1. No one answers their emergency line when you call 2. Horrible sewer smell hits you as you enter the building 3. Made us wait for 50minutes for our appointment 4. Told us they could not help with the emergency, because they could not work on "another dentists work" 5. They tried multiple attempts to try to get x rays after they said they could not legally help. I refused them. They just want to make a profit. read more

I am extremely disappointed with my experience with The Super Dentists. My concerns are not simply about the cost of treatment, but about the lack of transparency, communication, and professionalism I experienced throughout the process. I went in with the intention of getting dental and orthodontic treatment for my children. Unfortunately, after reconsidering the treatment, we decided to cancel the same day we went into the office. Despite canceling in person, I have had significant concerns regarding the deposit that was kept and the lack of clear communication regarding why it was being retained. What made the situation even more frustrating was how we were treated when we went into the office. The staff appeared to be in a rush to leave and did not take the time to properly address our concerns or provide us with the assistance and explanation we deserved as paying customers. I felt brushed aside rather than treated like a valued patient and parent. After that, I spent an entire month trying to get answers and resolve the situation. Communication was extremely difficult, and my messages and concerns were not addressed in a timely manner. The most frustrating part is that I only received a response today after I stated that I would be sharing my experience through Yelp and Google reviews. As a parent, I expect honesty, transparency, professionalism, and respectful communication when dealing with the dental and orthodontic care of my children. Unfortunately, that is not the experience I received. I hope management takes this feedback seriously and reviews how situations like this are handled, particularly when it involves deposits, cancellations, and communication with parents. Customers should not feel that they have to threaten a negative review just to receive a response or have their concerns acknowledged. Based on my experience, I would strongly encourage anyone considering treatment to carefully review the cancellation and deposit policies, ask questions upfront, and make sure everything is clearly explained in writing before making a payment. read more

Very disappointed with my experience at Escondido Super Dentist I'm extremely disappointed with how my child's appointment was handled today, 10/01. On Tuesday, 09/29, I brought my child in as an emergency because he was experiencing significant tooth pain. He was evaluated, and the recommended treatment plan included one extraction and three silver crowns. I was strongly encouraged to prepay for today's appointment, which I did. During that visit, I specifically told the office that my child's new insurance plan would become effective on 10/01, the exact date of his scheduled procedure. Despite knowing this, I was still encouraged to prepay using the insurance information they had on file. Today, I took time off work and kept my child out of school so he could receive his treatment. He was taken back, given laughing gas and anesthesia, and was already numb and prepared for the procedure. It was only after this that additional treatment was brought up, and when I asked about the price difference, they ran the insurance and told me I would have to pay $2,600 out of pocket because they did not accept my new insurance. This could have and should have been addressed before the appointment, especially before my child was given anesthesia and made numb for a procedure that ultimately was not performed. As a parent, I found this incredibly frustrating. I lost time and wages from work, my child missed school, and most importantly, he went through the discomfort and stress of anesthesia and being prepared for dental work without actually receiving the treatment he came in for. I was also told that items such as a spacer and other necessary items had not been included in the original treatment plan and that I would now have to pay for those separately. These are costs and treatment details that I believe should have been clearly explained to me beforehand. To make matters worse, I had prepaid for the appointment. When I asked for my money back, I was told that because the payment was made previously and not that day, it would take several days to process, followed by another 5-7 business days to receive my refund. Overall, this experience was extremely disappointing and felt very poorly coordinated. I specifically communicated the insurance change ahead of time, yet the issue was not addressed until after my child had already been anesthetized and prepared for treatment. I understand that insurance coverage can be complicated and that treatment plans can change. However, I expect a dental office, especially one treating children, to verify insurance, clearly communicate costs and treatment changes, and address financial concerns before a child is anesthetized and prepared for a procedure. I hope management takes this feedback seriously and reviews what happened so another parent and child do not have to go through the same experience. read more

Took daughter there horrible experience. they do unnecessary work (words from new dentist recommended by her pediatrician at scripps) they added fillings that came out a month later and they wouldn't warranty them cause it was few days over the month warranty window ! New dentist has a 1 year warranty ! Talk to your pediatrician and they will not recommend super dentist ! read more

Where do I begin? Earlier this year I took my boys to Super Dentists in Escondido. This was our first time there, mind you, so they were new patients. They get their cleanings, X-rays etc. No one, receptionist, dental assistants and dentist included, were friendly or tried to make my boys comfortable or even act pleasant considering it was their first time. After the normal procedure, the dentist jumps straight to the recommended dental services, and explains in detail what needed to be done, in front of my children with them very much listening. One of my boys had a breakdown crying because he was scared. I was confused and overwhelmed with all the info being thrown at me with literally no Segway to the conversation. Then without me realizing what's going on, another "dentist" comes over to us and spews even more treatments that need to be done. I quickly find out that this was an orthodontist, for my SEVEN year old. I was still baffled at the lack of etiquette and types of conversations that were being immediately thrown at me. I was then asked to go into an office to discuss further. That discussion turned into going over itemized price sheets of work that needed to be done. I was quoted between $12-$15k for dental work only for one of my boys. This didn't include an additional $3-4k for orthodontist related treatment plus the comment that our insurance will only cover $300ish of this insane pricing. Everything moved so fast I was in literal shock and still overwhelmed at all these things being thrown my way. Without me saying I'd like to proceed with anything, I was then told about payment plans, and asking if I wanted to make a payment right then and there?! Um no. They didn't even discuss my other son, who apparently needed work done also. So who knows how many more thousands of dollars were yet to come. I needed a 2nd opinion. Fast forward to a recommendation from a coworker to another local dentist. Night and day difference. Everyone was SO kind, caring and super helpful. My one son who supposedly needed almost $20k worth of dental procedures done was quoted at $1500. My other son $300-$400. Guess what? Our insurance covered 90% of the expense. The receptionist even mentioned that Super Dentists take an incredibly aggressive approach to dental care. Shocker! Now they are contacting me over and over again to pay out of pocket for the cleaning/X-ray fees which were covered by our insurance. I was told I need to reach out to our insurance to get the checks reissued. With our already bad experience the last thing I'm doing is getting on the phone with customer service and wasting more time. Long story long, lol, please be cautious with them and learn from my mistake! End rant. :) read more

The staff is always friendly, professional, and does a great job with my son every teeth cleaning. We've always been happy with the care he receives. The only downside is the wait time. It seems like they're often short-staffed because almost every visit ends up being an hour or more before we're seen. That's the only reason I don't enjoy coming here. If they could improve the wait times, this place would easily be better. read more

My daughter got her filling for a cavity at this location. Afterwards, she complained of pain and the filling came out. I returned to this location to see if they could see her because of the excruciating pain. Instead of helping to fix the issue, the doctor there refused treatment. They said that the original dentist had to be the one to treat her. They said that because the dentist was already paid, they had to be the ONLY one that could treat her. Even though she was in pain, I agreed to make an appointment at another location with the same doctor. When I drove 10+ miles to this new location, they refused to see her again because this time the doctor wasn't there. This is strange because I made an appointment with the assurance that the dentist would be there and able to treat my daughter. Finally, after some back and forth, the new location was able to provide me with alternatives that the original Super Dentist in Escondido never mentioned. My daughter was in pain from her failed filling for about a week before she was finally able to be treated. I'm just frustrated because all I wanted was for them to fix my daughter's filling and alleviate her pain. Instead I was met with unprofessional service that made it seem like they only care about the money. read more

I scheduled an appointment for 11 AM because that's what they suggested. I arrived at 10:50, and I've been waiting for 30 minutes. Now, they've gone on lunch. If they were going to do that, why schedule me? It's frustrating that I'm wasting my time and money on this orthodontist, and their lack of professionalism is disappointing. read more

Please please go to a different dentist! I have been to two different locations and at both the office staff was super rude. One of the assistants at the Escondido location insisted my child needed a specific sealant even after I had declined it. They still went ahead and did the sealant and charged me for it. They also seem to not want to fill cavities just jump to crowns as the only option. I honestly felt scammed at this dentist big time! I've spent over $600 here and am not happy about it because it felt unnecessary and like I was being fed lies just for them to get my money. Also they billed my insurance double procedures which I had to fight to be corrected as well as billing for things my child did not have done! Do not go to the super dentist! read more

Service takes forever. Something that should take 30 minutes ends up taking one hour. Cleaning was the worst part. They don't even try. I've had cleanings way better than here. Your time and money is spent better elsewhere. read more

I took my autistic son here and was very disappointed by how unprepared and insensitive the staff were. I told the front desk we do not consent to any restraints, and they said they'd note it. But once we were called in, the first thing we saw were the straps. My son was already overwhelmed and anxious, and instead of showing understanding, staff stared and made him more uncomfortable. When I asked about general anesthesia, they said he'd just get a shot with mild sedation -- which isn't appropriate for a child who doesn't understand verbal commands. When I declined to continue, staff whispered and made comments, even saying "insurance won't cover that and you'll pay." This visit wasn't about money -- it was about my child's safety and emotional well-being. I truly hope this office improves their sensitivity and training with special needs children. Not autism friendly be AWAREEEEEEEEEE !!! read more

We took our 4 year old here for a cleaning and it was the worst cleaning experience. They accomplished nothing. The entire exam and cleaning took less than 5 minutes, all they did was polish her teeth while avoiding obvious plague buildup My wife asked the dentist if she could use the metal pick for a thorough go over to which she responded she didn't need it. We cleaned her teeth when we came home and they charged us 140 for a less than 5 minute cleaning and exam. As a medical professional, this is unacceptable. We won't be back read more

Beware! They want to pretend they are kid friendly but if you're preschooler is scared and doesn't want to engage, they suggest mouth devices to fully traumatize them. Then the doc will spend 3 min with you and tell you the kid has 8 cavities that need taken care of now to make money. We got a 2nd opinion and they said let's watch 3. Have never had a worse dentist experience. read more

First I would like to say that my 6 year is on the spectrum and the dentist is one of the hardest things for him. Yesterday we had the privilege of working with Yasmin who was INCREDIBLE this woman needs a raise! My son really likes to know every single step of what they're doing, and she took so much time and so much patience with him on every single step. Every single time we have been to the dentist it has been screaming kicking and crying with hardly anything accomplished but for the first time ever my son had such a incredible experience that he is so proud of himself and as a parent that is anything I could ask for. Thank you super dentist you have made this such an enjoyable experience for a parent and a positive experience for a child on the spectrum. read more

Took my 9 year to this location for the first time and it was great all around. There is so much for the kids to do while they wait; iPads, TVs, dress up area, a slide! And for the parents, a nice selection of coffee and teas. The front desk staff was welcoming and informative, gave us a quick little tour since we arrived really early. Once my daughter was brought back, everyone was friendly and made sure she felt comfortable and at ease. She was just in for a routine check up and cleaning but they were frequently checking in with her and explaining every step. Recommend! read more

THE WORST! We showed up and they said that my son's appt was cancelled bc we didn't call them to confirm?!
