Very impressed with this orthodontic office. As an adult I have been here a few times myself. I urgently needed my permanent bottom retainer repaired (was "installed" in San Francisco) and Dr Hulse repaired it and didn't charge me. A few years later, same scenario. When I finally needed it replaced, of course I went to him. I told him if I ever had children they would definitely need braces and I'd bring them. Well, had two kids. My daughter turned 9 this weekend. We took her in today for a consultation and she left with braces. This place is great. Every one who works there from Janet who runs through the treatment plan and costs, Ari who helped put her braces on and Dr Hulse and Dr Kelsey were involved in placing of the braces. It was clear that they both will be taking care of my daughter when she comes in and they were both actively involved. I can't comment on price really except to say that it was in line with what I expected. This practice is also very involved with the community and supporting local schools. If I could give Hulse Orthodontics 10/5 stars, I would. I want to start off by saying that my daughter has been blessed with GREAT healthcare providers across the board. Dr. Hulse and his team at Hulse Orthodontics are the pinnacle of oral healthcare and orthodontics. The staff of the entire facility are always warm, compassionate, and uber professional. They treat the patients and their family members.... well, like family. This is not just their doctors; but their assistants, admin... everyone. They use the most advanced technology possible, which ultimately decreases your treatment time, pain, etc. (My daughter asks why she just can't get all x-rays at Hulse ;)). The facility is always immaculate, welcoming, and inviting. We were quoted a 22-month estimated timeline for braces. They shattered that estimate. My kid gets to eat (almost) what she wants this Halloween. Now, granted, she was also a VERY good patient. Listened carefully to the DOs and did them all. Listened to the DON'Ts and didn't do them. In that sense, healthcare outcomes are always a 2-way street, right? But Hulse Orthodontics makes everything EASY. From initial exam/x-ray/consultation to contract to completion, we knew what we were getting and the plan. I WANTED to be the one to take her to the appts. I enjoyed them. :) Dr. Hulse and Dr. Kelsey are not only the consummate experts and professionals, but their "bedside manners" are nonpareil. Just came back from my appointment at Hulse Orthodontics for an orthodontist consult and all I can say is that this office is AMAZING! ********************* FIRST IMPRESSIONS: After looking at reviews on yelp, I decided to give Hulse Orthodontics a call to schedule an appointment. Right off the bat, the woman on the phone was so sweet, polite, and was able to answer all of my questions in a heartbeat. Instead of having to wait a week to schedule my appointment they had openings the same week! I ended up scheduling for 2 days out. When the day arrived, I drove to the office using google maps. It was very easy to find since the side of the building said Hulse Orthodontics. The parking lot was very spacious and had ample parking available. Right when I walked in, I was so amazed by the interior design. It was so modern, rustic, and comfortable. Basically - nothing like all the other dental offices I've been to. Instead of a dental office, I felt like I was in a new home showing. I could tell that the office was very kid friendly because there was a separate section for arcade games, what?! I walked up to the front desk and the woman already knew it was me even though it was my first time! I had already filled out the forms beforehand so I handed her those and got checked in within a minute. After about 3-5 minutes, another staff member grabbed me to go do all of my scans. This is a predominantly female staffed office FYI. Everyone was super nice and seemed to enjoy working at this office. ********************* ORTHO CONSULT: I can go on and on about my experience, but I just wanted to say that Janelle and Dr. Hulse was AMAZING during the consult. They told me the good, the bad, and what I should expect. Janelle was so knowledgeable and answered all of my teeth and insurance questions without any hesitation. Overall every staff member I met today were very kind, smart, and professional. I wish they did general dentistry here too, but unfortunately only orthodontia. I saw a lot of kid, teen, and adult patients so I know that this office is popular for all ages. Overall, I am going to recommend this office to every single person I know. The customer service here was absolutely amazing. My experience is based on my short visit there. I'm not going to go into details here... but I felt like I was treated like family, and he basically referred me to go back to my orthodontist in Florida because the treatment I wanted here would be way more expensive. I used to have invisalign... which is a 5-7k procedure... my last few trays have dissappeared, and he said I would need to go through the whole thing again... which is why he said it would make more sense for me to talk to my previous orthodontist. Hulse helped me repair my melted Invisalign retainers in 24 hours. I melted my retainer one morning, had an appointment for later that day and the next day I had a new top retainer! They fit better than my old ones and they even graciously tweaked my bottom wire retainers, which were from another orthodontist, so that they fit better. I got upper and lower braces earlier this month and am so excited for the journey! Since the initial call I made to hulse orthodontics I have been impressed- great service from front desk to the back! I can't remember the assistant name but she was wonderful! She explained everything she was going to do and how it would feel and even talking about how to care for the braces and my teeth while she was installing them- Ashlee? I know it was a common name but spelled in a unique way. Hopefully she knows I'm talking about her! She was so lovely. Also Dr. Hulse was fabulous! He was so enthusiastic about my results it made me feel great! He must see dozens of clients a day and to have a great attitude makes it better. Sure my teeth are tender but all worth it to have a better smile! Dr. Hulse has always been the best, I was 8 when I got my braces from him He had set up the greatest payment plans with my family in order to make it work. He does an astounding job at making sure everything is perfect and double checks on his assistants to make sure the work is done right (although, my teeth were pretty bad so I got the pleasure of chatting his ear off most of the time) Every since I got my spacers, to now my finished beautiful smile--and yearly check ups-- he is always there to fix and maintain the beautiful work he puts forth. When our daughter was in fourth grade, we were told she needed to have her jaw broken and reset in order to correct a severe underbite. My gut feeling as a mother did not want to accept this solution and thought, "There has to be another way!" After speaking with three orthodontists (yes, I'm tenacious), all agreeing the only treatment would be to break her jaw, we found Dr. Hulse. During our consultation, he took x-rays and assured us there was no need to break her jaw and reset it. He explained she'd need two phases in braces; the first to align her jaw then later, when her baby teeth fell out, a second phase to correct the placement of the adult teeth. He went on to describe the kind of treatment involved with each phase. Finally, a plan that was not invasive! Our daughter began phase one at the age of ten. It took a little over two years to complete and dramatically changed her mouth! We had to wait a few years for her baby teeth to fall out then began the second phase. At sixteen, she now has a beautiful smile! We cannot give Dr. Hulse and his amazing staff enough stars or a big enough "THANK YOU"! Everyone in this office is driven by a sincere care for each patient who walks through their doors and is reflected, not only in their smiles and by the way in which they interact, but also by their immaculate facility and efficiency with which this practice is run. Professionalism and up-to-date technology may be the bedrock of their success, but it's the warmth of a family atmosphere that makes you feel you're in good hands. Her correction was fairly intense as it involved crowding and therefore extractions and then gaps to fill in by moving her teeth around. My wife wanted Invisalign and every other Ortho said that wouldn't work and that she would first have to be in full braces for at least 2 years, then switch over to Invisalign. We sat down with Hulse and he convinced us he could do the Invisalign and been completely done in 2 years. It was done in 22 months. So that's a review of our experience with their service/people. Here's the icing on the cake... they just moved into a bigger brand new facility and it feels like walking into a nice day spa. Swanky swanky swanky diggs, and his rates with right inline with all of the other Orhtos we interviewed. Couldn't be happier with this experience. I can tell you the office is clean, the staff is sharp and the doctor is thoughtful and careful, but the story that tells it all is what happened when things went wrong.
