Last week I went to a big name salon in the area to get a balayage. My hair was a very dark brown and I wanted it lightened. Despite saying they felt comfortable with the service- I left with orange patchy hair. So I went to the studio on bridge and the owner kindly gave me a consultation and for me set up with Maia to fix the color. Maia was amazing and got my hair to look almost exactly like the inspiration picture I brought in. She was kind, knowledgeable and set realistic expectations. Wonderful experience. A little pricey, but I'd say it's definitely worth it! Sami matched my roots and blended it into my blonde for a reverse balayage. I also told her to get rid of all of my dead hair, regardless of how much length she'd be taking off, and her judgement was spot on! I found Studio on Bridge on Yelp. I read many reviews from this salon and others and felt as comfortable as one can going to a new salon. I had Erika and she was wonderful. I had 1/2 head Baby Lights done to blend my grey. She listened to all my worries and did a lovely job with both Baby Lights and trim. I'm so glad I did my research. This salon is top notch! Every artist in here is talented and friendly. The atmosphere is very warm and welcoming and everyone knows their way around a head of hair. No matter what you're after, there is someone here who can help you achieve it. Courtney has been cutting my hair for years, and I never leave unhappy, and when I'm not thrilled with my hair she works with me to find a new look or a change of color or whatever it takes to make me love my hair again. I've learned about color, product, styling tools and everything else. I always feel like I'm among friends during the few hours it usually takes, between clients and stylists it's always a fun way to spend a Saturday afternoon. I love this place! I have been going to this salon for close to three years and I always walk out shaking my hair and feeling beautiful! I have previously gone to the giant salons but decided to try The Salon when I complemented a woman's hair and she told me that she went to The Salon. There are only six chairs at The Salon (I say that in a good way) and the same person takes care of you the entire time....you don't get passed from shampoo girl to stylist to someone else who dries your hair. My stylist listens to my ideas but if I have a bad idea she will steer me in a good direction! I sometimes buy product there, but I have never felt pressured to buy anything. read more

I decided in overnight to cut my 5 years of very long hair the next day to medium length. I did an online schedule which was super easy and it took a minute. I was kind of worried that I wouldn't get how I wanna it but I guess I was blessed with Nicole Rose she did an outstanding job. I think everyone here would do the same thing too. When I walked in I believe Nicole offered water and something else don't remember. Showed Nicole a picture and asked for suggestions as well. One look at the picture she knew how I would want it. And I think she went above and beyond with me. Nicole and Alex offered me places to check out since I just moved in from Arizona. And their prices and experience are unbeatable. To start with the place is soo cute and inviting unlike the salon chains where you are in and out. I had my first hair appointment last weekend (Saturday) and it went great. All the chairs were occupied, customers knew the personal and vice Versa. Nicole was with me, and she did a fabulous job. They invest time in you and with you; that I can tell. No unnecessary product pushing or services. They'll work with you on what you want. As my hair cutting session progressed Nicole kept ask'n question and showing where we were going with the haircut. Unlike the experience I had some other places where you tell them and they cut it according to them and you are done; weather you like it or not. Haircut turned out cute and will be making next appointment for highlights. I really appreciated their work and energy. All the best to Nicole. Seriously THE best cut and color I've had yet!!!! I had brassy, ashy foil highlights and wanted to go back to a warmer version of my normal color. I also was so over my length and wanted a good chop. Nicole did an amazing job on both. I could not be more thrilled with my results. I will definitely be going back!!! I was worried that parking would be difficult; however, I found a spot right in back in their private parking lot. All the reviews looked good, so I decided to try them out. I think I'm not their target customer. Although they were all friendly, from what I see of their website, most customers are younger and in the photos they post, their focus seems to be on coloring. I am an older woman in a wheelchair and just wanted a short style I could easily maintain. My stylist was very nice. She did say I had a lot of curl in my hair and would I want to emphasize it. I thought it would be fun to see it once. I did not like it but thought when I washed it, I could blow dry it as usual and be back to straight hair. Something she said as I was leaving bothered me later. She said that if I wasn't happy with the curls (no perm involved, just natural) that I could go back in and she'd cut it differently. It started to dawn on me that she must have cut my hair FOR the curls. This was not explained to me at all. I thought I was getting the same haircut that I could wear curls or blow out. As it turns out, for blowing out, this is the worst cut I've ever had. I feel bad to say this because maybe it's my fault for not being savvy enough to realize they are two different cuts. I know I can go back to repair it and she would happily oblige, but don't want to navigate my way into the shop again. Here's the real reason I'm writing in case someone else with mobility issues is thinking of coming here. The shop is in a really adorable house right on Bridge Street. The problem is that it is really not wheelchair or even walker or cane friendly. The path to walk from the parking lot is lots of old brick and uneven cement, plus a few deep steps without handrails. It is not accessible for older folks who may not be able to maneuver the rough terrain or the steps. This is the real reason I'm writing this to let you know. The haircut is kind of secondary. Her only fault was that I feel she should have explained that the cut would be one to promote the natural curls and that if I didn't want that, she would cut it another way. Then I would have made the choice. They do beautiful work and if I were young and more mobile, I would jump at the chance to go again. read more

Bought a groupon but found out they wouldn't honor it. I went back through and in the fine print found that it was with a specific stylist (not obvious at all and I had booked online so no one caught it until I was there). They offered to have to me come back or go ahead with the appointment at full price, but that was really poor customer service. It's great that they tried to promote a specific stylist, but they really need to be more clear with their advertising or more flexible when something like that happens. It was extremely disappointing and they definitely lost me as a customer. read more
