I've been going to Dr Walker for the past few years for my two kids, ages 11 and 13 (braces) and for myself (Invisalign). We could not be happier with the personal attention we get, attention to detail, follow up, and meticulous care we receive at each and every visit. My kids love her and so do I! Dr Walker is a perfectionist and you want that in your orthodontist! I've referred her to several friends and they have ALL been very pleased with her professional knowledge, expertise, and bedside manner. She takes the time to explain things in layman's terms and always provides you with options to choose the best course for your treatment. I interviewed a Little over half a dozen orthodontist over the years and could never find somebody that I trusted enough with my teeth. I ended up going with Leah Walker 3-D orthodontics and I'm so happy with my treatment so far. I'm currently doing 3M aligners and I am on my third case refinement and I love how Dr. Walker it's such a perfectionist. Because I personally I am the same way when it comes to my teeth. I really love that they have the 3-D imaging aspect as well so you can get the whole picture. My teeth are looking leaps and bounds better than when we started and it's been so nice to go into the office. I'm not your everyday, typical 10 y/o "customer. I'm not a parent of the patient. I got braces as an adult, with a very tall order, and although it's long, I think my story is worth the read for any considering Dr. Walker. Being an adult, I started braces with a fully grown-in bony palate, a lower jaw wider than my upper, and a Class 2 crossbite. And due to this, and an airway 1/2 as wide as normal, it was in hopes to cure severe sleep apnea, through surgery, and extensive orthodontic care. And interestingly enough, I have what some call a full fraternity of esteemed dentist friends here in Southern California. So when I was told I need an amazing orthodontist, I asked my extensive network of dentists that know & have worked with most of them all, and several had worked with Dr. Walker in her early career prior to having her own practice, and couldn't recommend her more. I went and met with Dr. Walker, and the decision couldn't be easier for me, Dr. Walker was the one for the job. the question was whether Dr. Walker would agree as well, or decline, as my case was in plain words, going to be a bit of a p.i.t.a. Dr. Walker carefully reviewed my prior films, notes, and conversed with my oral surgeon, and graciously/kindly accepted the very challenging job. She then worked closely with this surgeon for the next two years, essentially getting my teeth and jaw aligned exactly how my oral surgeon required, braces then get removed in prep for the surgery, 2 weeks for me to then wait, as my teeth do a bit of final settling, and then IT happened. 2 days before the surgery my oral surgeon calls me & says "I'm terribly sorry, but I'm calling your surgery off. As I planned the surgery, this, that, and the other bla bla bla, but long & short of it, I can't do this surgery. I'm not capable, & I'm not sure anybody is." I say a few choice words back to the doc, take a few days for it all to sink in, and then I went back to Dr. Walker to deliver the news that the doc quit on me. He had tried, but was over his head. What does Dr. Walker do? Does she say sorry, thanks for your money, but I did my part so best of luck in your future endeavors? NOPE. She asks if I want to give up & move on, or reboot, & try under the care of another. We do exactly that as I serendipitously hear of a godfather of bi-jaw surgery, Dr. Berger, and we continue on under his care. Thru this all, Dr. Walker's commitment to help me to the end never once waned. Not one bit. Sadly, I did make it thru to having surgery a year later, and unfortunately it failed. And when I returned to deliver the news while receiving invisalign follow up care with Dr. Walker, what does she ask? "Well, are there any other new surgical techniques on the horizon?! I'm not quitting on you if you aren't. If we need to put you back in brackets to facilitate another stab at this, then that's what I'll do." My dental "fraternity" friends have told me this is NOT the norm. And I know they're right. And I know the reason why. Why, you may ask? Why doesn't Dr. Walker quit? One minute with her in her clinic and you'll have no doubt...it's because she's in this for US. Her patients. NOT THE MONEY. Crazy enough, Dr. Walker is not only this amazing special breed, but so is her team. EVERY SINGLE member of her staff, are equally impressive in the level of commitment, and personally invested pride and care they provide every patient. In closing, I've read some of the other reviews, and I hope you all will oblige a few more works from me as in short, I must say some people just can't be made happy, by any provider, as they aren't happy themselves. None of us can say when we see lone negative comments among a series of otherwise series of stellar reviews. What I will say is I work with dozens of medical professionals, nurses, surgeons, and administrators, as a career medical device sales professional. And some are in the top 10% skilled, talent, and bedside manner, some are in the bottom. I'll end by reaffirming to you Dr. Walker is in the top, in all categories you can possibly care to find in any sort of professional, and in particular a healthcare provider. Good luck through the challenges of braces, or a child soon to go through them, it's not fun, but you'll get through it, and be so glad you made the commitment/"plunge". I went in to Dr. Walkers hoping that she could help fix my advanced TMJ dysfunction with braces. I had already had a bite guard and seen multiple dentists and orthodontists. I know that braces and surgery are the only solutions left to fix my jaw problem. Knowing this, I was a little irritated to find that Dr. Walker refused to put braces on me until she made me a mouth guard. Most orthodontists told me they wouldn't bother with that since when I get the braces on, I wouldn't be able to wear a mouth guard. But, for one reason or another, Dr. Walker insisted that this is what she had to do. I went with it what she said because she showed me a cool video on TMJ and seemed to know a lot about it. I chose Dr. Walker because her practice was one of the only "in-network" practices that was willing to follow the contracted rates of my insurance company. I thought, "good, they're not greedy..." This proved to be dead wrong. After making the mouthguard for me, Dr. Walker's assistants sat me in a room and had me sign a contract. I asked them why there was a $60 fee each time the mouthguard was to be adjusted. The last mouthguard made by a different dentist included the fittings in the cost of the mouthguard. Dr. Walker's assistants couldn't give me a good answer. I still can't figure out how they could think paying hundreds of dollars for a small piece of plastic doesn't need to include making it fit properly. Ok, I thought, maybe Dr. Walker will be able to get my jaw really comfortable like my last dentist's mouthguard (Dr. Anthony Hill in Spring, TX) did. After just one week with his mouthguard I saw wonderful results. He included an entire month worth of therapy because it was included, but he really could have stopped after 1 week. Unfortunately, I had to get a new mouthguard since my bite changed from multiple fillings. Ok, I know, get to the bottom line. The bottom line is that Dr. Walker wanted to charge me $60 each time I came in to take 10 minutes to adjust my mouthguard. She barely added any acrylic and planned for the process to take up to 6 months. I believe that Dr. Walker was being greedy and was trying to draw out the procedure so that she could make more money. My last mouth guard was about 4 times thicker than the one she made me, and it worked 1000 times better. Her mouthguard showed 0 results. All it did was help my teeth not bang together at night, something that any store-bought nightguard would do. Do not see this orthodontist if you have severe TMJ dysfunction. She has no clue what she is doing or she is extremely greedy. Either way, it is going to hurt your wallet and give you no results. read more

I was initially excited to start Damon System treatment with Dr. Walker At 3D orthodontics, however, after about a year and 1/2 it was becoming increasingly clear that the expectations I had set prior to treatment were not being met. I asked on multiple occasions to make specific adjustments which would produce the desired outcome and I was met with resistance each time. After about 2 years I was informed that I had exceeded the treatment time and would have to pay $150 out of pocket each month, at this point I consulted with a few other Orthodontists in San Diego to continue treatment with because Dr. walker was wasting my time and money by not doing simple things like repositioning brackets on correctly, a few of them were replaced crooked and this only made things worse each time I would come in to get "wire adjustments" which of course I had to pay out of pocket for the privilege. The whole ordeal started off positive but over time turned into a nightmare. When all was said and done I was left with a subpar smile, the canines were bowed out, the bicuspids were recessed, and one of my front teeth was still crooked. I am now starting Invisalign treatment with another more reputable orthodontist to fix what was wrong due to their gross-negligence. I strongly caution anyone who is interested in starting braces to stay away from Walker 3D Orthodontics. Also, as a side note. Most orthodontists won't tell you this, whether out of ignorance or moral hazard but, for any of you with children who have compromised detoxification or MTHFR gene mutations, the braces are comprised of a nickel and copper alloy which will oxidize overtime and they will most likely have difficulty excreting the metals. Copper in its bio-unavailable form can build up and create all sorts of issues ranging from impaired digestion, candidiasis, pallor, mood swings, inflammation, etc. Nickel binds with cysteine and Selenium, effectively slowing down the Trans-Sulfation pathway which creates Glutathione (detoxification) and Taurine(fat digestion), and over time also decreases ceruloplasmin which is needed for proper copper regulation. It took me a long time to figure this out as I started experiencing health issues shortly after beginning treatment and had no idea what was going on. It's only been recently following a pretty extensive nutritional balancing and detoxification protocol aimed at eliminating these metals and correcting the dysfunction that I am experiencing some semblance of my former self. read more

If I could give 100 stars, I would!! Dr. Walker has fixed the smiles of two of my children so we have been patients since 2012. She and her staff are always super friendly as soon as you walk in the door. They make you feel like family, not just because they are friendly but because they ALL truly care about their patients. They will spend as much time as you need to explain everything, and they won't sugar coat the truth.
