They are always on time, fast, and incredibly efficient -- I honestly don't think we've ever waited more than a few seconds before being called back. What really sets them apart is how amazing they are with little kids. My 1 and 3 year old have had zero tears here, which feels like a miracle at the dentist! The entire staff is warm and patient, but Jocelyn especially deserves a shoutout. She is absolutely incredible with my girls and has such a gift with children. We were nervous about the anesthesia and had not had a good experience with our previous dentist. not happy with experience for both kids. they claimed our son had a cavity and needed to cap it. went back to our original dentist and said it was just a cracked filling with no cavity and just needs a new filling. they also said our daughter needed an extraction. we consulted our orthodontist and they said it definitely did not. if we hand not challenged it they would have just pulled. read more

Love Dr Warner and his staff! He was my kids dentist years ago and we loved him, but we switched insurance and he doesn't take our new plan. They have really nice office, Dr Warner is great and all the staff are fabulous. My son needed 4 teeth pulled for braces. Our insurance supposedly doesn't cover it/ allow use of extraction negotiated rate... so I called around asking for prices. Our regular dentist and the ortho office were expensive and didn't offer any discount for paying cash.. they didn't suggest anything I could do. I called Warner Pediatric Dentistry.. they were so nice.. they suggested I sign up for a cash discount plan they accept that made the price a little over half of what our regular dentist would charge. We got there for our appt. they were efficient with our paper work. He loved playing video games for a few minutes. They took him back, let him choose what he watched. They gave him/me the choice to stay or wait in the waiting room. He chose to have me not in the room. They gave him the numbing.. he said they made sure he couldn't feel anything. Then Dr Warner quickly took them out. He came out and gave me instructions. So wish he was in our current insurance plan! read more

Yeah, so I'm reviewing a dentist on Yelp. Normally, I would avoid such things, not wanting to tell anyone the story of how I once went in for a cleaning, got numbed up, then woke up naked in the alley behind the Borgata Casino in Atlantic City the next day. Damn you, Trump; what happened that weekend, anyway? Still, this review is more about my son's experience and how well they were able to get him comfortable and sit still enough so they could do what needed to get done. First off, the place is very clean. Even the goofing area for children to wait is tidy and pristine. Sure, this may have just been because we were the first visit on a fresh day, but I got the impression they tried to keep it in order throughout business hours. Second, they got my fidgety son to lay down quickly and stay in the chair without much effort or fuss. He was curious, which the dental assistant readily noticed, and played with it to get him comfortable with the tools they were going to use. This meant using the cleaners on his hands, showing him that they would tickle his teeth the same way they tickled his palms, letting him hold the little mirror to see his reflection and smile in it, and that the little cleaning hook was small and nothing to be afraid of. He was in and out of the initial examination in about ten minutes. Then it was off for his X-Rays, chatting with the dentist, and a recommendation to stuff what may turn into a cavity with some grape flavored fluoride. A few more minutes in the chair, again making my 3 year old son feel comfortable, calm, and happy, before filling his one-day problem tooth, and sending him on his way with two quarters for their prize machine at the door. He got a little ninja toy I promptly stepped on later that same night. But, that's not their fault. This place is great, I'm happy to know he'll be coming back for further dental care. I know my son's mouth is in good hands and a gentle demeanor that can get him to sit down and not be afraid to come back. What more could you want from a pediatric dentist? read more

Took my twin's here for their first dental check up when they were 1 years old. My twins didn't even cry for their 1st and 2nd visit. They let the hygienist and Dentist do their job on them. We came here because it was a referral from my dad's assistant even though we live in Rancho Bernardo. So when they turned 2, I tried to look for a pediatric dental office closer to us. Boy, I wish we stayed here because the other pediatric dental location we visited wasn't able to clean my daughter's teeth with how frightened she was. After that experience, we will continue to drive the distance here. They even gave my twins each a goodie bag and each a little stuff animal when they were done. It was so cute! (This was a few years back but we just drove past this place today and my kids were talking about what a terrible experience it was) One of the worst medical experiences we've ever had with our 3 kids. He told us that our two boys had so many cavities they needed a procedure with an anesthetist to knock our kids out, which was really scary and a horrible experience for both us and the boys. I since have spoken to several other dentists who would not have ever done that. Secondly, my daughter had a weird lump on her gum and he could not figure out what it was. He gave her really strong medication and a terrible tasting mouthwash that made her gag and nothing changed. I finally took her to my adult dentist (who we now all see) and in two seconds he said it was a twisted tooth, sent us to an orthodontist and it resolved. It was really, really alarming to me that Dr Warner is so quick to perform expensive procedures and prescribe medicine and doesn't seem to know what he's doing. Not a clue. The final straw was when they sent us a gift certificate for SEE'S CANDY!!! A dentist?!? I called the office to comment and the front desk lady said, "well kids can eat candy!" - I'm sure, so that they can get more cavities and come back for more unnecessary treatments from Dr. Warner. read more

They seemed decent enough, so I called. I was able to get appointments for both my kids, 6 and 4, really quickly. My son is not a fan of doctors and dentists, but everyone he came in contact with made him comfortable. The office is beautiful and perfectly kid friendly and the staff is wonderful. We visited Warner Pediatric Dental for the first time today with our 4 year old son, after being referred by friends. He gets super shy and nervous in new situations, so we showed up 30 minutes early to give him time to check out the office and feel more comfortable. Vanessa showed him around the entire place, explaining what everything was and how it would be used on him for his appointment. She explained the x-rays, the dental chair, each piece of equipment...she was super patient and thorough. When it was time for his x-rays, he happily followed her to the room and did everything she asked, no problem. She did an amazing job of building his trust and taking things slow. He ended up having an amazing appointment...everything went so smoothly and I think he actually enjoyed himself. Dr. Warner was super friendly and explained everything he was doing to both us and our son. He answered all of our questions and chatted a bit before we checked out. Just like Vanessa, he knew exactly how to interact with our son to make him comfortable. We made follow up appointments before we left for him and for his younger brother, as we plan to make Dr. Warner their dentist going forward. I am very grateful we have found Warner Pediatric Dental. My son is only 3.5 but he had cavities on 6 of his teeth.. not anymore! :) We were seeing another dentist for a while, who applied SDF when my son was about 2. We were waiting for the last molars to come out to do the fillings and crows and when they did, our previous dentist (well known in Carlsbad) would refuse to do my son's fillings without general anesthesia that had to be done at a clinic with a random anesthesiologist that was on call that day. There was no way we could do this to our son. So we decided to look for another dentist and see if there were other options. That's when I found doctor Warner. My son had little discomfort on one of his teeth and Dr. Warner did a temporary filling on that tooth that day. Took Dr. Warner 5 mins and my son was watching cartoons happily. That bought us another 4+ months (and my son had another temporary filling from before that we had to do in NY at 2.8 when traveling and my son started having tooth pain and could not eat. That filling lasted us 8 months). And today we finally had all of his teeth fixed. My son just turned 3.5 and even though his temporary fillings could have probably lasted him a little longer, we just did not want to risk it anymore. 30 mins - 6 cavities filled, no crowns! (4 molars and 2 front teeth) and 4 sealants to make sure the back molars are not affected. That is it! My son had a tube on his nose with oxygen and laughing gas and did great. He was happy before and after. No side effects, no risks. And yes, I had to get him a big ice cream after that! For those who are reading this review that have a little one with the same problem - I know your pain and worries, trust me. I have been to 3 well reviewed dentists with my son and I so wish we went to Dr. Warner first when my son was 2. That would probably save me lots of tears and grey hair. So thank you so much Dr. Warner! To you it may be just an ordinary day, but for us it was almost 1.5+ years of worrying fixed in less than 30 mins and a happy child! read more

My children have been going to Dr. Warner for about 8 years now. Every member of his staff has always been kind, amazing, and helpful. This includes our dental emergency after hours late in the evening. Our son, knocked out a permanent tooth (root and all) shortly before 8PM. We called the office and followed their emergency procedures for contacting Dr. Warner. By 8:30 we were at his office, Dr Warner was already there with a dental hygienist all set up and ready for us. My 8 year old son was cared for kindly and gently throughout the whole procedure. He even got to watch a movie while he had the procedure done. Dr Warner answered all our questions. The next morning we had a follow up appointment to check in. By the time of our follow up appointment the next day 10 AM I had already been contacted by his staff to make sure my son was ok and Dr Warner had already contacted a specialist for us and set up a plan of care for my son. When I left the appointment Holly (who is always amazing and works the front desk) helped us schedule the appointment with the specialist. Dr. Warner and his staff took what could have been a big traumatic ordeal for my son and turned it into an almost pleasant experience. Dr. Warner and his staff are always diligent and their calm demeanor is perfect for the little ones. I was able to make an appointment for both my three-year-old and one-year-old at the same time. It made it easier for the three-year-old to see her little brother go first and have no problems.
