I have to agree with Leigh K. on her review...Dr Baker and his staff is a professional and caring office that make orthodontic correction less stressful and more enjoyable. My daughter's smile is priceless compared to what we paid for and endured for the last 3 years. But, I remember that my daughter did not have any reservations or fear in going to her orthodontic appointments, in fact she looked forward to it! The administrative staff provides efficient service with a caring attitude. The hygenists were friendly and supportive and Dr. Baker really loves what he does...makling sure that smiles are forever being shared with people. If you are looking for an orthodontist... Dr. Baker is THE ONE. Let me start by explaining my situation. I am in my late 20s and I had braces when I was 16. My teeth were perfect for about 6 years after getting my traditional braces off. My incisor teeth began to crowd. I have spent about $1500 on retainers (because wearing the same retainer for 10+ years seems gross and they become loose). And I figured, mine as well use my insurance to get them straight again and have a retainer included with the cost. I have been to another orthodontist in the Escondido area.It was a generic experience. I decided to cancel. Finally I FOUND DR BAKER. He had SEVERAL suggestions! Very impressed with his knowledge and precise ability to calculate movement and space. I got lingual braces (braces behind the teeth). I had an allergic reaction to Invisalign with another practice and I wouldn't want conventional braces at my age. He called to see how I was doing. Price was fair! And service is quick. The financial manager is very personable and not pushy at all. Payment options are organized and, clear. He is really a genius and it is not an understatement. Please schedule a consultation! I had to write... this can just be a bit of a testament. I went to Baker and Baker Orthodontics in the early 90s. Back then they weren't in their present location, and it was a father-son team. I didn't love having braces, but I love what having braces did for my smile. The Bakers (Guy and Brad) and the rest of the staff were always friendly and funny. It made the experience less painful. I HIGHLY recommend Baker Orthodontics. I have known Dr. Brad and his dad for years. (His Dad ran the practice before him) They are soooo friendly, and personable; but more than that, Dr. Brad is very professional and skilled in his profession. He is a perfectionist, who will make sure your teeth and smile look better than ever. I have NEVER been to a professional office that has made me feel more welcome, accepted, loved and cared for than I have felt at his office. They are genuinely interested in you as a person, and the office environment is upbeat, positive and enjoyable. I had a few teeth that were very out of alignment and were very stubborn through the process of being straightened. It was very clear to me that he is very very knowledgeable in this profession. Whatever he did to solve the problem with my teeth, was always the right thing, and they look beautiful! I'm with Leigh! I didn't like having braces, but being treated by him and his staff made a potentially difficult situation pleasant. I couldn't be more happy than I am with the smile he helped me have. He has gone out of his way to make sure that my smile will stay beautiful now, even though my braces are off, by post treatment care also. I also loved that while he was treating me, if something started poking me or hurting me even days after I left his office, I could call anytime and he work out being at the office to make sure he could solve the problem. I have come to Dr. Baker for all four of my children's orthodontic needs. We interviewed several orthodontists and it was unanimous- Dr. Baker was "the one" for all of us. He's thorough, compassionate, patient, and practical (he's a parent,too). Four different children also means four different approaches, because surprisingly, they're not all the same! Dr. Baker comes out to the waiting room at EVERY visit to explain what was done, and why, and what's next. This is a rare and much appreciated quality in healthcare these days- patience and understanding that we need these extra minutes of explanation in order to move forward comfortably. I feel very qualified to rate Brad Baker as a orthodontist since we sent all 5 of our kids to him. When my second child put "braces" down on her Christmas list to Santa at the age of 7, I knew I would be needing an orthodontist. I cannot tell you how many compliments our children get on their teeth. They all have beautiful smiles and I'm so happy we found him. Our oldest is 28 with our youngest being 17 so we are finally through those visits. However you never know...After our 3rd child was through with braces a surfboard hit her at the beach and pushed in her bottom teeth (age 17) after putting a hole in the skin below her lip. She didn't cry until her uncle mentioned the problem with her teeth. After having the hole stitched up we went to Brad and he was able to come in on a Saturday to start to fix her teeth again. She loves having her beautiful, straight teeth back. Our children had different issues with their teeth and he was able to perform the correct procedures so they all have amazing smiles.
