The owner Drea greeted me and we chatted. I ended up purchasing so many great items, including my favorite pair of lounge pants that she had saved for herself but pulled them from behind the counter and sold them to me. I almost didn't accept them but I was in love with them. So much so I came back 6 months later(I primary residence TX) and purchased 4 more pairs in different colors. During this purchase I met *Brittini. She is fabulous. Helpful bright and cheerful. Even though I am only there every 3/6 months she remembers me. I recently bought a dress that I am in with. I can't wait to go back and shop some more. The prices and variety of clothing are amazing. This is a MUST visit while in #Mendocino

She left me to shop and made conversation with my man while he so patiently waited. She even welcomed my small dog to come in, yet was able to ensure helping me with sizes and suggestions. And, that I'd purchased a jacket that I LOVED and that I'd left it somewhere. I saw a jacket I loved and I needed a larger size than she had in the shop and I asked if perhaps "they" (meaning where ever she purchased it) might carry a larger size. She said it was the last of the inventory (which I assumed she meant her inventory). She walked off and didn't help to see if I could order a larger size. AND, prior to that, I'd wanted to ask a question and the two store keepers were chatting as I stood there in front of them waiting. The store keeps were in their 60's (I'd guess), so not, inexperienced. I worked in prestigious law firms in the San Francisco Financial District in my working days and realize practically every day that I was so fortunate to learn the professionalism required for working with high-end clients. You don't keep customers waiting while you finish your conversation because the whole point of you being in the store at that moment is to sell. So, while I'd had a very nice perception of Circa's owner last year, I didn't this time around and that's her loss. I told other potential customers and other store employees/owners when I walked out. Word of mouth is powerful for stores like this. I may not have purchased anything, and I won't rush to her store the next time I'm in Mendocino, a small loss for her, but, she doesn't know who I know, who I speak to. And, now I'm telling a larger audience. I noticed a couple of people working in town who left me feeling less positive about Mendocino, a placed I've always LOVED. Your customers are often there to have fun and if you are sour, it sours their experience. AND, you most often ALWAYS remember the nice people and their businesses.

But best of all, the prices are downright reasonable. Not at all what I expected in a Bay Area boutique with EXQUISITE merchandise. I got two sweaters, a dress, a brooch and two necklaces! The prices are great, and I found some good pottery and they had so many cute teapots. Staff is friendly, I didn't get a chance to look through the clothes but the pricing sheet was very reasonable. The only thing is I wish their carts were a little more practical. They have the smaller really low to the ground carts that don't have a spot for a baby in the top. It was a little difficult to shop with my kiddos, but if you remember to put your stroller in the car (unlike me) it shouldn't be an issue.

New stock apparently comes in on the frequent and when that happens you'll find the old going on sale and that's asking for my pocketbook to go empty. I definitely had to hold myself back. Friendly staff nearby ready to help if there was any to be had and simply just to hold some conversation. Definitely recommend to stop by and pick something up in case you forget a warm covering along with a souvenir.
