My daughter just completed two years of braces at Beam Orthodontics, and we couldn't be happier with the experience. From the start, we felt confident that Dr. Schaefer was recommending only what she truly needed. The dental assistants are wonderful. They are caring, patient, and genuinely friendly, which made every visit easy, especially for a teenager who wasn't always thrilled about being in the chair! The results speak for themselves. My daughter is absolutely beaming -- which feels especially fitting for Beam Orthodontics. We highly recommend this practice to any family looking for trustworthy, quality orthodontic care. read more

I went to beam as an adult for Invisalign because I had never had braces on the bottom teeth and had spacing issues on the top. Now that I'm finished, I've even noticed I have stopped grinding my teeth! Dr Schaefer was great! I decided to go here instead of my dentist and am so happy I did because the extra time he had me wear them helped out more than just the spacing in the end. read more

This practice was so professional, kind and accommodating. We are in from out of town visiting grandparents for the week. My 10-year-old popped a wire out of a bracket and they fit us in the same day (receptionist Lily was delightful in the phone when I called). My daughter was seen not only by a technician but by the actual orthodontist, Dr. Schaefer. He was so kind, fixed the problem, and comped the appointment since we were in from out of town for a quick emergency visit. I am so impressed and so grateful. What a wonderful practice! Hopefully no orthodontic emergencies in the future, but if we do have one, this is where I'm bringing my children. read more

If I could give Beam 6 stars, I would! I have seen Dr. Schaefer twice for two separate issues with my permanent retainer (which was originally installed by another orthodontist). Thank You to Dr. Schaefer and his wonderful team for taking the time to see me for a TMJ consultation. I was really really hoping that braces will answer all my questions and end this TMJ nightmare but It was not that easy. Dr. Schaefer has been very thorough in explaining why braces are not recommended for now. And wanted me to see a TMJ specialist first and see if in time i will need braces. He was also very nice and looked for other TMJ specialist that offered more affordable consultation fee since im paying out of pocket. And Dr Schaefer and his team still checks on me once in a while and always reminds me that if i need any other help I can contact their office anytime. Ohh and before I forget, I also received a post card from him and his team wks after my consult. And thats how you can tell that they really care and appreciate all the patients that comes in and out. PS. The clinic is beautiful And.. . Not only is this a gorgeous, state of the art office, it is a boutique practice. You don't feel run over, or rushed, and you can feel how close this family owned practice is to its community. The decor is gorgeous, and fun, so I can certainly see why teenagers would love it. And they have freshly baked cookies! Yes! I went in as an adult, for a consult with Dr. Schaefer. Everyone from start to finish was so welcoming. I had my name on the wall, and was greeted with a warm smile and a tour. After getting all my images done I saw the doctor, who is so sweet and personable. I was not rushed, and everyone took their time to make sure I understood all of my options. Dr. Schaefer gave me several options, one of them being no treatment at all. He was open, and honest. He shared that he felt that surgery would be too drastic, and at most a shorter orthodontic treatment would help me achieve my esthetic goals. He really took the time to listen to my main concerns, and ultimately told me he felt that I should take some time to consider my options, rather than forcing me to sign on the dotted line so to speak. I felt heard, understood, and no pressure. I'm thankful for Dr. Schaefer's honesty, and appreciate everyone's generosity and kindness. Will definitely be sending family and friends over! read more

Our kids met Dr. Schaefer and the team at the Encinitas Egg Hunt event which they sponsor. Their staff are so friendly, fun and professional that we were sure right away they would be our go-to when the time came for orthodontics. Our youngest, Brady has a super crowded mouth at age 7 and we need to treat now to avoid bigger problems down the road. Brady honestly couldn't wait to get to his first appointment and had such a good experience and loves the office and staff. As parents, this is such a relief and just makes the whole thing easier. Their staff communicate very well and laid out the whole plan and plenty of options to make it work for us. We feel very good to have a plan now, to have a handle on the costs, and not to worry about it later. Also, for sure, they have the best office too. Super calm, clean and a very cool look. Visits work out too with the amazing Encinitas Community Park right next door and the beach close as well. Five stars! read more
