be prepared to wait for the track. Maybe it was just packed because it was the weekend. Bathroom was dirty and smell Way beyond nasty.

What a fantastic inaugural event! Port Jefferson can really throw a party! You could not ask for…read moresuch perfect weather in a picturesque seaside town, plus the water was warm and with plenty of excited energy in the air. The festivities started with the introductions of the local officials, a monk to bless the fleet and the eye dotting ceremony to "awaken the dragon". Each team had their encampments along the shore with their tents, banners and brightly colored uniforms. From then on, the teams were on the water all day for some intense competition, paddling their butts off. The boats out on the water were a fair distance away and were hard to track, but each boat came back to a rousing round of cheers! The festival would not be complete without some great food from vendors serving some tasty Asian dishes. Potstickers, teriyaki chicken bowls & spicy pork skewers were some of the stolen bites I got from my wife. But I was racing, so I couldn't load up on food or I would've chummed the bay. Entertainment was provided all day by local dance & choral groups, and a lion dance demonstration by a martial arts troop. The highlight was Hsu-nami, a erhu band that rocked the stage! We didn't win a medal, but it was an exhausting and exhilarating day! Can't wait for next year.

Came from Nassau county and I would not come back again. Don't come here unless you live less than 20 mins away otherwise it's a waste of your time.

Helluva race! A 70k run from Rocky Point to Hampton Bays, which you can run solo or as a relay…read moreteam. It's separated into five different legs, from 6.75 to 10.5 miles for each, with an aid station at the end of each leg. This is an assisted race (for solo runners), so you can bring drop bags to pick up at each station. The aid stations themselves were packed with snacks, Hammer Gels, Heed, water, first aid, portos and more. They really made it easy for a first-timer and Jen (organizer) was super encouraging and helpful at every stop (I took my sweet time). As for the race itself, wow. So. Much. Fun. Darting through trees, dodging rocks and debris on the trails, 3k ft of elevation, running (slowly) through the charred remains of the pine barrens in Brookhaven... in no way did it feel like a boring road race (sorrynotsorry) and it was exciting at every turn. Only once did I want to escape and that's really due to the fact I ate a bean burrito upon entering Leg #3 aka the beast. Poor decision, Drew. Overall, David and Jen did a great job and it was an insanely fun day. Thanks to all the volunteers and everyone else who put hard work into making this happen (marking 43 miles of trails can't be easy). Another big shout out to all the other competitors who were super friendly and gave it their all. Try it. Try a leg of it. You won't get lost and will have a great time. Fun fact: Paumanok is the Native American name for Long Island

I'm not a runner…read more No. I'm one of those people who wear fancy workout clothes and get out of breath after a minute of "running". So why did I sign up for this? I wanted a fancy medal! Of course, the one year that I signed up for this, they decided NOT to give out medals and to give out tech T-shirts instead. I guess I'll wear my tech tshirt instead of a medal while training for my next race. It was pretty cool running past the unisphere, museum, fountain (which did not run this year -- what, are they getting cheap with water too?!). Mile 1. This is good. I'm gonna keep running. Yeah. I'm almost at mile 2. Mile 2. Okay I did a mile. I'm gonna slow down a bit. Yeah. Mile 3. Why did I sign up for this again? Oh right, the medal. Yes. I've done 5Ks before, I can do this. Mile 4. LALALALALALALALALALALA Mile 5. Wait. Am I done with mile 5 or did I just start it? Where am I? I'm so confused. HEY THEY'RE PLAYING MY JAM!!! (Backstreet boys) Mile 6. I'M DONE I'M DONE I'M DONE!!!! Where the heck is the finish line?!?!?!? Oh... 10K is 6.2 miles... WHY IS THIS 0.2 MILES SO LONG!!!!!! Finish line. Weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee! I'm not doing this again. ........Who am I kidding, I'll sign up again next year.

I even turned in my fastest competitive 10K time, ever. One of the downsides is the ever increasing overcrowding issue that plagues these runs. It's a little annoying to be bumped into by many people. Give me some space, man. Another issue (my take) is not having the first water station right after the 1 mile marker. I think this should be a must, especially during what is probably the hottest run of the year. But overall, I like this fast and mostly flat run. Glad I ran it today and did well.

Had a really great time running this race this past weekend! Coming from running only larger NYRR…read moreraces in NYC, the Hamptons Marathon was a nice change of pace. The course itself is flat as can be, so if you're looking for a good pacing run this is your race. Watch out for the weather though, as most of the course isn't shaded you're at the mercy of the sun and she was a-blazin' this weekend. But, that also led to great views of some beautiful houses, ponds and beaches along the way. As a runner, weather is just something you deal with. Since the heat was on high, water stations are essential and it was really cute how many were manned by local families. There were kids of all ages handing out water and gatorade and everyone was super friendly and encouraging. High-fives to all of the volunteers, including the police and fire dept! Lets not forget they were out in the heat all day too. After the race there were plenty of water/bagels/bananas available and trainers ready to stretch out your legs, which refuse to move at that point. A few food food trucks were also around helping feed runners and their spectator friends at the finish line. Overall, a really nice course! Would love to make this a yearly run (until I retire from this torture). It's really just you vs yourself out there. Go get it. Protip: remember the 40% rule. When your mind tells you you're done, you're really only 40% done.
